TA IS A GENTLE CAVEMAN living in the Great Green Forest. He loves playing his drum and eating blueberries drizzled in honey. But there is something he lacks - a friend. So one day he marches out into the dangerous Unknown to look for one. He will end up finding much more than he bargained for.
THE ADVENTURES OF TA AND BODDINGTON is a series of whimsical children’s books set a long, long time ago, when cavemen were inventing society from scratch. Readers of all ages will delight in Ta, the kind-hearted caveman, and Boddington, his unpredictable best friend, as they form a tribe, experiment with inventions, and negotiate a world of mammoths, saber-tooth tigers, and rambunctious neighbors - all captured in gorgeous original watercolor.

My three year old and I have read all four of these books several times over the past year and adore them. There is a tremendous depth here combined with accessibility. As we pick them up once a month or so to read anew there are new things to explore and appreciate.
There are depth here allows us to discuss different things as my son is able to understand more. We can start with friendship and sharing blueberries and over the year move on to more nuanced discussions inventing, feasting/starving, and conservation.
Lastly, we love that there is a multi-book narrative here. These are the first kids books where my son can see characters grow, develop and have new adventures. He recently has been wanting to reread "the thieves one" a lot (book 4 I believe).
I received this book from goodreads for an honest review. I have not been paid.
I adored this book! The author himself also did the illustrations and they were wonderful. Having read many children's books to my twin cousins while they were growing up, you get get accustomed to the steriotypical generic stories at times. This was a change of pace. Highly recommend to mom and dads. Will put a smile on your face. There are also other books that follow this one. Just an FYI.
