Worst. Day. Ever. After Lyssa Barnett’s sister tricks her into reprising her role at Snowflake Valley's annual children's party, she doesn’t think anything can be worse than squeezing into her too-small elf costume. Then tall, dark, and way too handsome Nick Tavlock shows up to play Santa...and an unexpected storm leaves them snowbound in the isolated lodge.
The last thing Nick wants is to spend a cozy Christmas Eve with a trio of kids and the woman who dumped him. But as much as Lyssa frustrates him, he can't stop thinking about her. And soon, he's fighting very un-Santa-like thoughts of kissing a certain sexy Miss Elf under the mistletoe. As Nick starts to fall for Lyssa all over again, he knows it will take nothing short of a miracle to have Lyssa inhis arms on Christmas Day.
Each book in the Snowflake Valley series is a STANDALONE story that can be enjoyed out of order. * Snowbound with Mr. Wrong * One Week to Win Her Boss
About me: my faves in life are chocolate, romance, and reading - and, of course, my DH (dear husband). ;) Exercise and housework...well, not so much.
About the writing: Short contemporary, small-town romance, usually with kids, quirky characters, and a touch of humor. All my books, even in series, are stand-alones with each hero and heroine reaching their Happy Ever After by the end of their story.
Harlequin Western Romance: The current series is The Hitching Post Hotel, a honeymoon destination set on a ranch owned by a matchmaking grandpa. The latest books are The Cowboy's Triple Surprise and The Rancher's Baby Proposal.
Entangled Bliss: This is a fun, sweet series called Snowflake Valley, set in a small town that caters to tourists 365 days a year and featuring the "bad-luck Barnett" sisters. Look for Snowbound with Mr. Wrong and the new release, One Week to Win Her Boss.

Snowbound with Mr.Wrong was an okay second chance read. The storyline held my interest, I found myself turning the pages until the end, but something was missing. Makes me sad to say this, while I enjoyed the storyline, I failed to form a connection with the characters, especially Nick. Not sure what it was exactly but I just didn't feel him and he left me wondering how deep his love truly was for Lyssa. (pls don't let this deter you from reading this book, I'm just being honest on how I felt.)
Overall, Snowbound with Mr.Wrong was a sweet second chance romance that will make a nice read over the holiday season.

I was interested with the blurb for this one because I am a sucker for the one who got away theme. Plus it is a holiday book. Unfortunately, this book failed to made me believe in the couple or to root for them to get back together.
The story didn't immediately told readers about the reason why Lyssa and Nick didn't work. However, after a while, I could conclude that it was because they were too different. Apparently Lyssa loved her small-town, her family, her traditions, while Nick cared more about his job as a troubleshooter (huh, I almost never heard this job description in romance before). He often put his job ahead of her.
And as I further read it, I could feel that ... I mean, I didn't feel the chemistry, the emotional connection between them. It felt as cold as winter snow. This was one relationship in which I thought that the couple was probably better apart because of their differences.
The biggest problem for me was the hero, Nick. From the beginning, from his answers towards the kids as he was roped into being Santa, I thought he was rather rude. It was difficult for me to understand what Lyssa saw in him, that made them involved in a relationship in the first place. I mean, read Nick reaction to when Lyssa was trying to help him with his boot (he hurt his ankle)
“What, having a madwoman trying to amputate my foot with a dull shoestring? Yeah, it hurts like hell.”
You should see my face! What the hell wrong with this guy! Usually, with rude/jerk characters in a romance, we will be presented with 'layers', so we could see what shaped the hero (or heroine) to act like so. But I didn't get this from the book.
The only thing that I loved in this book was the kids. Tommy, most especially, was so adorable. Mollie was sweet, and Brent was a good teenager. Lyssa was rather plain as a heroine, and she didn't have strong enough personality to get rid of the bad taste in my mouth for Nick's attitude.

Snowbound with Mr. Wrong is a second chance at romance. In it, you will meet Nick and Lyssa. At first glance, these two were okay. There wasn't anything wrong with them, but I wasn't completely invested in their relationship either. They were cute and that's about it.
As for the romance, it was okay too. Again, nothing really spectacular about it. It was honestly a cute holiday romcom and I can totally see this becoming movie. It's just, it felt like, okay - something was clearly missing for me.
