Kathleen Callahan joins the Grey Justice Group as a security operative following a personal traumatic event and is assigned to work with Eli Slater. After the fall of his father and brother, he's receiving death threats that include his two young daughters so he hires Kathleen to protect them. She has no idea that Eli orchestrated all this from the first moment he saw her.

I was glad that the saga regarding the Slater family continued in this story as there was so much unfinished business from the earlier book. The mystery surrounding the threats against Eli and his girls was puzzling and I enjoyed trying to unravel and solve it. Eli and Kathleen are strong, admirable characters, both with heartbreaking histories. Grey Justice continues to be an enigma and I'm dying to read his story.

I really like this series and story, especially its premise and characters. While they have noble objectives, they also have lots of flaws and imperfections...a perfect recipe for intriguing and interest stories. This wasn't as suspenseful as the first book but it still kept me just as engaged. There are a couple of storylines left unresolved (no cliffhangers) so I'm definitely looking forward to the next book.

Christy Reece has once again given readers a page-turner full of suspense and intrigue, along with a new romantic relationship in the second-in-series installment to her highly-addictive Grey Justice Series. It is everything you crave in a romantic suspense and her writing voice hooks me every time.

Following on the heels of the debut Nothing to Lose, where we met Eli Slater originally along with other family members, now he and Kathleen Callahan walk the path to justice, working separately and together, towards solving crimes that still plague the Slater family and a murder charge against Kathleen's younger sister who was killed in the courtroom during her trial. Evil is sometimes right around the corner waiting to tear innocent lives apart while threatening a happiness that's only just begun. The excitement of suspense intertwined with the sweetness of new passion melds into an intricate and engrossing plot.

Of course, readers will get another peek at the mysterious Grey Justice, still shrouded in a secretive past, when Eli looks to him for help. The beautiful and fleeing Irelyn Raine once again makes an appearance when she shows up in the middle of a dinner party amid gunfire revving up my fascination with her character only more. Between these two, I’m practically salivating to get more information on them both and their pasts.

Enthusiastic acclamations for this author's skills and talents in once again creating a cast of wonderfully appealing protagonists that includes a couple of mini-sized characters who will charm and delight, combined with a clever, skillfully crafted conspiracy, and a romance that readers will find sensually soul-stirring. And, as her readers expect, Reece's evildoers remain the “baddest”! Romantic suspense at its very best always!

Never in his life had he had such a visceral reaction to a woman. Something about Kathleen Callahan called to him, compelled him to know more.

We met Eli Slater in the previous book and he was very sexy especially with his love for his daughters and how he tried to do the right thing, putting a stop to his father and older brother’s evil empire. And in this book he was even sexier, working so hard for the last year to turn their family name into something good, something his daughters would be proud of someday. I loved his immediate reaction to Kathleen and how persistent he was to make her his!! And the way he took care of her, trying to make her life easier, just made me love him even more.

Why did this one man, with his strength, tenacity, and elegance, threaten her equilibrium?

Kathleen Callahan is a security specialist, who started training very young when her father, who was a renowned thief taught her all his skills. But Kathleen uses her knowledge to protect others and the fact that she couldn’t protect her sister who she basically raised herself devastates her. Determined to get justice for her sister she accepts a job from Grey Justice, working in his shadowy division of the Grey Justice Group. Kathleen has learned to keep herself detached from others, to never again risk caring for anyone, but wealthy businessman Eli Slater threatens her perfect composure. And accepting his job offer of keeping his daughters safe, makes it even harder to resist his charm and the feelings he makes her feel. I really liked Kathleen, how tough and vulnerable she was. And even though I sometimes did get frustrated with her continuous pushing away of Eli, I could understand why she felt that way.

She was attracted to him and fighting it with every breath she took. It had been years since he’d wooed a woman. He was so out of practice he found himself wishing that caveman-style wooing was still an acceptable practice, because his body was urging him to forgo the social niceties.

