Endocrine system and hormonal health, including PMS and menopause 3. Digestive health, food and body weight issues 4. Coronary health, including coronary artery disease, hypertension, and stroke 5. The structural system, including bones, joints, and the spine 6. The brain and mind, including memory, Alzheimer’s, anxiety, and attention deficit disorder (ADD)
Wow. This was a surprise. It's very hay house/new age-y, but technical? How do i put it. It's like a one two punch, you get Mona Lisa's intuitive readings of peoples health and then pow you get Christiane's medical science know-how as a night-cap. THEN the two women are obviously best friends for a long long time, and the conversations are laugh out loud funny, but you don't want to laugh because you're afraid you might miss something. I'm not sure how I feel about all of the new age aspects, but I really appreciated the contrast and combination in the conversation, it really feels like you're eavesdropping in on the next table at the restaurant.
In intuitive listening Drs. Northrop and Schulz put words to what I've always thought - that our emotions when left to fester can cause disease. This book was very insightful and personally helpful. I enjoyed their combination of technical and antidotal approaches. This is a good book for anyone who wants to better understand the mind/body connection - scientists and believers alike.
So a discussion with lots of psueso science advice. But... there are some nuggets of truth scattered through here. Like how people get addicted and over prescribed drugs like xanex.
I wanted to like this book. I believe it is important to listen to our intuition and that there is much to learn from listening to our bodies. But this format of the two authors reading case studies with no clear organization did not appeal to me. I ended up quitting listening to it.
