This book has been an engaging read aloud for our homeschool to accompany our chemistry unit study. Parts of it are so compelling that I found myself reading ahead of our children. The author does a brilliant job of painting the character of Robert Boyle. By the end of the book, one really feels as if they know him and could be his friend.
Very interesting biography about a very interesting man. I wish there were more biographies about him.
Very good example of a Christian and a scientist and engineer. Every young person wanting to go into any of those fields should read this book and learn from his diligence, creativity, and generosity.
Written for teenagers, the sentences and topics were sometimes choppy and left you wanting more.
Yes this book was for my fourth grader, but I read it too. Robert Boyle as an individual was fascinating, his life, his role in history, and his many achievements commendable. I personally felt the long winded examples of his scientific experiments were hard to follow, and caused me to lose interest in the book. But that’s probably on me and my lack of a scientific mind 🤷🏽♀️
Read this biography with the boys and we all loved it and learned so much. How neat to learn the back story of “Boyle’s Law” and that he loved the Lord! Robert’s love for and observation of nature is inspiring 💗
