Though the Goodreads entry is in German, I found this at a used book sale and read it in English. This non-fiction account of how Dr. Sharkey's feeling develop towards the mortality of her youngest patients is moving. I would especially recommend this for young medical students.

It was a very emotional story and it made me cry a lot when I was small.
