Robert Kirkman's first comic books were self-published under his own Funk-o-Tron label. Along with childhood friend Tony Moore, Kirkman created Battle Pope which was published in late 2001. In July of 2002, Robert's first work for another company began, with a 4-part SuperPatriot series for Image, along with Battle Pope backup story artist Cory Walker. Robert's creator-owned projects followed shortly thereafter, including Tech Jacket, Invincible and Walking Dead.

Tech Jacket Vol. 2 Lift Off collects Tech Jacket issues 7-8 and Tech Jacket Digital 1-3. The series is written by Robert Kirkman, Aubrey Sittersson, and Joe Keatinge with art by E.J. Su and Khary Randolph.
The first two issues complete the arc from the first volume and wraps up some loose ends. The second half of the book has Tech Jacket battle evil versions of Invincible from the Invincible War and a new baddie named Null who is trying to steal his armor.
This is a pretty fun series that has a lot sci-fi and space action and would be a great series for teens who are looking for something different than the usual DC or Marvel comics. The art is pretty solid throughout and has a good amount of humor as well.

This was a nice return years later to Tech Jacket. This series doesn’t take itself too seriously, but it does seriously amp up the action in a similar fashion to Invincible, this comic’s parent universe and flagship title. I find it interesting to see Tech Jacket growing up and I’m curious what the remaining two volumes have in store for him.

Zach Thompson is back on Earth! But now his Geldarian benefactors have followed him and inadvertently attracted the attention of a Scavengine - a space scavenger that feeds off the power and raw materials of whatever it can find - and it's just found the Geldarian mothership!
This concludes the story from the original series from about a decade earlier and give us some new material that will launch a new series. While I found the writing to be quite a bit better than the first volume, it still strikes me as something for younger readers. Most of the second part of the story is the Geldarians trapped on Earth for a few weeks which has some nice humor and some good moments between Zach and the Geldarian princess.
The art is also stepped up here. Su does a really nice job with some of the battle scenes and really contributes a lot to the facial expressions in the quieter parts of the main story. I'm a fan of Khary Randolph's take on the character in the new bits, and that intrigues me enough to try the newer issues sometime down the road.
Not bad, but nothing to rush out and read. This one is pretty much recommended only if you wanted to finish off the story from volume one.

Absolutely incredible execution of a badass concept.
Hits all the notes. Made me explode with enjoyment. After reading Iron Man, this is the only comic in recent memory to get the tactical, badass, non-cheesed armored dude on a level like this. Zach is young and inexperienced. Yet, he’ll give 210% of his will into whatever will end up saving people, not a giving a care in the world as to what happens to him. If it comes to be animated, PLEASE GIVE THIS TO AN ANIME-ESQ STUDIO. Y’all need budget for animation and sound design up the wazoo. 11/10. Thank you everyone who worked on this piece of perfection.

There's an almost sex scene and it's revealed that Linn either has a penis or a weird genitalia that Tech Jacket isn't used to and the way they handle it...I don't know. Is it homophobic or is it just handled poorly?

The connection with the Invicible plotline is nice because it adds something to the main story. Apart from that it is rather dull.

Ugh, change of authors and now suddenly this very kid-friendly book has more graphic violence and a truly bullshit "sex" scene. Done.

Iron Man / Nova / Green Lantern-type comic collection
Not having read the first volume of this series is a bit of a disadvantage but explanations are rife during Chapter One. Techjacket is a schoolboy having acquired the Jacket which gives him all sorts of powers. He helps defend the Earth and Geldaria from alien invasion. Zack's relationship with lin develops but an alien called Null is out ot steal his techjacket.
Nicely-drawn and conceived, it is a pleasure to read. Plenty of old-fashioned super-hero action: I just hope that they don't drag this series out as much as Invincible.

Fun
This is a fun little book the concept of the armor reminds me of the gutter unit from Japanese anime. Except, the alien race involved there isn't benevolent they are kind of a neutral party in the battles of earth. If you like sci-fi intergalactic fantasy adventure this is a quick and good read.