Other than that, it was easy book to read and follow along with. Even if the ending could have used an epilogue or something because it felt a tad bit rushed (for me).
Who's in the mood for a second chance holiday romance?!? Lyssa is already having a bad day, the elf suit seems much tighter than it was last year when...nope she's not thinking of then. Then it gets worse when she hears Santa's voice, it can't be! but you know it is...Nick the man she met and fell for last Christmas only to end the relationship 6 months ago. Neither was expecting to see the other, no matter how much they couldn't get each other out of their heads. But it's Christmas and stranded in the house with a 3 children of various ages they will have to confront the things that neither really talked about.
I loved the character of Lyssa. She truly was beautiful on the inside as well as the outside. The things she came up with to amuse the children were great. Her only flaw was that she only saw one side of things when it came to Nick - her side. Nick didn't have the same upbringing as Lyssa and therefore didn't understand the perspective she came at things from and vice versa. This was their biggest issue - neither being wrong, but neither being right either. Will Nick and Lyssa find a middle ground? Will the children make it home for Christmas?....grab a cup of hot chocolate, light the fire, sit back and relax and read this second chance romance and find out.
Lyssa has still not gotten over her ex . While playing a elf at a christmas party, she gets a shock when Santa walks in. Its none other than her Nick her ex. Nick is shocked to see Lyssa too. He wasn't expecting it when Lyssa ended the relationship. He thought the relationship was going well. Lyssa and Nick are two very different people, with very different values. I did wonder if they were too different to make it work. After the party has ended, Lyssa starts to drive down the mountain with Nick and three kids. Hoping to make it before the snowstorm starts. When a tree falls in their path they have no choice but to trek back to the cabin. Lyssa has her hands full caring for three children and an incapacitated Nick. She has to keep the kids entertained and deal with her growing emotions about Nick. The only thing about Nick that annoyed me was his constant referring to his job as a trouble shooter. It got grating in the end. Whether it was being snowbound or the magic of Christmas, feelings started to bloom again , for both parties. Can they learn to compromise and meet each other halfway? An enjoyable Christmas read. If you love second chance romances then pick this up. Received an advance reader copy in exchange for a fair review
After reading SNOWBOUND WITH MR. WRONG, it reminds me of what too many people forget about all year, especially this time of year. Showing you care comes from the heart and any relationship whether it's a love relationship, family, friends, or even co-workers it's always a compromise. This was a GREAT heartfelt holiday story that makes you smile. It was my first Barbara White Daille story, but I want to see what her other stories entail. Lyssa is coerced into being Miss Elf again this year, by her sister Amber for her annual Christmas gathering for the children of Snowflake Valley. The only reason she agreed was because Amber needed her help, and she promised he wouldn't be playing Santa this year. The minute she heard Santa say "HO HO HO" she was going to kill her sister, she'd recognize that voice anywhere. It was Nick, the same jolly ol' elf she'd met at this same party last year, had a whirlwind romance with and then split up with a few months ago. Yep her sister was gonna pay for this! The minute he walked into the room and seen her, someone was gonna pay! His business associate Michael and so called friend, convinced him to play Santa again this year. Michael gave him his word that there'd be a new elf this year. No matter how he tried to convince himself, he wasn't over Lyssa, no one could take her place. As soon as he finished this gig he was out of here and away from her again, for good this time. However Mother Nature had other plans. With a blizzard on the way, everyone packed up and hit the road off the mountain. Lyssa, Nick and three children end up stuck at the lodge, with no phone service until they can be rescued. At least they have shelter, food, water, heat and a generator just in case. How will things turn out between Nick and Lyssa? I loved how Nick dealt with situations with each of the children that surprised Lyssa in the process. Did she really know him, or give him a chance before walking away? You'll have to read SNOWBOUND WITH MR. WRONG to find out what happens. While relaxing and reading this HEA love story, I dreamed of being stuck in a blizzard instead of the rain. I hope you do as well. I received an ARC via Entangled Publishing and IndieSagePR through NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
FAVORITE PASSAGES ~ - That just shows you what amazing things can happen when people compromise. - the best way to show you care is to give gifts that are both meaningful and come from the heart. - All for one and all for me.