I love instant attractions and Eli’s reaction when he saw Kathleen for the first time was awesome! It was so romantic how determined he was to pursue her, to get her to give him a chance. Their romance was sweet and sexy and I loved watching Eli break through Kathleen’s walls, forcing her to take a chance on him.

Christy Reece always writes such emotion in her books and this book was very sad, especially in the beginning and what happened with Kathleen’s sister. The story was gripping and suspenseful, with Eli and Kathleen trying to keep his daughters safe and trying to figure out who was threatening him and working together with Grey to find the person who was suddenly killing certain people and finding out why before it was too late. I also really liked the secondary characters and Jonah, Eli’s brother, who is now so bitter and angry after being wrongly imprisoned and his fiancé killed on orders from his father, is definitely a character I would like to know more about.

Their relationship, complicated and tumultuous, had lasted longer than many marriages. He had alternated between hatred and adoration for most of that time. No one but the two of them knew the truth of how they began. And no one would understand nor, he figured, comprehend their strange relationship. It had worked for them, though. Or at least, it once had.

Grey Justice and Irelyn Raine continues to fascinate me. After she walked out on him in the previous book I had wondered what was going to happen next and I must say with every little bit revealed about their past, I just get more intrigued. Their relationships is so explosive, full of so many emotions – anger, hate, pain, lust and love and I really need to read their story!!!

I’m really loving this series and in typical Christy Reece fashion she’s written another captivating and sexy book full of suspense, intrigue and a terrific romance. Highly recommended to all RS fans.

Twist and turns galore along with surprises and more intrigue when it comes to Grey Justice. The story keeps you on your toes and turning to pages to see what's going to happen next.

Eli Slater was not the main character in the first book in the series but its his family that is predominate in each of the books. Eli was a part of bringing his ruthless evil father and older brother down in the first book. Having done that he was left with cleaning up their mess in the business world. Being a single father of two girls he wants to restore his family name to something honorable. While away on business he becomes enthralled with a woman he sees on TV and her plight to save her sister from murder charges.

Kathleen Callahan and her sister were raised by a thief and eventually in foster care when he went to prison. Kathleen tried her best to raise and do the right thing for her sister but her sister rebelled and went down a bad path. Kathleen decided early on she wasnt going to be a victim and learned how to defend herself and be a good bodyguard as a profession. After a set of circumstances Grey Justice offers her a job.

Eli and Kathleen's lives intersect with some coercion from Eli but neither could have known they were both on a collision course with something very deadly.

I love this authors writing and how she just captivates you with her stories and characters. At the end your still wanting more and with all the loose threads you know your going to get many more exciting stories.

WHATEVER IT TAKES by Christy Reece continues the ongoing story of Grey Justice’s efforts to help people find the justice they deserve. The author introduces her female protagonist Kathleen Callahan, giving readers’ details of her backstory and her family’s tainted history. She helps readers understand Kathleen’s commitment to her sister who is on trial for murder. Readers meet Reece’s male protagonist Eli Slater, giving details of the Slater family and their criminal history. With the help of The Grey Justice Group, Eli Slater was able to clean-up the Slater’s businesses. Eli’s efforts to legitimize the Slater name made him and his two daughters targets of Eli’s father’s enemies. Reece skillfully unfolds events bringing Kathleen’s troubles to Eli’s attention. Eli asks Grey Justice to reach out to help Kathleen. She describes Eli’s efforts to manipulate Kathleen’s future and how she decides to deal with his manipulations.

The author’s unknown antagonist enters her storyline seeking revenge against Eli and others. The antagonist has a keen interest in eliminating Kathleen and the entire Slater family. She adds several essential key support characters, giving readers details of each character’s backstory and their roles they play as they enter the storyline. Several subplots are built around cases of the Grey Justice Group. The subplots add direction changes to the story and it is interesting how Reece weaves them to be part of the main plot.

Reece keeps increasing the pace of the story involving readers in the events as they unfold, moving the story’s focus on Eli, Kathleen, and Eli’s family and the dangers they face. Readers follow the growth of each character and the pace of the plot continues. The author provides a sense of family and relationships creating a story with characters coming to life as if readers are watching a motion picture. WHATEVER IT TAKES gives readers a story of suspense and romance and in true Christy Reece style, a breathtaking ending. A must read earning a ranking of 5-stars.

