In September, Pope Francis, the Catholic Church’s dynamic leader, will visit the U.S. John L. Allen, the most respected journalist covering the Vatican today, prepares readers for the arrival of this spontaneous and authentic Pope. While Francis is neither a political conservative nor a liberal, he has clear and controversial positions on such issues as immigration, the environment and abortion. The core of this pope’s agenda is to reorient the Catholic Church in new, decisive directions.

Pretty good book. I added this book to Goodreads myself a while back. The analysis of Pope Francis' policies, tendencies, and discussion of his future actions are all very detailed and quite objective compared to news. The author clearly supports many of Francis' policies and hopes them to last, and lays out a coherent argument for his point. And, along the way, I learned several words such as archdiocese and cardinal.
