In this adult fairy tale young, awkward, young Jack sells their prize cow Pearly White for magical beans to a strange man in a red bikini. Little does Jack’s mother, Lorene, know that the beans grow into a giant, magical beanstalk, high above the clouds?
Jack ascends the beanstalk to a land where a Giant Slave serves his larger Master, Jack begs Slave for food to satisfy his hunger from his long journey. But Jack finds Master hoarding treasures.
Attempting to escape the wrath of Master and Slave with the treasures, Jack encounters a handsome, engaging normal sized human man. Sam lives with others that live naturally without clothing deep in the forest. As Jack ages he becomes a handsome man, just like his father, attracting many men, including the two farmhands, Zeke and Adam.
Even though Jack has enabled the farm to prosper with the treasures he stole from Master and is met with increasing danger, he climbs the magical beanstalk again and again to find more treasures and pursue Sam.
"This piece really reflects Pablo Michaels’ creativity. His string of word choices is clever and wraps the scene in vivid visuals. The imagery is sublime. Who is the old man, the stranger, and what does he have to do with Jack and his mother? Pablo has cleverly added poignant character depth by infusing some of Jack's genesis, his family, parents and farm life, even expanded upon it to describe the hardship which was the reason the cow was traded in the first place. We have a strumming and artful gold harp—delightful—a young man running into forest. When they run into the thicket, do they meet all the other naked men? Are they slaves of the Giant? The panic and fright caused by the Giant was wonderfully underscored in his careful descriptions. I love these, 'rumbles of thunder', 'like a fox on a hunt', 'where daylight became dimmer'. Also his use of the 'thump, crunch' and the cackling hen really added an element of tension and heart pounding pursuit that was so tangible. This was a cleverly layered piece that I think was a bang on perfect tie-in for the original fairytale story. Pablo adds depth to their situation and tragedy, multiple layers of tension and understanding. I loved the fairytale as a child. I love this story as an adult; just love it. It is a well-crafted, beautifully developed, very sensuous taste of adventurous youth that just kept getting better. To the hilt: delicious, decadent and delectable." ~ Muffy Wilson
After living, working, and experiencing city life in San Francisco for twenty years, Pablo moved back to the rural home where he grew up to continue writing about the advent of gay liberation, the AIDS epidemic and life he observed and participated. Legally married to his loving husband after fifteen years, they enjoy sharing their love with other people from all backgrounds and beliefs. Two of his e-books, "When Johnny Comes Marching Home Again, Hooray!" and "Pagan Knights of Cambria" were published in 2010 at www.abook2read.com. His self-published novel "Catnip, Rosemary, Rage and Time" became available on February 14, 2011 in paperback or e-book format at Amazon, Barnes and Noble, and Xlibris.
A Sensual Adaptation of Adventurous Youth: Delicious, Decadent and Delectable!!

This is an erotic mm retelling of a well known fairy tale.
Its just about ok for a quick/free read.
Jack is a wimpy looking 18 year old when his sent to sell his families cow. what follows is the standard storyline with lots of sexual acts with a few people.
Eventually he meets Sam and I Iiked Sam, their relationship added to the story.
If you like sexual acts added where they shouldn't really be, fantasy or not, this is for you.
This is my second read of this author's work and I've decided its definitely not for me.
A fascinating M/M love story is interwoven with pieces from the original fairy tale to create a one-of-a-kind new "bedtime" story for adults. With exquisite detail of encounters that left my mouth salivating, this was a nice, spicy story that sent me off to heights higher than the magical beanstalk! This was a refreshingly nice re-telling with a very, very adult twist to it! Not for the faint of heart!