I received and advance copy of WHATEVER IT TAKES in exchange for and honest review.

I loved the story, and the characters. I really liked that Kathleen and Eli didn’t just fall in love and in bed but it was a process. The woman had been through so much and if they just hit it off right away, that would have taken away from the complexity of the story, I think.

I liked being able to see a little more of Grey’s life, and getting to know him a bit more. I am really curious how his story will play out.

So many twists and turns, it was like a maze but I couldn’t wait to keep reading, I loved it.

This is a great addition to the Grey Justice series. I've been looking forward to Eli's story and Christy Reece certainly delivered. I don't leave spoiler reviews, because I want everyone to go into a story without a hint of what's to come. This is a wonderful story that will leave you begging for more Grey Justice books.

The second book in the Grey Justice series by Christy Reece. After her sister's murder, Kathleen Callahan goes to work for Grey Justice in hopes of finding the truth behind her sister's death. One of her jobs ends up being a bodyguard for Eli Slater's daughters. Eli was the one to bring Kathleen to Grey's notice. Eli had been getting threatening notes and he wants the best protecting his girls.

Great addition to the series. The books in this series are not cliffhangers but they are connected by characters. Christy Reece is one of those writers who I haven't found a bad book from yet. Going on to the next in the series!

This is the second book of the Grey Justice suspense series by Christy Reece. Once I started it I couldn’t put it down. This story is about Kathleen Callahan, who works for the shadowy division of the Grey Justice Group. Her job is to stay detached were she has learned to compartmentalized everything in her life. But there has only been one person who has been able break through her defenses, and that is Eli Slater. To whom she fights to resist him in every way possible.

Eli Slater has been working so very hard to overcome his family’s past and to repair the damage that they had caused. Than one day a security specialist named Kathleen Callahan enter into the picture. Even when she rejects him Eli is relentless in his pursuit and determined to make her his own.

The action and suspense and romance will keep you turning the pages. I do not want to give too much of the story away, but there are twists and turns in the entire book. Christy, writing is so good that she keeps you hook until the very end. You think that you have everything all figure out but Christy knows how to keep you in suspense until the very last page. I highly recommend this book. Whatever It Takes is a roller coaster ride from beginning to end.

Ermahgawd...this book was perfection!

LOVED, LOVED, LOVED!!!!

First off Eli...THUD.

And the heroine was total badass too.

From the very first page until the end it was a wild, amazing, action filled ride.

Did I say how much I LOVED this book.

When it releases, I will say more BUT you must read this series because....JUSTICE is another...THUD.

Okay...Release time.

This second book is a MUST read...a MUST. This series is so fantastic. Christy Reece writes characters that literally leap off the pages. While submerged in this book you go on a ride, literally. Eli and Kathleen are both strong willed and dynamic characters. If you are a lover of romantic suspense then this is must, must, must read.

The second book in the Grey Justice series is another great read. Eli and Kathleen are a good pair. Kathleen can hold her own and kick ass with the best of them. There were enough twists and turns to keep me virtually turning the pages and the reveals at the end brought things together beautifully.

I also loved seeing more of Grey Justice and Irelyn. I can't wait for their story.

Christy Reece is an autobuy author for me and I suggest she becomes one for you as well.

I received a complimentary book from the author in exchange for an honest review.

This is the second book of the Grey Justice suspense series by Christy Reece, and it is absolutely fantastic. Once I started it I couldn’t put it down. By-the-way, I have to add that I had just been diagnosed with pneumonia and was bedridden during that time. In spite of that, I finished it in one day.

The heroine in this book is Kathleen Creighton whose sister is on trial for murder. Kathleen believes her sister has been framed and will do anything to help her sister. Unfortunately, the trial ends badly and Kathleen, now alone, moves on to join the Grey Justice Group.

