When you've been through so much and it feels like everything that you once knew is no longer the same. What do you do? Tre has been through more than any one man should have to endure in a life time and it doesn’t look like things are going to get easier anytime soon. Especially, not since his baby mama Kisha has done the unthinkable in an attempt to even the score for his past infidelity. After witnessing her drive her car off of a bridge with their twin boys inside, Tre’s world is turned upside down and to make matters worse he’s also just learned of his father’s passing. How much more can one man take? How much more can one man endure before reaching his breaking point?
I was born and raised in VA. I am a proud mother of three, two girls and one boy. MY motivation behind my writing is personal experiences, things that I've seen, and just everyday issues.
Man, this book had me to angry, I never read a book that had me this angry before. Like for real you let this happen to your children? And why? For a dude who don't want you and then turn around and do something like harm his children and expect this dude to forgive you stupid puta.
And Trey was very calm because I would've dragged her and body slammed Keisha so many times. Karmas mothers hen foreal because in actuality Keisha showed her true colors, she was a straight up HOOD RAT before all this happen with Tre and his daughter's mother. It just came out when Trey didn't want her anymore. Psycho b88**.
Plus I'm glad that his children were good at the end, I hope it'll be a part 3. It needs one.
Kisha was still full of bull crap; it's like she couldn't quite I'm proud of Tre for putting their differences aside for the Twins because he wanted to murk that heifer so bad. Heck, i couldn't blame him one bit for the mess she pulls and now Quan missing his left I and can't walk I wish a miracle would happen lol in the next book so he could walk again I feel so sorry for him and Shawn they're so innocent. They like 6 or something I forgot maybe they older than that, but it been awhile made me angry and sad reading this book. I didn't feel sorry for Kisha, not one bit. That ratchet cricket always wanted someone to feel sorry for her. I bet she didn't know he lost his father time her cheese and bake headed self-ran off the bridge.
I did say I thought that Quan had to be the one who gotten thrown out of the car because if my memory is straight I think he was the one behind Kisha when she was face timing Tre because his head was on either the driver seat or window I forgot. Because Shawn was the one, who gotten rap in the seat belt. I do need to know what happen to him. Shoot I forgot I only remember that he was in a coma. I forgot what else happen to him.
I'm so proud of trey for stepping his game up and changing his ways cause lord knows he was terrible. Not much I can say about Kisha she's still ignorant as ever like really girl even thou you did that to your kids you can't at least stay for your son like have some type of sympathy. I don't know but I feel like she's going to make her sons hate her and sooner or later they gone find out what she did, sucky part is because of her her son scared to ride in cars. I don't feel not one sympathy for her because she's been ratchet and ghetto through part 1 and 2 of the book. I can't wait until part 3 comes out to see what happens I hate when the books I be reading ends like that ...
I need to know what happens next! Kisha is poor excuse for a woman and mother. I'm glad that Tre has changed so at least the boys have one good parent. That God he has a great support system. When is the next book coming out?
this was a soap opera for real. this town was full of drama between Trey and kisha. I still can't believe she try to drive her own car over bridge with her kids inside over a man.
No lie I would have never in a million years think I would be feeling sympathy for Tre, but damn it the man went through a lot and he really was trying to change. I’m mad as hell that Kisha was so selfish how you do your kids like that over a man. Novie she has some serious issues I don’t really care for her. Belle she’s okay I guess her drama with Corey has piqued interest. I do hope Tre finds happiness he deserves it.
I feel kinda let down by the story. It felt like I was waiting for the ball to drop but without the anticipation just the annoyance. Dont get me wrong this book had tear jerking moments and you can see the growth in Tre but it was a matter of reading the same story through other people. whereas in the first book you had the additional characters stories alongside the main. Don't get me started on the ending cant call it a cliff hanger. Disappointed
Wow is all I can say. This book was filled with so much emotion even I was exhausted in a good way. Here we have Tre dealing with the aftermath of Kisha's decision to drive her car over the bridge. As Kisha walks away unscathed, the damage that done to her two boys will haunt her forever. As Tre wrestles with his anger, he too will find himself in a very dark place as he is overcome with hatred, uncertainty, grief and loss. It is truly heartbreaking to read as Tre struggles to maintain and preserve any sanity he has left after dealing with so much loss. What did get riled up a bit was Kisha's viewpoint in this all this mess. To me letting a man define who and what you are is really pathetic. At the end of the day, she accepted all of Tre's past philandering ways and trying to make him the scapegoat in all of this didn't sit well with me. It was definitely a pleasure to read Tre's growth as a man and most of all as supportive and endearing parent. As far as the secondary characters , they remain as trifling as ever. I look forward to reading the third part of this series.
