This is the complete guide for anyone surviving the death of a loved one. Written for both the bereaved and the helping professional, it combines supportive personal stories with a step-bystep approach to recovery. Carol Staudacher is also the author of Men & Grief (MEN)
This was one of the best non-religious books about grief I have read yet. I highly recommend it for those seeking to help a loved one who is grieving. It really expresses well what a grieving person feels like, and how to understand them. It gives helpful suggestions for how to support them. It includes sections on different types of grief: loss of a child, loss of a spouse, suicide, accidental death, etc. I will definitely consult this book again.
This is a great book for anyone who has lost a loved one. I read it after going to therapy with Hospice after the loss of my Dad. It was listed on one of their books to read. I've gifted this book to others as it explains what you feel with grief. Not in a particular order, but phases of grief. It really helped me explain how I was feeling and why I was feeling the way I was.
