Combining the apostle John's glorious description of Heaven from Revelation with heart-touching reflections on her own father's charming mountain home, Anne Graham Lotz weaves a tapestry of truth through this presentation that will take away your fear of death and fill you with hope for the future. Jesus promised us, "In My Father's house are many rooms...I am going there to prepare a place for you." Amid the turbulence of today's terror-besieged world, we cling to the hope of a heavenly home where we will be welcomed into eternal peace and safety. Anne affirms that Heaven is the home of your a home of lasting value that's fully paid for and filled with family, where you will be wanted and welcomed. Best of all, Heaven is a home you are invited to claim as your own.
Anne Graham Lotz (born May 1948) is an American Christian evangelist. She is the second daughter of evangelist Billy Graham and his wife Ruth Graham. Anne Graham Lotz accepts speaking invitations worldwide, is founder of AnGeL Ministries, and an award-winning author.
I think that this book was good, I just wasn't the target audience. It has some good, Biblical information about Heaven. I especially liked the part where it mentions Heaven as being a place that is bought and paid for. I hadn't thought of that before. :) And it is a short read, so I don't feel that I wasted my time, but I also didn't feel like I learned a whole lot. I much prefer the larger book "Heaven" that is almost a textbook on the subject.
Nothing revolutionary in this book, but it's a good layout of what we can expect in heaven for those who are new to the faith. There are a lot of stories about the Graham family, which are sweet and a nice insight into their lives.
Wonderful and inspiring!!! In this tiny book, lots of questions are answered about Heaven our Fathers Home. The author relates, through scriptures, how heaven will look, who will be there, and the one and only thing we must do to get there when our time comes. Beautiful!!!!!
Anne Graham Lotz's writings are a manifestation of His divine grace. Her exceptional teaching abilities make her a gift to the Christian literary world. Thank you, Anne. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
She writes well, is organized and from a personal viewpoint which I like.
Some quotes: "One day God will remove all the scars and tears; until then, He will give us encouragement."
I liked her illustration about how God can use our suffering. The illustration is of a rowdy atmosphere in a pub. Drinks on a platter are being served but the server is bumped and the drink splatter against a newly whitewashed wall.
A mess is observed until a famous artist in the pub jumps up, outlines the spatters into a creative picture and the upset is appreciated in a new way. Such is God, who can transform our suffering into something meaningful.
Much of the book is taken from her commentary on the book of Revelation. Much of the slant is about God the Father, welcoming us to a home that He has personally had prepared for us, forever.
This book is more meditative than academic; much of it is her collection of thoughts as to what it will be like and how it will feel for her to be welcomed into Heaven by the Father
This is the first book I have ever read of Anne Graham Lotz. She is an amazing writer, I would read any of hers I have been a follower of her father and brother Franklin Graham for years. It's just awesome when you can read the words of her book and makes you feel as if you are part of the story she's writing. I have the book on my kindle so I can reread the book which I will. I'll probably get some more out of the reading. I love to re-read good books and other is always Scripture to back up her writings, in this way it will help the unbeliever to help find Jesus Christ and become a name in the Lamb's Book. I know my name is, is your name? It can be believe, have faith and know your sins can be forgiven too. You won't be disappointed it's a wonderful life and a beautiful relationship. I hope you will read her book it's differently worth the 5 star's.
*Happy sigh!* Oh, how I love this book! Heaven: My Father's House was wonderfully written and so very deep. Throughout this book, Anne listed off things that would and would not be in heaven. With each one my heart cried, "Amen!" Thank you, Anne, for this inspirational book!
Heaven is often thought of as a fairy tale or a false hope, but it's NOT. Heaven it is a real place complete with streets of gold and gates of pearl. It is a place of peace and rest. Any and all are invited, but only those who accept the invitation will be allowed to pass through the gates. Heaven is my Father's house. He's waiting there for me. It can be your future home as well. An invitation has already been given to you by Jesus, himself. Have you accepted it?
I read this book a long time ago and have since gifted it twice. My friend Melanie's mother was dying of cancer. She had a lot of questions, so I gave her my book. I bought it again because it was so good. I ended up sending that copy of the book to my aunt when she was dying. After she passed, my uncle read it. He told me it was very comforting to her in her final days. It's a great book if you've got questions about what happens when you die - and how do you get to heaven, anyway.
Anne Graham Lotz's writing is straight to the point and so easy to understand. She goes straight to the point and explains exactly what the scripture is telling us. She does mince words or sugarcoat it. If you are searching for answers, I high!y recommend her writing.
This is an awesome little book with so much in it about God's love for us, his faithfulness, and how far he went so that we could have a relationship with him. It is very easy to read and understand with all the scripture locations noted. Ann has a real way of reaching you personally and letting you know that God loved you and Jesus wants a relationship with you.
What a great short book to recharge your batteries and remind yourself the goal is heaven. Anne Lotz (Billy Graham's daughter) does a great job explaining what heaven is in a down to earth way. I enjoy her writing style and her way to add lists (without numbers) to explain. 113 pages
This little book was amazing. Anne does a wonderful job pulling from Revelations details about Heaven and what our home will be like, when we, as believers, go home. I would highly recommend it to everyone!
I chose this book because my husband had recently transitioned to heaven. I really desired to know more about what my companion of 54 years was experiencing. This book not only gave me lots of information but comforted me in my grief journey
As Christians we all have our own thoughts of what heaven will be like. Anne take her thoughts and explains heaven in everyday terminology. I will probably read this book again. It is that good!!!
Anne has a way of getting a whole lot of facts out of a short section of scripture. Just when I thought I knew all there was to know about heaven, I read this book and find out more.
Such a helpful, thoughtful book that for myself and the author, Anne, alike has a double meaning this last year or so. Heaven is the one place we know so little about as no-one other than Jesus (and possibly Lazarus) has ever been and then come to earth! However this book clearly draws fully on Scripture to highlight so much that we do know about Our Father's House as told by Jesus Himself and as seen by John's Revelation on Patmos. Anne's words have not only really comforted me, but also reminded me that this life is only temporary and what to come is incomparable in its magnificence!
Good book, the only thing is she kept repeating "In my father's house" and that's okay but how about in "OUR Father's house"? I know she did not mean for it to sound the way it does but for the reader it would seem like we are not included (not the word I really want to use but....)
There were moments this book really drove a beautiful point home. There were other moments that felt very repetitive. Nothing is noteable or unheard of in this book. It’s a good read for new Christians that may have never heard these things before. It’s a quick read and a good reminder of where we, as Gods children, are headed, though! So why not take a day to read up!
Missed the major ideas in the Bible that heaven is about the person/presence of God, New Creation, symbolism in John's descriptions. A little too me/individual focused.
