I was given an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

I am in love with the Redemption series, like over the moon, fall to my knees in love! After meeting this great group of friends that endured such a profound loss in “Luke”, I am so happy to see them move past their grief and each of them find love. Anna Scott out did herself with Jake and Hope's story. They are so perfect for one another! I couldn't imagine them being with anyone else. I had been sitting, waiting impatiently with grabby hands to get this book, I can now say it was worth the wait. The characters are beautifully flawed and realistic, the story line is powerful, and the sexy scenes are incendiary! Jake and Hope wooed me from the moment I met them in Luke and complete seduced me in Jake.

Jake Thompson..sigh is dreamy and can go from sweetheart to alpha male protector in 60 seconds. Hope seems to bring this protective/dominant side out in him and while it makes me swoon, it often gets him in trouble with Hope. At least out of the bedroom it did, because in the bed he rocked Hope's world! I loved to see the verbal sparring that would start between them when he would step over the line, sparks would fly and ignite! I absolutely love Jake! What's not to love about a sexy, muscular DEA agent that knows how to cherish his woman and dominate her in the sexiest ways?

Anna gave us a beautiful, strong heroine both inside and out. She has dealt with controlling physically and verbally abusive men all of her life and has broke the chain of abuse and went onto help other abused women. She and Jake have known each other for years. When emotions, need, and grief get the best of them after a friend's funeral, their relationship will never be the same again. Now she is in danger and is trying to assert her independence and no longer be a victim. Hope fills me with awe and admiration for being the strong women that she is while facing such adversity.

I'm sure as you can tell with both Jake and Hope's personalities, the reader is in for an entertaining, hot, suspenseful ride. I highly recommend for lovers of romance that shows women with strength and the fierce men that can enrich their lives and make them even stronger. You don't want to miss out on passion, fiery tempers, and a consuming love. Anna has me hooked on the Redemption series and now I am biting nails, pace around anxious to read about Gavin and Dawn's story. It is like coming home when I read another book about these amazing characters yet each of them has a very different story to tell and Anna masters the craft beautifully. Jake is sure to knock your socks off and give you a new book boyfriend to be giddy about.

I liked this one better than the first, the characters were more mature in their actions. Not that they were perfect, but they acted their age.

Luke and Hope are working through the loss of Nolan and their attractions. Someone is stalking Hope and it's enough to drive him nuts. I liked them together. There was still too much inner dialogue that I thought would have been more organic to have the information come through conversations with the MCs. But overall I'm enjoying this series.

Jake is a sweet hothead. He needed therapy for his misguided guilt.
Hope seemed to bother me towards the last half of the book. Always with the pushing way stuff. How about you sit down and communicate with each other what's not working since you like to be a fraidy cat and just run away from the problems. Ughh. She was in a way slightly better than Aurora for book 1.

Same sort of epilogue we had with book 1 always sort of leaves you in the middle of their life even with the HEA it's not too fulfilling.

Would like to read Gavin and Dawns book though. Maybe they will have a smoother HEA since they've already had such a big misunderstanding.

Jake Thompson is a hot mess. He's temperamental, grieving the loss of a good friend, and seriously lusting after Hope Lewis. Hope is cautious since she's been burned in the past, and shy by nature, but she can't deny the attraction she feels toward sexy, alpha Jake. Now someone is leaving frightening messages and gifts for her. Hopefully Jake's take-charge approach to protecting Hope won't alienate her. This is a stand-alone and the second book in the steamy, sweet, suspenseful, moving Redemption Romance Series.

A very emotional journey. Reading Jake made me realise just how much of guilt one can carry when we think we could've helped somone close to us. And reading about Hope's struggles made me realise just how much emotional and sometimes physical pain we experience in the quest for love. It was such a tear jerking journey and I can't wait to read the rest in this series.

The book was frustrating. I wanted Hope to open her mouth and say what was happening right away, but I understood why she didn't. I just wish every woman going through that had a Jake in their corner. However the author did a great job making the characters so relatable. I can't wait for the next one to come out.

I received an ARC in exchange for my honest review of Jake A Redemption Romance. Having previously read Luke which is the first in the series I really wanted to to see what makes Jake tick. Your first impression of Jake is that he is a jerk in a downward spiral and who doesn’t love a redeeming character fighting to get out of their own negative way which you will get in spades with this book. Jake is still tormented over the loss of his best friend in war and more recently his friend who committed suicide.

“Please, let me do something. I can’t fail another person in my life right now.”

Jake has had an attraction to Hope for some time now and finally gets to act on it one night only to be ignored right afterwards. One morning Jake goes to Hope’s house only to discover she might be in danger and he wants to do anything in his power to help protect her. Now don’t get me wrong Jake takes all the right steps to protect Hope but being the alpha male that he is you just know he is going to create some hostility for them.

‘I wanted to stand at the gates and protect her from any evil that would come her way.’

One of the reasons I really love this series is the female leads are strong and refuse to taking any bull from their alpha males. Hope is a councilor who works at a shelter for abused women and children. She has made it her life’s work to help people get through their darkest times even though she has had to live through some of her own. Due to this she has walls higher than most and takes longer to trust.

“Stay with me, Hope. I want to keep you safe and I want to see if I can break those walls of yours down. Will you let me try?”

This book had a bit of everything and kept you on your toes. Jake and Hope’s relationship hits most of the extremes and really makes you rooting for them in the end. One thing this book had that I loved was lots of suspense from the danger that Hope is in. You also get the pleasure of seeing future budding relationships with the other guys. Oh and not to mention lot of hot scenes that you won’t mind reading twice!!

‘He was really good at being the comforter. I wonder if anyone else had ever seen this side of Jake.’

This is book 2 in the Redemption series. I absolutely loved Jake and Hope together. Hope had a past that she strives to overcome and went on to help others with that same struggle while counseling others at the shelter. Jake was angry at the world after coming home from the war and is fighting feeling he has for Hope. Then he discovered Hope is receiving threats. Can Jake and Hope heal each other while he keeps her safe? One-click this series now, you won't regret it!

So much angst & drama from a hot alpha kind of guy. Hope was awesome - not a bit of weakness in her.