‘Tis the season for holiday romances and when I heard Barbara White Daille wrote a contemporary holiday romance, I jumped at the chance to read it. Thank you to Netgalley and Entangled Bliss for offering me an ARC in the hopes I’d review it.
Lyssa agreed to reprise her role as Elf on the promise that Nick didn’t play Santa. So, when Santa makes his big arrival (and it turns out to be Nick, the only man who’s ever broken her heart), Lyssa wants to flee. But Amber has a sick child and needs to leave the party so Lyssa is in charge and in far too close proximity to Nick.
One look at Lyssa dressed up as an Elf has Nick sweating and it’s not because he’s dressed up as Santa. Just being around Lyssa brings back all those feelings he buried long ago. His libido is in overdrive but get cooled quickly when he’s stranded with Lyssa and a few kids in the cabin, thanks to a snowstorm. He knows she wants him, too, but can he prove to her he’s worth her love and forgiveness or is Santa doomed to be cast as the villain in Lyssa’s eyes?
I love this couple and the circumstances Daille thrusts them in. Talk about a conflicted romance. There’s a lot of misunderstandings between Nick and Lyssa and they need to start talking to each other (and not at each other) before they can even start exploring these romantic feelings. This is a true holiday romantic comedy and I must admit, I chuckled during the crafting scenes.
With dashes of comedy, holiday fun and romance, Snowbound with Mr. Wrong is the right book to read this holiday season.
This is not a story that really grabbed me it was a cute sweet read. It starts out really good but is just missing something. Two people who have dated in the past end up being Santa and his elf neither wanted to see each other and are very surprised to see the other one. As they go to leave due to the snow that is coming Nick gets hurt which puts Lyssa trying to take care of him, the kids that need to go home to their parents, putting away all the party food, and get back off the mountain before it snows. They work their way down the mountain through the snow fall only to get stopped by a tree. Having no way to get home they most go back up the mountain, trying to stay out of each other’s way, keep the children entertained and hope that someone will come get them before Christmas.
The characters are very likeable from the two main to the children. I thought this was cute and at time funny. Nick and Lyssa are forced to work together taking care of the children and facing their issues that her sister hopes they will work out. This is a very clean read that is enjoyable. The author goes throw in a little passion which is delightful. It was fun to see how they kept the children entertained I really enjoyed that. I did feel Nick’s foot healed much faster than I would have thought along with him running around out in the snow faster than I would have thought possible.
It would have been nice to have seen the Epilogue to have been about later on and not the same day or maybe it was the next day. To me it was more of a next chapter not an Epilogue. I thought the ending was rushed but likeable. I thought this was a cute fun read that I did enjoy.

I love Christmas books and movies, so when I saw a Christmas book that was also a second chance romance, I couldn't wait to read it. Lyssa finds herself talked into playing Elf at the annual Christmas party where she soon finds herself face to face with her ex, Nick. Lyssa isn't quite over Nick but keeps reminding herself as to all the reasons it wouldn't work out. Nick thought he wouldn't have to see Lyssa again after she blindsided him, and broke up with him. Soon he finds himself missing out on closing a business deal, and snowed in at the lodge with Lyssa and three children. Will Lyssa and Nick figure out how to meet in the middle and resume their relationship? Or will Nick keep proving to Lyssa, all the reasons why they shouldn't be together.
Lyssa and the three kids were probably my favorite characters in the books. I loved Lyssa's love of her hometown of Snow Valley, her family values, and the way she was with the three kids. In regards to Nick, I couldn't connect to him and spent my time trying to figure out why Lyssa was even wanting to be with him. It wasn't until the last few pages that he seemed to get over himself and figure out what Lyssa has been telling him all along. He did have some redeeming qualities that were seen in instances with the children, but other than that, he just wasn't relatable to me. Though I didn't relate to Nick's character, I did overall really enjoy the plot of the book.
