**Greg Rucka!** The ruler of Tevinter has cornered Marius and Tessa into eliminating four high-profile mages within the capital. Yet the closer they come to completing their task, the closer they themselves are drawn toward death! The beginning of a new adventure set in the world of Thedas!
Greg Rucka, is an American comic book writer and novelist, known for his work on such comics as Action Comics, Batwoman: Detective Comics, and the miniseries Superman: World of New Krypton for DC Comics, and for novels such as his Queen & Country series.
This comic series just keeps getting better and better. The relationship between Marius and Tessa is clarified (they're work partners; I had wondered if they were siblings). An unexpected romance brews in this issue, which I loved, then the issue ends with a tie-in to DA: Inquisition. I can't wait to see how it all plays out! Seriously an instant favorite comic.
Ohhh, the intrigue begins! Well, not so much intrigue as in a very nice build-up of what was introduced and teased at in the first issue. I'm definitely loving Tessa – she's my favourite – and Marius is growing on me as well. And, not even going to lie, I've always been a big fan of Calpernia; it never stops disappointing me that you only encounter her on a route where you pick Champions of the Just over In Hushed Whispers in Inquisition.
But! I love that this gives us an idea of where Magekiller sits timeline-wise and holy shit, what an ending! Not that it's really a cliffhanger for me, but that's still a great way to end an issue.
If you're like me and didn't like the first issue, give #2 a chance because this is a big improvement from. Interesting things are actually happening, there's a character from Inquisition we see again, and even the art seems improved. Thank goodness, because I really want to like this series. I mean, it has two things I love: Dragon Age and Greg Rucka.
Just got done reading issues 1 and 2 and absolutely loved them both. So well written that I found myself getting lost in the story like the games and book. Highly recommend reading these if you're a DA fan.
I felt that the story moved a little too quickly in the second comic, but I still really enjoyed it. However, I'm still kind of confused about what the story is supposed to be about - these two characters definitely, but what about them?
