She senses something calling to her as she enters a small club off Bourbon Street and her eyes are drawn to Tia the DJ spinning music. Without any doubt, she knew she had found the missing piece of herself.
When her new love Tia is kidnapped, Devin and her brother Damen, alpha of the Baton Rouge werewolf pack, must return to the Devil’s Tree, where lives and souls are lost, and sad memories abound.
Will the previous happenings at the Devil’s Tree help or hinder Devin in the fight of her life, and the life of Tia, the woman who now owns her heart?

I am a native Floridian who is temporarily (I hope) displaced in Memphis, TN. for work purposes, however I hope to make it home to a partner of 17 years and our family as quickly as I can. I enjoy photography as a hobby along with spinning a good tale.

I am American by birth and Southern by the Grace of God. LOL I enjoy writing about the south and creating characters and events that I hope my readers enjoy as much as I have in creating them.

First I want to say shifter books are my favorite. This is not the quality work we usually get from this author. These characters spent more time in mundane conversations over coffee and eating meals than any book I’ve read. The action, or pivotal scenes, are passed over so quickly I hardly noted them. This is book one in a series of two. I’m not reading the second book but I hope it’s better than this one for those of you that do.

This wasn't too bad. I at least liked the idea of where the story's going but the conversations between the characters was a bit stilted.

Anyway, I bought the second book at the same time as buying this one, so I'm going to read that one now and I've my toes and fingers crossed that it's much better than the first book.

Very good book!

This was a very good book! The plot development was well done and kept my interest on the story at all times. I liked Devin and Tia very much. Their relationship was very sweet. The supporting cast of characters were all very good. I thought Lizard was totally adorable! Well done!

Fantastic!

From the start it's already thrilling. Losing the two most important persons of her life, meeting the person she's fated to bond with, secrets are revealed, choices are made and actions are planned. Mesmericing from start to finish with very memorable great characters. I was constantly wondering what's gonna happen next and the plot was very fascinating. I'm truly blown away by this first book of The Hunter series. This Author doesn't disappoint and I can't wait for the next book.

The Devil's Tree
I loved this paranormal book by Ali Spooner. Starting off with a great loss, Devin leaves the security of the pack to find what her soul is aching for in New Orleans. The character development was outstanding and the storyline ever changing. Miss Spooner set this up perfectly for the next book that is coming out soon. Thank God I don't have to wait a year for the sequel. Thank you Ali for writing such a enjoyable book. Patiently waiting for the sequel

The book is filled with a great deal of love and good deeds for a book about supernatural creatures. I enjoyed the twists and turns, and look forward to reading more about these characters to see how their lives play out.
