The normally quiet town of Harbor Cove is rocked one evening when an unidentified man is found dead inside the men’s room of an upscale local restaurant. He has no local ties and lying next to his body oddly enough, was a bag full of money.
As word spreads of what seems to be murder lacking an obvious motive, this sparks the interest of freelance reporter Skyler Avery. Working as a reporter and writing for the local paper, Skyler is ready to delve deep into the most recent "event." She enlists the help of a lawyer at a local firm, Nichole Chambers.
Skyler and Nichole work feverishly and eventually narrow their list down to three main suspects. Just when they thought they found the killer, everything changes. Were their instincts right or does the chilling answer lie with someone else?
This wasn't a bad book. I enjoyed most of it. What was missing was sentence structure , character development, and background information on , NICHOLE, and CLUE. On to book two with hopefully much more to learn about these characters sand HARBOR COVE.
Not quite as clever as it thinks it is. The biggest problem, though, was the lack of a break between paragraphs when there is a change of point of view.
Point of view is all over the place and the kindle version doesn't bother to break the text between view. Not an enjoyable read, only plus was that it was short.
Since I don't normally write reviews unless I have something specific to say, here's the break down of how I rate my books...
1 star... This book was bad, so bad I may have given up and skipped to the end. I will avoid this author like the plague in the future.
2 stars... This book was not very good, and I won't be reading any more from the author.
3 stars... This book was ok, but I won't go out of my way to read more, But if I find another book by the author for under a dollar I'd pick it up.
4 stars... I really enjoyed this book and will definitely be on the look out to pick up more from the series/author.
5 stars... I loved this book! It has earned a permanent home in my collection and I'll be picking up the rest of the series and other books from the author ASAP.
Much relevant background on the story and characters has been forgotten or left out. A good proofreader and editor is also missing. Spelling and grammar errors abound.