Original Review: http://www.blakrayneblog.com/2016/01/... Jack and the Magical Beanstalk by Pablo Michaels is a short story loosely based on the English fairy tale but written, of course, with a gay romantic twist. The forty-nine pages took me less than an hour to consume and consume I did with sincere pleasure. In my opinion, this story is the author’s best written to date. Colourfully descriptive, however not overdone, Mr. Michaels’s characters are endearing and at times humourous, which adds a sense of play to an otherwise somewhat frightening old tale. Jack’s father, Bill, is a handsome, strapping man who woos his mother Lorene after meeting her at the country fair. Two years later Jack is born, and at the age of five lightning kills his father during a storm. Which unfortunately leaves him and his mother financially destitute. The main character Jack gradually becomes a gangly awkward teen, but then transforms into this very handsome man with a heart of gold. Only concerned for his mother’s welfare and the fate of the family farm, he takes several trips up the beanstalk to return with various fortunes. Eventually, he hires a pair of farmhands and buys back the family cow Pearly White. During one of his excursions into the clouds, he happens to cross paths with another man, a naked and attractive man. Almost immediately, he feels drawn to the stranger, heart, body, and soul. In time, they become acquainted, and Jack falls in love. If you’re a fairy tale buff as I am and or into gay romance, I think you’ll find Jack and the Magical Beanstalk a fun read.
A New Spin On A Timeless Classic! By Imagine The Possibilities on January 1, 2016
I was given a complimentary copy of this book by the author. This review is my honest opinion and was not asked of me. Jack and the Magical Beanstalk (Yellow Silk Dreams) by author Pablo Michaels is a testament, of sorts, to the story Jack and The Beanstalk... but from a Gay perspective. This story does follow the premise from the fairy tale in its simplicity but from a very different perspective than its original form. There is definitely some new material here than what most of America knows of the original story, the tale we have all heard so many times. Well, now you can hear it again! This time you will meet several new characters. You will feel the emotion of the young man "jack", as he discovers other young men. I loved it! I have never read a book from the LGBT genre, but I may read more. This story is highly entertaining to say the least. Pablo Michaels has spun a fantastic "gay" web around Jack. Did Jack know he was gay? I don't think he did, but the story leads him along and helps him discover himself. Not only does he find himself, but he finds true love. What a wonderful depiction! Bravo Pablo Michaels, Bravo! I would recommend this title to anyone 18+
I am giving Jack and the Magical Beanstalk 3.5 STARS as I have mixed feelings about this story. First, as a fairy tale turned adult read, I think that the author did a really good job in making that transition and I found myself chuckling a time or two. The thing is that this is my first fairy tale turned adult read and my first read from this author, so I'm not sure if the one-dimensional emotional depth to the story is par for the course in this type of read or if this is simply the author's writing style. So, I'll start with what I liked about the story. There weren't many noticeable errors in the writing and editing which made this an easy and pleasurable read. I liked the few laughs and the steamy MM and MMM scenes in the story too. I was a little bit uncomfortable with one of Jack's artistic renderings of his father who'd passed away when Jack was five years old. When you read the story yourself you should be able to determine which sketch I am referring to. And as I've already mentioned, I do prefer a little more depth to a story and to the characters. Overall, this is an uncomplicated, fun read and I will be reading more from this author.
Jack and the Magical Beanstalk was a very strange spin on a classic tale. This book was very creative and well written, however it just isn't my cup of tea. It was filled with emotions of a young gay man who, at first, doesn't realize that he is gay. When he climbs the beanstalk, he finds the man he loves up above. This book was very imaginative and definitely a twist on a classic tale.
Jack and his mother are struggling to make ends meet, so jack goes to sell their milk cow. When he comes back with magic beans, his mother is extremely upset and throws them out the window. The next morning there is a beanstalk that reaches beyond the clouds. Jack climbs and steals gold from the giants above, but on his way back to the bean stalk, he sees a naked man. He can't get him off his mind and he knows he must return. When Jack hires men to help on the farm, they introduce him to the gay lifestyle, but Jack knows something is missing. He goes again up the beanstalk to find the missing piece.
Told with an erotic twist of gay fiction, this fairytale by Mr. Michaels is filled with sensual, seductive, graphic descriptions that left this reader no doubt as to what was going on!
