Ooooh, Jacob's dominant side has come out to play in Kery's latest installment of the Make Me Serial Series! The struggles and the drama continues, leaving Harper more confused than ever. Jacob's secrets are coming out, and Harper finds herself becoming more and more emotionally attached to the force that is Jacob Latimer. Flashbacks are coming to a head, and I am more intrigued than ever! Jacob is dealing with more than we know and some shady characters are joining the party.

A man losing control...a woman freely giving up hers...the Make Me series is becoming more and more juicy, steamy, and intoxicating with every page turned. The chemistry and connection build, while the drama and mystery unfold. I can't get enough!

More of the past has come out and it seems like Harper might subconsciously be remembering. I like too that this time around we seemed to learn a bit more of what happened to Jacob after Harper and that he seems willing to share more. Doesn't mean that I'm not waiting for the other shoe to drop when Harper learns the full truth.

••••••••••

REVIEW: 4.25 stars--- MAKE ME (releasing as an eight part serial) by Beth Kery is a stand alone, erotic, romance story line focusing on billionaire Jacob Latimer, and investigative journalist/editor Harper McFaddan.

Told from dual third person points of view using memories, flashbacks, dreams and present day MAKE ME follows the building relationship between Jacob Latimer and Harper McFaddan-a second chance of sorts-for two people whose lives, almost two decades earlier, intertwined their heart and souls.

Harper McFaddan recently moved to Tahoe Shores from San Francisco to start a new chapter in her life (following the death of her parents) but meeting reclusive billionaire Jacob Latimer finds our heroine caught between wanting to move forward and being pulled into the past. Jacob Latimer is a software entrepreneur whose secrets run deep; and little to nothing is known about his past. What ensues is a slow building romance between Jacob and Harper, as Jacob struggles with revealing the truth to the woman who calls to his soul.

MAKE ME is a sexually aggressive and graphic storyline with scenarios of bondage, rope play, and anal $ex that may be issues for some sensitive readers. Jacob is a man who likes control both in and out of the boardroom, and finds himself needing to claim Harper as his own. His fears of ‘losing’ Harper cause many anxious moments for a man whose reputation is cold and aloof. But little do most people know that Jacob is a man who has a need to protect those who cannot protect themselves.

The majority of the story line focuses on the relationship between Harper and Jacob interspersed with a series of flashbacks and dreams that will trigger memories from the past. We are introduced to Jacob’s inner circle-the people who know him best-yet the same people who know nothing about the boy he once was.

MAKE ME is an imaginative and spirited story line about betrayal and loss; grief and heartbreak; falling in love and letting go of the past. The premise is dramatic; the characters are captivating and intense; the romance is a slow build of passion, desire, wants and needs. MAKE ME is an erotic tale about fated lovers whose lives were destroyed by a single moment in time, but brought together for a second chance at forever and love.

Make Me is the newest serial novel from Beth Kery. There are 8 parts to this story with the first part releasing April 5, 2016 and part 8 scheduled to release May 24, 2016. I am not a fan of serial novels, but for me Beth Kery is the exception. Her stories are always so good that I know it will be worth the wait to get the whole story. Luckily I was able to read the whole story at one time, and let me tell you that it is definitely worth the read! Beth Kery never disappoints, and the Make Me serial is another fantastic read from her.

After a tragedy took her parents away from her, Harper McFadden moved from San Francisco to a small town on the shores of Lake Tahoe. Looking for peace, Harper never expected to meet the mysterious Jacob Latimer. Jacob is known for being a successful entrepreneur building his software company up from nothing, but rumors of shady business dealings have left many trying to dig deeper into his past. Jacob knows that the last person he should let near him is Harper, a journalist known for her investigative skills. Yet the connection between Harper and Jacob is more than either of them can fight and they find themselves unable to stay away from each other. But with secrets between them, can Jacob make Harper his or will the truth destroy any chance of a future together?

I really liked both Harper and Jacob. I felt the chemistry and connection between them right away, and with each new piece of information revealed I couldn't get enough of them! There was so much more to each of these characters than you see at first glance, and I really liked getting to know each of them better. Jacob was determined to make Harper his, yet he also knew that she was the one person that could expose everything he has hidden. Harper was looking for peace and healing after losing her parents, yet she was drawn to Jacob right away and couldn't fight the pull she felt to him. These two were great together, and I loved seeing how things played out for them.

Overall, I really enjoyed this one from start to finish. I am so glad that I didn't have to wait for the entire story, but let me tell you it is definitely worth it even if you do have to wait. The 8 installments are short and easy to read, and they leave you anxious for more. Jacob and Harper's story was impossible to put down, and I was intrigued right from the start. I don't want to go into details so I don't spoil the story, but I was surprised with all the twists and turns and I had to know what would happen next. Beth Kery is a fantastic writer, and this serial was filled with steam and emotion, as well as mystery and intrigue. I highly recommend this and any of Beth Kery's stories, and I already can't wait for more from her.

This was a fantastic series. I haven't read anything from Beth Kery in a long while so this was a nice treat to get. I received the serial as a complete series, so keep that in mind. They are coming out weekly currently. But again, this review is for the WHOLE serial.

This is an 8 part series with the first having released last week and the last set to release in May.

I love a good serial. I feel that the episodes have to be JUST long enough to really pull you in, but not long enough that you feel like your reading a while book. They should feel like an episode on TV and that is exactly what Beth did with this series. It was perfectly paced.

This serial follows Harper McFadden. She has recently moved from SanFran to Lake Tahoe and is rebuilding her life there. The last thing she thought would run into her life was Jacob Latimer. I swear, after the first meeting you will be happy he ran into it too. This guy was YUM. Okay, but really, he was a complete gentleman and had a GREAT dog. That just about seals it. I love a good guy who is not only nice to look at, but more importantly kind with a good heart. You see that right from the start with him.