I'm a sucker for anything Christmas and wanted to read this book to get more into the spirit. Nick and Alyssa dated in the past but split up when they realized they have different values. They are reunited a few months later at a Christmas function at a snow lodge. A storm hits and they get snowed in. With the way this was set up I was expecting a romantic Christmas story. What I got was way different. I didn't feel the connection with Nick and Alyssa. I also had a hard time connecting with the story. Yes, they had differences but nothing major to keep them apart and they could have resolved the issues a lot sooner with better communication. Once I got Nick's backstory I was like really?! Why didn't you just tell her from the beginning. Nick and Alyssa also get stranded with some kids she was supposed to drive home. This kind of threw me off and not sure why they were needed in the story. This story had a lot of potential but sadly it just didn't work for me at all.
There’s nothing quite as satisfying as a feel-good romance when you’re cuddled up with a warm blanket, a roaring fire, and a hot cup of tea.
Ms. Daille gives us this with Snowbound with Mr. Wrong.
When Lyssa Barnett meets up with old flame, Nick Tavlock, and they end up stranded in an isolated lodge with three adorable children, sparks ensue!
Lyssa was hurt by Nick’s obsession with the business world and gave up on their relationship rather than beating her head against Nick’s admittedly sexy abs.
Can she convince him to change his ways this time, or will she leave him in a snowbank?
A very entertaining read, I give Snowbound with Mr. Wrong 4 lovely kisses
This was a cute fun story that left me with a huge smile on my face. Unwittingly exes Lyssa Barnett and Nick Tavlock are set up to meet again at the Snowflake Valley's Christmas party. The very place they met a year ago. After dating for 8 months Lyssa broke things off. It was clear they had very different viewpoints on what made life great. He's a workaholic and thinks money is the answer to a happy life. She's a small town girl who thinks family and community are what really matters in life. Will a weekend trapped together at the lodge with several precocious kids help them find their way back to each other??
This was very well done and a book I definitely recommend.
ARC Review: Snowbound with Mr. Wrong (Snowflake Valley) by Barbara White Daille
Snowbound with Mr. Wrong has all the right ingredients to heat things up. Take two clueless exes, add kids and an unexpected snowstorm for good measure and than wait for the sparks to begin. Things are about to get naughty this holiday season. Ms. Daille brings on the laughs with Nick and Lyssa. Lyssa is adorably frustrating, She has no clue how falling in love works. Nick is equally dense, but a temptation all the same. If the romance doesn't take away the chill, the laugh out loud antics sure will.
A story with the one that got away theme. I couldn't really into either character. I found that I wasn't at all rootng for the couple to get together, in fact I would've probably liked the story better if they had decided to just be friends. The kids in the story were unnecessary. Unfortunately, I'm going to have to bahhumbug this one :(
Lyssa's sister asks her to help her out with a last-minute job. Lyssa has to dress up as an elf for a children's Christmas party. When she finds out who Santa is she's ready to bolt, but she doesn't want to let anyone down. She broke up with Nick and didn't expect to see him again, especially not while he's dressed in a Santa suit. Playing happy together for the sake of the children isn't easy. There are still so many unresolved feelings and Lyssa isn't sure how to handle them.
Nick is a successful businessman. The only area he isn't excelling in is his love life. Lyssa broke his heart and he doesn't understand why she left him. When a snowstorm messes up their plans he and Lyssa are forced to spend more time together. Will they be able to work things out between them? Can Lyssa make Nick understand what she wants from him and is there a chance he will be able give it to her?
Snowbound with Mr. Wrong is a heartwarming winter story. I immediately loved the main characters. Lyssa is sweet and it's easy to make her happy. She knows very well what makes her smile and she enjoys all the little things that matter in every day life without any effort. I liked that very much. I hoped she and Nick could work things out as they have a strong connection. Nick is a problem solver and he doesn't like it when things don't go according to plan. He's quick at changing tactics just to make them work. He's also a passionate and caring man. It's clear from the start there's a lot of love between the main characters and it was obvious to me that they belong together, which is something that made me smile.
Barbara White Daille has a great sense of humor. Snowbound with Mr. Wrong is both funny and romantic. It's a great combination for a perfect Christmas story. The beautiful setting, the large amount of snow, homemade decorations and gifts and abundance of love made this a fabulous festive story. I really enjoyed reading this joyful Christmas story, it's both cheerful and sweet.
What's worse then having a bad day, a bad wardrobe and being obligated to do things you don't feel up to? Getting to do it with your ex that you are still not over.
Nick and Lyssa have a passion, have chemistry but is that all?