This is a great follow up from Tremaine. I am glad that many of the cliffhangers from the last book were answered. I am impressed that Tremaine is evolving as a character from the previous Side Chic books. One thing that has remained consistent with him is his love for his children. My only complaint is that yet another woman seems to fall in love with Tre and this is someone who is close to him and La La. Is Tre the ONLY man in Boykins? Lol. But I am glad that he nipped that in the bud before anything happened.
Kisha is still the same screwed up person from the last book. I hate her for what she did and still do. She still does not take responsibility for what she did and doesn't realize she needs professional help.
Very emotional read. I was all into this book like I was there! My eyes teared up a few times reading this. I was proud of Tre's growth and have no words for what Kisha caused. Judging by the way the book ends I'm assuming there's either a book 3 or a Kisha spin-off. There seemed like there just wasn't enough book to capture everyone's lives after, but I enjoyed getting a run down on Novie and Mina as well as Skeet. I feel like the introduction of Chyna was just a sneak peek, because her story definitely leaves you with unanswered questions. Well written, attention grabbing drama that pulls you in as well as pulls at your heart strings with this installment.
Despite it being over a year for the release, it was a great read. I hope that Kisha gets herself together for those boys. Reading about her driving the kids off the bridge, took me on an emotional roller coaster I hope the city of Boykins can overcome the drama they have. I am so confused as to why The opted out of pressing charges on Skeet but, he did mature. I had actually given up and was not going to read part 2. However I'm glad I did take out time to read it. I hope that part 3 will release soon, I was hoping 2 would be the end.
La'Tonya is an amazing author. My frustration lies in all these series. Write the book and be done! I had to go back and reread book 1 to remember exactly what happened... it had been about a year since I read it. Now, I gave to add another book to my growing list of 20+ books that end with a cliffhanger. It's getting to be ridiculous and not worth the read.
I really enjoyed this book.. I love the growth that Tre showed.. Now that damn Kisha on the other hand got on my last damn nerve.. Action like she the only 1 that's been hurt b4.. She better go put her big girl panties on..smh Those poor babies Shaun & Quan.. My heart went out 2 both of them, having 2 suffer cuz they Mama is foolish & stupid as hell.. Lady West u have done it again.. U never disappoint and which is y u'll always remain my very fav author.. Great job..
I hope part 3 will be coming soon . Kisha has truly showed how trifling she can be. Actually a lot of the women's behaviors in this book were trifling. I am hopping in part 3 they can all grow up and get their lives back in order. It has taken a lot but Tre has finally showed some maturity in his actions.
Just can't retake Kisha no more WTF was that...I'm stuck Kisha one sick bee... I wish you would find sweet a woman I feel sorry for him in love with that monster and I was hoping that him and Tre would get their friendship back Now Novie need to keep it moving no feeling her character...This is another GREAT READ sista never fails me OUTSTANDING
I chose a 5 star rating because I love this series and really enjoy the back stories for the characters. Now with that said Kisha need help to deal with her emotional and aggressive ways, Tre need to leave Boykins behind and move forward with his kids. His mom and the Chambers is his best support system.
Tre need to tell them boys what happened to them before someone else does. Novie really need to see a psychologist. Mina needs to leave and start over. Chyna needs to look at things from her son's point of view. Kisha needs to just go not come back. I hope the boys get better.
This book started out with a bang. And it keeps you very into it... I just want to know the Tre is going to do next.....Most definitely a page turner you will not be disappointed.
The book was good I just wished this was the end. Seems like the series is gonna continue to go on. Hoping La'Tonya have something new and refresh soon.
I love the way Tre step up to being the man he is I wish he just let Kisha do what she do he did his part some people don't realize things until it's to late
This is good and can't wait on next book. What kind of mother tryst to kill herself and her kids over a man.Come on home girl get it together. You need to move on.
