I own her. I’ve taken everything in her life and made it mine.
I’m not a nice man, no matter how much my woman wants to believe I am. Ashley can have her fantasy as long as it keeps her where she belongs. With me.I’ve finally got the family I’ve always wanted, the wife and son I’ve dreamt of, but when her father takes what is mine I will stop at nothing to get her back and make him regret the day he made that fateful decision.
I have her back, there was never any doubt that I would get her, she belongs to me. Now I just have to find the animal who dared to lay hands on what is mine and ensure that he fully understands exactly what I am capable of.
I protect my family, as a man should, and I will not countenance anyone thinking they can take what I protect. Especially not when my wife is filled with our first child. I just never counted on my past coming back to destroy the peace I’ve finally found.
Now it’s up to Ash to decide whether this situation becomes a war or a learning curve. I’ll never let her go but that doesn’t mean she’ll want to stay.

Lucian still is being extremely possessive and refuses to admit he loves Ashley... She does grow a little bit in this book and kind of stands up for herself. Though Lucians narrative tells you he doesn't/wont "love" Ashley, his actions are caring and he does protect her and show her how much he cares. This book again leaves me wishing there were just a bit more of their back story told. What has Lucian been up to the past 7 years? (some parts of this are answered, but some just leave more questions) Why does Ashley just move in, get married, get pregnant, and start a life with a man she still hasn't really learned much about? What woman would do all of this while not ever hearing their "husband" say I love you? Why is so much of this just a briskly moving fairy tale? I get that this is a love story and totally get that it is just that.. a story.. but it seriously leaves so much to desire that its left being unbelievable at best. SO MUCH POTENTIAL, but alas still just a decent story.
Ashley and Lucian's story continues, picking up where the first book left off with Ashley's kidnapping. We glimpse her inner strength and fighting spirit as she pushes to survive this ordeal. But her possessive cave man comes to the rescue and we see her braveness disappear again as he Luc dominates her life.
Following the kidnapping they settle into life with Ben and Ash tries to get the L declaration out to her husband, but fails. By the end of the book during their celebration of another land mark event another bombshell is dropped... Queue dramatic music..
Cliff hanger!
This book was better than the last one, it flowed better and seemed less rushed but Lucian still irks me, he's hiding things while he expects Ashley to be an open book. It's irritating how dominant Luc is, and his personality overshadows and drowns the bright spark and feisty attitude Ashley has.
It's an ok book, I'm not sure there's chemistry between the two leading characters but I will continue on with the next book.
This story derailed very quickly. The first book shows the H to be so devoted and obsessive of the h. In this book, he becomes distant and actually takes measures to avoid her. The h's attempts to change her personality to make herself more appealing to the H was so stupid. The group of friends who were extremely beautiful and call each other "b1@ches" was also stupid. The ending was a real mess and made me completely lose interest in this couple and story.
I still don't like this series. I read book 2 because I wondered why he wanted her. Now...nothing happened. She's pregnant and his 6ish year old kid just showed up. Since nothing kept me interested in why he wants her (they almost didn't talk about that at all) and nothing was interesting in thins book I won't read book 3.
What a great second book. I really want to know what Lucian is up to. Also, it is nice to see Ashley standing up for herself in this book. Great transformation for her from book 1. I am excited to see how all this plays out in book 3. Hope it comes out soon!!
Lucian still doesn't admit his love for his now wife, and avoids when she starts to say it. He is still caring, giving, and just treats her well. The other characters in the story help entertain us throughout the story, and a bombshell at the end pushes me to get to the next installment.