This story follows the couple as they are snowbound in the lodge with 3 kids from family friends. It follows how they made assumptions and judgments without discussing the truth. How she decided to end the relationship without forcing a look at the scenes behind the picture.
He was caught up in one side he just let her go without understanding.
This book is cute at points and then darn right frustrating at others. Like that these two don't know how to communicate, how it took them a second chance before they learnt compromise, communication and insight into each other.
I also don't like how this book feels like a secquel without seeing another book in this series listed. Like Michael and Amber or mentioning the bad luck girls, or Callie's heartache.
This story simply feels incomplete. Certain passages were beautiful and some were super negative that I was seriously not liking the characters. I'm a big fan that sometimes all you need is to talk it out and share what's in your heart but this one just didn't satisfy me.
It also seemed like the book was trying to be clean but yet acted like a high school romance rather then an adult relationship would. And to suddenly decide marriage was on the table after a few days together again- how would that possibly be the answer if they are just starting again?
Received an ARC from NetGalley for an honest review.
This was a sweet holiday read. Lyssa and Nick don't see eye to eye about a lot of things, so when they end up snowed in with three kids at Christmas, things get tense. They're both still a little bitter about they way their relationship ended, but it's clear that it's because they still feel strongly for one another.
This is the first book in the series, but it feels like we were supposed to know stuff about Snowflake Valley already, which was really my only issue. All in all, a cute holiday read that gets you swept up in Christmas and make you want some hot cocoa.
I’ve know Barbara White-Daille for years but until last November had never read any of her books. That book was the second in the Snowflake Valley series and I liked it so much I picked up the first one – this book.
This book, like that one and other romances I’ve read, is a sorbet for my mind’s palate. It makes a refreshing change from the murder and mayhem of a string of mysteries. And I enjoyed it as much as I enjoyed the other book in the series.
Lyssa and Nick had failed to communicate. Neither telling each other what was in their hearts. So when Amber set her sister up with Nick again, mother nature took over. Forced to entertain kids with no technology, showed them how to work together. Until sister Callie explains why Lyssa is the way she is. Time to negotiate for their HEA.
This is a cute, sweet holiday story. Though I felt the conflict was a bit on the manufactured, a good conversation between both H/h without jumping to conclusions would have solved most of their problems. For the case of the quick story it worked.
The characters are well-written—even the kids. I’m not always a fan of children in stories, but they fit in this book and played their parts well. The story s actually plausible and the romantic element is strong.
Lyssa and Nick are right back where they started a year ago, the annual Christmas party at the Lodge. Only this time neither one wanted to be there, and they had no clue that the other would be in costume yet again, playing the same roles as before. On the surface Santa and Miss Elf went about their jolly duties, if a bit more abruptly than called for. Inside they each were angry, hurt and annoyed at having to face each other once again. To make matters worse there’s a blizzard headed for Snowflake Valley, and it’s about to arrive ahead of schedule.
This past summer Lyssa had broken up with Nick when she finally accepted that they were simply too different on their outlooks on life. He always seemed to put business before them, and his constant showering her with gifts and expensive dates was over the top in showing off his success. This unexpected meeting may have shown her how not yet over him she truly was… but come the end of the party that would be history as well. Only fate had different plans for Lyssa and Nick… and two young children and a teenager. Near the top of a mountain in a blizzard is no where to be caught unless you’re prepared to sit it out. And because of delays and an injury they were late getting off the mountain – and would end up right back where they started… yet again. Stuck together days before Christmas with no rescue in sight.
While I enjoyed parts of Snowbound With Mr. Wrong, I’m also torn about this one. Which is why the 3 stars that is a “good story” rating. I found little to no chemistry between this couple, not anger or lost love. The scenes at the beginning of the story between Lyssa and Nick have the same feeling as at the ending. I never got the sense of a great love that neither could live without. Yes, throughout the story we get to understand a bit why Lyssa felt they were so different and unable to agree on their times together. In truth, they each “read” each other wrong from the start. What was perceived as their take on values and lifestyles could have easily been explained with a conversation… and that magic word, compromise. Each assumed, and neither looked deeper for an explanation or understanding. So I had trouble buying that they once loved each other, and through the events in this story discovered that they still loved each other. Chemistry is a tricky thing in a relationship, and in a reader’s eyes when getting to know the main characters. I’m sure there are readers who disagree, and that’s fine, really. I simply couldn’t believe Lyssa and Nick as a couple.