The hero is Eli Slater whose family is made up of criminals. He and one of his brothers are the only “normal” family members. In fact, the criminals in his family were the “bad guys” in the author’s first book, Nothing to Lose. In this story, someone has threatened Eli and his two young daughters, and he wants to get a bodyguard for them while he tries to clear up this problem with him and his daughter. It turns out that he wants Kathleen to be his daughter’s bodyguards and reaches out to Grey Justice, a personal friend of his, to help him get her.

Thus begins one of the best romantic suspense book I have read since…okay – Nothing to Lose. The action, the suspense and the romance is non-stop. I do not want to give too much away, but there are twists and turns throughout the entire book. And I happily was not able to figure out the ending until I actually got there!

I definitely feel that you need to read Nothing to Lose first because we meet Grey Justice, Eli Slater and his family and other characters throughout that book. This adds significantly to the enjoyment of this book..
I highly recommend this book. Whatever It Takes is a roller coaster ride from beginning to end. And Grey Justice himself is so mysterious that I can’t wait to read his story. Unfortunately, I have a feeling that may be the end of the series. I sincerely hope not!

This is the second book in the Grey Justice series and it did not disappoint!
Eli Slater has spent a year cleaning up the mess and working to repair the damages his father and brother have made. For a year his only focus has been his children and his work, that is until the day he spots Kathleen Callahan on a Television news report. Something inside him is drawn to her like no other and he is determined to see this feeling through.
Kathleen Callahan's life has not been easy and to protect herself she has learned to shut down her wants and needs. Trained as a security consultant she begins working for Grey Justice in order to get to the truth about the murder her sister is convicted of.
Eli arranges with Grey to have Kathleen come and work for him to help protect his children after threats have been made on his and their lives and the story heats up from there!
This book is full of both romance and suspense as these two characters work to find out where the threats are coming from and Eli works to break down the barriers Kathleen has put up to keep her heart safe.
I am excited to see more of this series and learn more about the shadowy Grey Justice!

I started off my first review of the Grey Justice Series “Nothing To Lose”, with the following -

“Funny thing about humans is, at our best we can be the most noble of animals, but if not governed by law and justice, some tend to become the monsters of all monsters! Money, power and fame are not vices in the right hands, but once they get into the monsters’ hands, and innocent lives are at stake, it’s a different ball game.”

And the domino affect of this is the very essence of the following stories of the entire series written by Christy Reece.

As a member of that very evil family, Eli Slater has been working nonstop to clear the family name, destroy the traces of evil, leave the shadows of a past that threaten his future, and create a life for his two adorable daughters and the rest of his family. But when unforeseen threats bring danger and death to his threshold, Eli will protect his family…

Until his last breath – with whatever he’s got and “Whatever It Takes!!!”

Kathleen Callahan has been in the best of places and the worst of places as she loses her sister to an evil with justice going against her and her entire life is on a precipice of pain and betrayal. Yet, she finds herself fighting for justice, with the help of Justice and accepting the inevitable shades of Grey to help innocent victims and bring closer to helpless families. But never giving up her fight to find the truth behind her sister’s death and the events two decades old that seem to connect Eli and Kathleen for the fight of their lives and that of their loved ones…

And she will get justice for her sister with tenacity and “Whatever It Takes!!!”

There is no doubting the writing prowess of Christy Reece!!!! Her ability to create characters with courage, integrity and empathy, her brilliance in weaving stories of loss and pain, see-sawing between the lines of white and black, connecting the players with the past and bringing a closer in the present for a future for each, Christy is one of the most compelling writers of romance thrillers I’ve had the pleasure or reading.

I am a sucker for the underdog and the fallen rising with a vengeance to beat the odds, and of women who overcome their fears and betrayal to come out the other side with courage and integrity. For this alone Eli Slater will be one of most favorite fictional characters and along with Kathleen, one of my courageous couples of fiction times!

And let me assure you that each book can be read as a standalone, but what fun is it if not knowing where it had all begun…

Received an ARC from the author for an honest review.