Jacob though earnest and sweet, could have a shady past. There have been rumors, and honestly that LAST thing he needs is a reporter getting close to him. What a shame because fate just won't allow Harper not to be a part of his life.

I felt like this wasn't quite a cat and mouse story, but kind of was at the same time. It was a suspense filled romance about accepting each other for who they are, and knowing that you can share your secrets with the right people. I was rooting for this couple from that first meeting. It was Kismet and I wasn't having it any other way.

Plus, some of those scenes will ave you fanning yourself. JUST SAYIN!

My Thoughts

I feel like the overview doesn't do this next installment justice, but then again, i'm not sure that i ever really rely on them to make me read a book. In this 5th installment, we get to see how things are progressing for Harper and Jacob, especially since it seems like glimpses of their pasts are coming out a bit more. Jacob has to go to San Francisco on business, and invites Harper along. It's there that they get the unfortunate surprise of Regina, a woman from Jacob's past who's not the most stable, and the issues that we see come up are in how Jacob shares information on who she is and how Harper receives it. Always a chance for some really tough situations - for sure.

The other bit here is that we see that they are each digging for a bit more of something with each other - trying to get to the crux of what makes them them. We know that Jacob knows exactly who Harper is from his past, yet she doesn't make the connection yet. We know that she's digging for information and i wonder if on some level she really does know who he is, but we're just not there yet Since we're coming to the end of the series, i think that it'll be interesting to see how her eyes are opened up, and i wonder how explosive it'll be.

In the meantime, at least we see that they are taking their relationship to the next level here - knowing that they won't admit that it'll be something more finite and substantial (yet) but also knowing that there's something that they can give each other in terms of both physical solace as well as mental. So, on that note, tomorrow the next one is out and i can't wait to see what happens.

Final Score - 4.5 Oh Boy Stars!

Harper just recently lost her parents in an accident. She's running from the pain of that experience by quitting her job & moving West to a quaint and quite Lake Tahoe, who's most famous resident is...

Jacob is entrepreneur. He's built himself an empire, but values his privacy & hides the secrets of his past... secrets that are connect to someone else, who doesn't remember...

Harper & Jake meet during a jog/swim by the lake one day and strike up a conversation. A seemingly innocent encounter ... or is it? Could they have possible met before?

I'm once again left with EVEN more questions that need to be answered!

Harper is starting to crack through Jake's defense and get to man behind the wall. However close she gets though, Jake still tries to keep her at bay - but she's making progress. Jake is slowly letting Harper see him, not only as Jacob the man... but as Jake the boy who saved her all those years ago. How much longer though before she recognizes him & the inevitable confrontation happens? Will be happy to know that they are one and the same? Or will this tear them apart forever?

I can't wait for the next installment in this series!

In Make Me Risk it Jacob has last minute work to be done in San Francisco so he asks Harper to join him. They are now spending more time together and Jacob is starting to open up to Harper about his past. But one night out at the Opera brings some of his old friends into the picture, and what Harper over hears makes her confused to everything.

What I enjoyed most about Make Me Risk It is watching Jacob let down his guard with Harper and opening up more to her then she ever thought he would have done. Watching how patient Harper is with Jacob and everything that is going on that she doesnt understand. Jacob is starting to use some of his lines from when they were kids, and she still feels that deja-vu but cant figure it out.

Another fantastic Make Me book. Tons of sexy kinky times and a trip.. Of course if you have enjoyed the other Make Me books then this one is a must.. I am enjoying this story!

The books in this serial must be read in order.

Harper and Jacob are at another one of his homes. He had to fly there for business and asked her to join him. Not only do things get hot between them, but Jacob has more than just work problems to deal with.

I loved the addition of drama to this book. It made the story more exciting since I wasn't sure what was going to happen next. I suspect this is only the beginning of the drama, however.

We have been introduced to Clint and Regina in the previous installments but this time we get to meet them. There's still a mystery as to why Jacob doesn't associate with Clint and longer and why he's helping Regina so much but we get a little glimpse. We also go backup when Jacob and Harper were younger and hear about the cliff jumping which sounds exciting. The end of this installment is starting to get hot again. We learn Jacob loves ropes and can't wait to read the hot sex scene in the next installment. Reviewed on behalf of Once Upon an Alpha.

I felt like we knew more about Jacob prior to this novella. This one made me feel like he was very secretive and illusive. Telling her a taste of things, but not enough. But yet still seducing her so gosh darn well.
And the snippets into the past, I loved them. I mean what they were living through, running from, was horrid. But seeing that connection they formed during such a horrible ordeal added such a deeper connection to the characters and a different facet to the book.
His secrets are driving me insane!

So now Jacob's and Harper's past is starting to come on surface, as Harper is subconsciously starting to remember it. For me its like the climax of their story is getting closer for the readers regarding their history. I loved Jacob and Harper, but than at times I wanted to jump in their story and scream at them to tell them to get their SH*T TOGETHER! I loved how Beth Kery created these characters and their circumstances were beautiful and worth my time.

Thanks to my friends at Berkley Romance, I was able to read all 8 parts of this serial novel at once. And thank goodness for that, too. Because I suck at patience.

I enjoyed this series, and although there were times when the story in the present seemed to drag a bit, the periodic flashbacks really helped with that. The beginning and the ending were pretty great, too.

More to come soon.

Hot. Hot. Hot.

Beth Kery knows how to tell a story. Jacob is the perfect enigma. I wonder at times why Harper is so drawn to him. But then the flashbacks quickly begin to answer my questions.