The children actually stole more scenes than Lyssa and Nick did. Snowbound just before Christmas – not being able to get home to Mommy and Daddy – and how would Santa find them now… yeah being trapped in a blizzard is no fun for anyone, but especially for little ones.
This was a fun holiday story to get in the mood. And really, the only opinion that matters… is yours.
Snowbound with Mr. Wrong is such a sweet little book. a second chance romance that takes place over the holidays. Lyssa Barnett has been roped in by her sister to play Santa's little elf for the annual children's Christmas party. Except the Santa is her ex-boyfriend, Nick Tavlock; the man she still loves, but refuses to acknowledge her feelings for.
Nick is just doing a favor for his friend, dressing up as Santa for the children's party. He never expected to come face to face with the woman who dumped him, the one girl he loves. But getting stuck in the cottage with 3 kids and his ex, is not his idea of a good time.
The more time Lyssa and Nick spend together in close quarters, they more they are pushed to get a reality check and confront their feelings for each other. It was also really sweet seeing Lyssa and Nick handle Tommy, Mollie and Brent. Tommy was such a sweetheart and Mollie was a 10 year old trying to be older. Mollie's crush on Nick was so adorable. In fact she gets very mad when she sees Lyssa and Nick kissing, or almost kissing each other. Brent too was a good teenager. Mature for his his age and a total sweetie.
The one thing different in this book as compared to other romances is that we don't see the main leads being together, in a relationship till the very end. The only time we see them together is in flashbacks of the past or when they are talking about the past. It's only in the last chapter that they get together. There are a few sweet moments between them while they are snowbound in the cottage.
I really loved Lyssa. She was such a sweet, humble and loving woman. She loves her family and her town. I loved how much she loved her small town. Usually in book you see the small-town boy or girl trying desperately to leave their hometown and go to the big city. It's pretty opposite here. Lyssa is happy and content with her life in Snowflake Valley. Nick on the other hand was always busy with his work, even when they were together. Since the time we meet him, all we see is him trying hard to get back to his work. Though I understand his point, it seemed a little too much to me. Also, he was really adamant about changing Lyssa and getting her to expand her horizons, even if she did not want that. He never really talked to her about his feelings or his actions. All she saw was a guy taking her to fancy restaurants and giving elaborate and expensive gifts which she was uncomfortable with. There was a communication gap between the two of them.
Despite his flaws, Nick had his redeeming qualities which comes to the forefront at the end. Overall, this book was a really sweet read that'll make to feel good and make you smile.
Blurb Worst. Day. Ever. After Lyssa Barnett’s sister tricks her into reprising her role at Snowflake Valley's annual children's party, she doesn’t think anything can be worse than squeezing into her too-small elf costume. Then tall, dark, and way too handsome Nick Tavlock shows up to play Santa…and an unexpected storm leaves them snowbound in the isolated lodge.
As Nick starts to fall for Lyssa all over again, he knows it will take nothing short of a miracle to have Lyssa in his arms on Christmas Day.
Wow, what a great read this was. It took me a while to read this book not because it was boring it was because I had other books to read and juggle. This book as got me wanting to reading more of this authors books and also I am growing to like my kindle(but I do love paper/hardbacks too!!)
I love these sort of books where they get trapped into a place together and the characters realise what they are missing and have thoughts why they split and if there is any chance to rekindle their romance. What I love is the cover grabbed my attention as I do love Christmas and snow and bringing this into the story was beautiful. I want to go into Snowflake Valley again and I hope there is more to these characters as I want to see where their relationship lasts.
If you love heartwarming romance books and this is the book for you. Hope you enjoy it. I was lucky to sent this book for honest review.
Nick and Lyssa agreed to do a favor for their friend and sister respectively and play Santa and Miss Elf again. Unfortunately, neither were warned the other would be there and considering they met at last year's Christmas party while playing the same roles, and haven't seen each other since they broke up a few months ago, things could get awkward.