I received a free review copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. I really hope that you read the other stories in this series. Kathleen has had nothing but heartache. Her sister is accused of murder and she is doing everything she can until her sister is shot. Her life then falls apart even further because Kathleen raised her sister from birth and can't find it in herself to let herself get close to anyone else. Eli Slater is trying to fix the damage that his father and brothers have done to a lot of people. Now there is a killer going after Eli. Eli is trying to protect his family so he hires Kathleen to protect his daughters. He and Justice try to find out where the threat is coming from. As the danger closes in, the killer is getting braver, or so it seems. The danger increases now Kathleen has been added to the list to be assassinated.

Absolutely awesome author. I love all of her books so I might be a bit partial, but I enjoy everyone. This series had a number of underlying themes that are continued from the first book but does not threaten the story whatsoever. It is integrated well into the story so you don't miss anything. The story keeps going and covers all the bases and gives the characters time to adjust which is where shorter stories loose out. Well written, lots of action, romance, and a billionaire that acts like a man should instead of acting spoiled. He's awesome, built, and hell on wheels, but so is Kathleen. This book is well worth the read. The author does an incredible job with the story and you know the characters well. You are actually wanting the bad guy to get his. Enjoy.

Whatever It Takes by Christy Reece is the second book in the Grey Justice series, and was just as enticing as the first! The plot is suspenseful, intriguing and the writing is smooth and very well paced.

It seems like fate brought Eli and Kathleen together...as soon as Eli saw Kathleen he just knew he wanted to be with her. When they do finally meet and start working together, an attraction is there for both of them, but neither of them rushes into anything. They are both determined to find answers to the evils their families have been subject to, and answers to questions that haunt them. I liked the strong suspense and mystery in Whatever It Takes, with romance woven in more subtly. I liked the build up of their relationship. It didn't feel rushed, nor did it feel like it was taking too long. Eli and Kathleen are strong main characters who have a very bumpy road in front of them to navigate first, and it was an exhilarating journey to be on with them.

The plot intensifies as the book progresses, and the danger felt real. I wasn't sure which way this would go and couldn't read fast enough! I felt like I was immersed in Eli and Kathleen's world.

I liked the smooth continuation from book one (which I highly recommend you read first), and that Whatever It Takes is it's own story, but enough is left unknown to carry on to the next book in this series (no cliffhanger!). I loved the secondary characters, especially the mysterious Grey Justice who I cannot wait to read more about!!

I'd recommend Whatever It Takes to any romantic suspense reader.

The second book in the Grey Justice series features Eli Slater who has repaired the damage his father and older brother created and is working to restore his family name. He is a hands-on father who will do whatever he has to do to protect his children. Kathleen Callahan is seeking justice for her sister’s murder charge and comes to Eli’s attention via a news report. He is captivated and fascinated by her. With the help from his friend Grey Justice and a bit of manipulation from Eli, Kathleen finds herself working with Eli along with Grey Justice to find out who is threatening his family. Little do they know, Kathleen is also a target. Nick and Kennedy Gallagher, book ones’ hero and heroine, are also assisting with their expertise. Grey and Irelyn are not as prominent in this book but there’s enough in there to keep you guessing on their past and wanting more from them. While this can be read as a standalone, I highly recommend reading book 1, Nothing to Lose to get the full backstory. Christy is a wonderful writer who stories draw you in and leave you breathless. She consistently delivers great romantic suspense novels. The story keeps you enthralled and is a page turner. One of the many things you can expect from a Christy Reece novel is that they are full of “meat”. So many twists, turns, surprises, and suspense. To me, she does not produce a once read and done novel. There’s much to mull over and are thrilling to read.

