Love is the most beautiful thing ever, it haves you feeling all gooey and amazing inside. The bible says “love never fails” so if it fails, it wasn't love and that's exactly what this New York native named Kaliyah found out. She been through hell and back searching for that special love but was being betrayed and nearly dying worth the risk. I guess we can say she was just drunk on love. A Barbie Dahl Original
This book has a lot of potential however there wasn't much build up in the story. Different scenes jump into one another quickly for example in the flashback she was 2 months pregnant and by the next scene the doctor had called and said what the sex of the baby was, but there was no timeline. There were character name mix ups, like first the baby name was Anala, then Aaliyah then she was being called Nala. But then Aaliyah died and Kharma had Anala. The stories flow to me wasn't balanced out. As a reader I want to see that build up, like I want to see Kharma build that relationship with Michael while he's helping her flee from Mark and once it's built then Anala can start calling him daddy. Some stuff as a reader wasn't pulling me in and as much as I wanted to I was not able to finish.
This was a pretty good read. Poor Kaliyah went through Hell and back looking for love. Mark got off too easy. I would have killed him. Michael wasn't any better. Him and India got what they deserved. She had some nerve beating a poor innocent child just because she was being a typical child. I hope that Amari is the one, and that Liyah finally finds the love and happiness she deserves in part 2. I had to take away a star due to the numerous grammatical errors, otherwise this would be a 5
This story was on point, I loved the storyline and this story really pulled at my heartstrings because of everything that Kharma went through with Mark and how she survived and got into another relationship so fast. This story had a lot of twists and turns but Barbie got her point across. I must say that this book was definitely an eye opener and I enjoyed reading this story even if it did get confusing at times. Barbie Dahl this is my first time reading your work and I must say that you did your thing on this one, can't wait for the next part.
I hated the way Mark treated Karma! He was to cruel, then Michael was everything at first but he and India started sleeping together and she was beating on Nala...They got exactly what they deserved, then there's Amari I hope he is what she dreamed about waiting on part 2