As the party is coming to a close, it's quickly apparent that the predicted snowstorm decided to arrive early and Nick's plane will not be taking off as he'd hoped. Add in the fact that he slipped on a toy left unattended, therefore injuring his ankle, and the attraction between him and Lyssa is still intensely there, and Nick knows he's in trouble. A trouble that continually grows as they realize they're stranded at the lodge...together.
Nick and Lyssa still have feelings, strong ones, for each other, but Lyssa believed that wasn't enough as it seemed Nick always put business before her while they were dating. And as Nick is determined to make it to San Diego for a business meeting, and to put some space between him and Lyssa, it looks like that hasn't changed. Neither are willing to act on those feelings as they're now guarding their hearts and trying to distance themselves from the other, physically and emotionally.
Will Nick and Lyssa get a Christmas miracle? Will they figure out a way to compromise, therefore giving their relationship another chance? Will Nick realize that love is more important than work? Will Lyssa get a more in depth look at Nick and why he is the way he is? Will knowing these things help them understand each other better? Will they get their HEA together, or is love just not enough this time?
One-click now to follow along as two people still in love with one another will need to decide whether to compromise in order to have a future together or to let each other go? I'm looking forward to future books featuring Lyssa's sister, Callie. I'm curious to see who'll be the man for her. I'm hoping next up will be Amber, Lyssa's sister, and Michael, her boss and Nick's friend. There's something brewing there, at least on Amber's side, but I have a feeling Michael is fighting his own feelings for her as well.
**I voluntarily reviewed an Advanced Reader Copy of this book.**
3.5 stars - Small town, second chance clean romance between two complete opposites mixed with a snowstorm stranded theme
Snowbound with Mr Wrong by Barbara White Dallie was my first read by this author and overall I liked the book. Snowbound with Mr Wrong is a small town, second chance clean romance between two complete opposites mixed with a stranded in a snowstorm theme. Like I say, I enjoyed the book but it didn’t completely wow me and wasn’t at all what I expected.
Nick and Lyssa, who tell the book through dual points of views, have a tense relationship but do have an attraction that hasn’t died despite their split not too long ago. When they are thrown together through some plotting of others, it can be seen how these two complete opposites, while have differing opinions, do truly have feelings for one another. Their rich vs poor background plays an integral part in their character’s beliefs and it’s only towards the end of the book do we fully understand how their pasts shape the way they are today. Their relationship is mostly a tense one as they figure out a way of being trapped together with three local kids of varying ages, who help develop the two characters further, while fighting their attraction. There are a couple of sweet scenes but not loads.
Snowbound with Mr Wrong is well written and easy to read and follow. The book is fast paced in terms of timeline but a little slow in development at times. Personally, I found it a bit quick with the ending and the HEA given all the issues raised; never felt fully resolved despite appearing they did resolve issues. Like I said earlier, overall, I enjoyed the book and it is well written and can be read as a standalone but just felt like it needed a bit more.
Overall, this is a good book and some people will possibly enjoy this second chance Christmas romance more than I did, just wasn’t my personal favourite Christmas or second chance romance book but I don’t regret reading it.

Nick and Lyssa have a past and are thrown together again at a Christmas party where he plays Santa and she plays the elf. But when a storm strands them with three children will they be able to be civil with each other or will being in close proximity spark the passion? I enjoyed this story. Lyssa and her small town, her values, her love of family and her comfort level with herself. But I didn’t like that she didn’t think that she was worthy of more in the world. At the first encounter between Nick and Lyssa, I found both of them to be very cold to each other. But as the story revealed pieces of the past it was understandable to some extent. Her compassion with the children far exceed Lyssa’s for Nick but it seemed to grow and she realized that her heart was taking her on a path that her brain didn’t agree with.
I found that I didn’t bond to Nick very well at first. He seems just like a man scorned. But when his back story was revealed I began to feel for him. His childhood affected him deeply as an adult and he didn’t even know that he was doing something that other’s may perceived differently. All of these things make Nick a complex character with depth and is well written. I enjoyed his ability to work with the children and even though he saw it as a task it was evident that he had hidden magic with children. I found that this book had good character development with a story line that revealed it’s self slowly. But the magic of a second chance at romance was evident throughout the book. I enjoyed the supporting characters and hope to find out more about the town of Snow Valley.