Another Winner

Kathleen was a security specialist. When her sister is accused of murder, she sells everything to pay for her attorney and moves to Chicago to be closer to her. When she's found guilty, someone shoots her in the courthouse. A piece of the bullet is near her heart. But a woman dressed as a nurse goes in and poisons her. Kathleen is devastated. Justice offers her a job and help in clearing her sister's name.
Eli has two little girls and has been receiving threatening emails. He knows someone wants him dead but he can't figure who or why. His father and brother were very bad men. With his father dead and brother in jail, it could be any number of people wanting revenge. He talks Kathleen into being a bodyguard for his girls. But soon realizes he must get them out of the country until they find out who wants them dead.
Together with Justice, Nick and Kennedy Gallagher they will find who put the hit out on them and the assassin doing the killing.
Plenty of secrets, surprises, edge of your seat suspense, love and loss.

I am a true fan of all that Christy Reece writes, just so you know. I have thoroughly enjoyed every series from the beginning and usually fall back to re-read when material is low. Her newest series, Grey Justice, is starting out to be another hit! From the very beginning of the first book, her character development and ability to lay out plot lines without giving all the information away up front is amazing. All the while we are learning these new, interesting people and their intricate relationships, she adds the mysterious Mr. Justice to draw us along. I just can't wait to read his story! In Whatever It Takes, we follow another member of the Slater family from Nothing to Lose. We also get a true heroine who makes you want to jump up and down and shout for her!! I won't give away any spoilers but I encourage anyone who loves a good suspenseful, sexy (but not too much), heartwarming story to start this series. Kudos, Christy!

This is the second book in the Grey Justice series. Kathleen Callahan is devastated when her sister is convicted of murder. She has come to the attention of the Justice group because they think her sister might have been framed. She ends up working for them as they try to find out more about her sisters case. Eli Slater comes from a notorious family. His Father was ruthless and would stop at nothing, not even framing a son and sending him to jail. Now the Father is dead, a brother is in jail and Eli's been working to legitimize the family businesses. He has 2 young daughters that have to carry the name and he wants to give them a chance at a normal life. When Eli starts getting e mail threats he becomes even more concerned for his daughters safety. He increases security by hiring Kathleen part time to help out. This book is full of suspense, romance, twists and turns with an ending I didn't see coming. A great romantic suspense.

OUTSTANDING action packed - could not put down - AWESOME story. Loved Kathleen and Eli right from the start!
As I had already read "Nothing To Lose", was excited to see Kennedy and Nick (and of course!) Grey joining up to try and find who was on this vendetta killing spree.
Never a dull moment - never put my kindle down! Development of the storyline was Superb!
Sophia and Violet brought humor and the human element to Eli. Woven perfectly throughout the whole story.

Can't wait to read Jonah's story and also to find out more about the mysterious Irelyn Raine and Grey!

Highly recommend this series. Any Romantic Suspense fan is going to love it!

A must read!!

This is the second book in the Grey Justice series. Christy Reece has once again provided another page turner. She is one of the best romantic suspense authors I've had the privilege to read. While her books do contain a fair amount of romance, they tend to lean more into suspense. I had a very had time putting this book down, I just knew if I read another page or two, I'd figure out who the bad guy was.
To fully appreciate this book, I suggest you read the first book in the series, Nothing to Lose.

Whatever It Takes by Christy Reece is a fast pace thrill ride. This book is like being on a roller coaster, you don't want it to end. Christy is one of the best author I have ever read when it comes to suspense writing she hooks you and doesn't let go until the end. Her characters are so well developed in the stories you feel like you know them personally. I am loving this new series Grey Justice. I highly recommend this book and the series, make sure to grab a copy.

I was given an ARC of this book, for my honest review.

This is the second book of the Grey Justice Series, and it was another winner!!! There was suspense, mystery, romance and a whole lot of speculation going on. Several points throughout the book I was having to put it down, breathe and think about what was going to happen next. I love books that keep you guessing and Whatever it Takes fits that bill!!

5 stars. Romance and suspense fulfilled

What a page Turner. I can't wait for the next book in this series. As with all Christy's books, you can't put it down. The romance and suspense is from start to finish. I highly recommend this book, along with all the books she has written

This is a very good book. The second book in the Justice series really hit the spot and took me on a thrilling ride of murder and mayhem. Christy Reece has the ability to weave a great tale and this book is no exception. I am looking forward to another book in this series.