I enjoyed the author's imaginative use for the beans and the giant's position as a dominant with a slave. Certainly original.
The tale is well-written, and effectively edited for punctuation, although, imho, delivery could've been slightly altered at the start for a greater impact.
Full of twists and turns throughout the pages, it certainly kept my attention and made me want to know what was going to happen next.
Sam and Jack's ending was a little abrupt for my personal preference, but then this IS an erotica piece after all so perhaps it was the way they needed it. All good things end in orgasmic bliss, right?
Pablo Michaels certainly knows how to tell an erotic tale, and then some. ‘Jack and the Magical Beanstalk’ threw me into a genre which I had never before encountered. The back-story of how Jack’s parents met and conceived Jack added depth to each of the characters and the reaction of Jack’s mother to Bill’s death was gut-wrenching, but the story quickly changed to one of spicy male-on-male erotica which I found to be quite humorous in places, such as the shape of the beans and how they were acquired. I found Pablo Michael’s story to be well written and entertaining. I recommend this book to mature readers who are interested in steamy gay erotica mixed with quite a bit of humor.
Mr. Michael’s brought life and a new pop to this old classic. He gave us insight into the dynamics of being raised by a single parent. He molded the old and new into a beautiful piece of imagery with depth making it easy to relate to the hardships and lessons that are learned along the way. Mr. Michael’s adapted Jack making him easily fit into the 21st century while keeping the old charm that made this story a classic. Mr. Michael’s subtly slipped in analogies which gave the story a bit of humor only adding to the delightfully well written layering of the original fairytale. He brought a sensuous quality to Jack that gave him more dimension and depth. Pablo Michael’s has created a magical journey into the world of fairytales. I look forward to more.
This short very sexy read is a fascinating m/m retelling of the classic fairytale. Jack a wimpy young man and his adventures as he follows along the path the original fairytale takes you. This author did very well in making this story stick to the fairytale guidelines of Jack and the beanstalk but yet add in creativity and adventures that make it his very own. Jack meets some interesting characters on his way to meeting Sam his true love that make this story fun and fast to read as you can't wait to see who and what is going to come up next.
**Reviewed by Hot Box Reviews blog** ** I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book **
i got this gifted by the author and with a tour in exchange for an honest review so what happens when Jack meets a strange man and makes an exchange for beans are they magical or not . and what happens when he meets a naked man is it love , lust or just interest . and what happens when he hires two men to help on the farm and why . warning to anyone who don't like non straight pairing aka gay type stories don't read but if you are open i recommend it . but also this is a twist in a classic of Jack and the Beanstalk so it is not like the story we once grew up on . but still a very interesting twist .
This is story was written with a great twist of Jack and the Beanstalk. Jack lost his father young and has always been looking out for his mother. When he travels the beanstalk and brings back some riches that will help with the family farm. There was some twist of Jack growing and his feeling blooming when he meets someone in to the clouds. This was wonderful story and Highly recommend it How would you describe the plot of this book? some twist Which of these words best describes the mood? Suspenseful How would you describe the pace? steady How would you describe the characters? developed * I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review *

Pablo Michaels' does it again. He has a great knack for storytelling, and this time he takes a childhood fairy tale and makes it sizzle with a whole new adult twist. Jack disobeys his mom when she sends him off to sell their prize dairy cow, and mayhem ensues. Follow Jack, his mother, their two farmhands, the Giant and his slave, and the naked man in the clouds who catches Jack's eye as they take you on a journey you don't want to miss.
Had a lot of fun with this novella, it is an adult/gay take on Jack and the Bean Stalk, but still has that great magical pull as the original story. It is not for the feint of heart and not for kids, but if you like steamy sex and high flying fantasy adventure, this story is for you. I only give it four stars instead of five because I wanted it to be longer. This was a complimentary read to review. Thank you for the fun read!
This is a very simple and easy read. I was hoping for a bit more complexity but overall I really enjoyed it. The story of Jack and the beanstalk but with a major twist and a lot of sex. lol I am glad i got to review it
