Learn the language everyone speaks but no one understands…Body language.Spencer Coffman, a certified expert in micro-expressions and well-versed in human behavior, will give you a great understanding of the little hidden signs displayed by every person on Earth. These unconscious behaviors are exactly that, unconscious. Because of this, they are often unrecognized. However, with training, they can be seen and lies can be detected.Of course, there are many books on the market about body language. However, this is the first one that takes the form of a study guide or lesson plan and is focused exclusively on deception.
I'm an author of many books that span a variety of subjects. My goal is to share valuable and informative information with others so that they can use it to be successful in life, business, and elsewhere.
I create many YouTube videos about plugin reviews, software reviews, online hints and tips, social media how to, to be successful on Steemit, protecting your identity, and other topics .
I'd love to have you connect with me on any of the sites below. In addition, if you ever have any questions about anything related to my content I hope you'll contact me.
Several definitions of what is considered a lie are explained in this book:
"...an act that is intended to foster in another person a belief or understanding which the deceiver considers to be false." ~ Krauss 1981
"...a false communication that tends to benefit the communicator." ~ Mitchell 1986
"...a deliberate choice to mislead a target without giving any notification of the intent to do so." ~ Ekman 1992
"...a successful or unsuccessful deliberate attempt, without forewarning, to create in another a belief which the communicator considers to be untrue." ~ Vrij 2000
It also covers the types of lies and why we use them in everyday life. It talks about why we ignore the signs when we know we are being lied to, and the human body's unconscious betrayal to a conscious lie.
If you are looking for a book that says a person is lying if they blink while responding, etc., then this is not the book you want. This one talks about research and tells you to study people, learn their tells, and utilize them. It gives signs of deception and examples of what to look for. It has entirely too many technical research discussions for me. I noticed myself getting bored and losing interest during every chapter except the last one, it held my attention a little bit longer.
However, just because it wasn't something I enjoyed you may like it. If anything I mentioned above piques your interest then give it a whirl, you may enjoy it more than I did.
