We’ve all lived through that early twenties funk. You know the one. Just after college when you’re supposed to begin a life and a career and find your place in life. We come to a harsh realisation that we’re adults now and maybe all of our dreams won’t come true and that the life we had planned out doesn’t always follow a straight line. It’s during this time in their lives that Ashley and Andrew first meet. A few months later, they’re married. Their instant connection and whirlwind romance was probably doomed from the start and love isn’t always enough. A year later, they’re divorced.

Seven years after the divorce, Ashley finally has a career she can be proud of and she has herself together. Andrew has made it big and has accomplished all of his dreams. One could say that they’re finally grown up. When they meet again under these new circumstance are they still the couple who was meant to be? After everything they’ve done to each other, is the other still the one? This book explores just how much damage one person can cause another and the struggles of depression and anxiety.

The characters in this book are by no means perfect and I loved that about this book. They are fallible human beings who make stupid decisions and sometimes blame everyone else but themselves. Ashley blamed Andrew (sometimes unfairly) for all of her problems while he was selfish in his ambitions to get a small business of the ground. But Andrew was also severely affected by the end of their relationship and the realisation that he almost broke another person.

With all these issues floating around, can their really be a second chance for this couple? Can they overcome the hurt they inflicted on each other? Is attraction enough to let them forgive?

All in all I thought this was a unique and well-written story with a heartfelt romance underneath all the issues. The secondary characters were great and I really enjoyed this read.

This definitely wasn't my cup of tea. I really didn't like it. The story was too fast-paced for me. It didn't actually pull me in.

Personal note from Shredder: Cannot believe I am about to do this, because those who know me know that I never make a formal plea for any book. That being said I have read this material, and I love the foundation and chemistry that has been built around these two characters. There is no drama for the sake of it, or unnecessary filler to get you through to the next page. Everything has a purpose in this book, which is very hard to find nowadays among the indie community. For those who admire Kristen Ashley or Tammara Webber's writing style, this is definitely something for you to look into. Just sayin'....

Let's do this!

You know those books you pick up at Books-A-Million or Barnes and Noble with the pretty covers? The ones you're too scared to buy because you think the cover is as good as it's going to get? The blurb on the back might capture your interest, and you might even skim a few pages to get a taste of it...But in the end you never commit to buying that book until everyone else has read it. This is one of those books. The cover isn't enough to seal the deal. You actually have to do some investigating to find the hidden gem, folks.

I'll just leave this right about here-

Top Jaw-Dropping moments of "YOU'RE STILL THE ONE" BY SASHA CLINTON

1) “Planning to kill me slowly, are you?” He smiled.
“You prefer a quick death?”
“Hell, yes.”
She hastened her motions, increasing pressure until his expression shifted to one of bliss.

2) “You broke them?” He exhaled exasperatedly. “Oh, for goodness’ sake, give me a break! My clients are trying to kill me at work and you’re trying to kill me at home.”

3) “How long will you be there for?”
“As long as it takes for me to forget about you.”

4) “You wrote a chapter on our marriage?” Had it meant that much to him?
“Two, actually. One on you and one on our marriage.”

5)“Hello, sir, what’s your emergency?” the phone operator asked.
“My wife. I think she’s dead.”

6) “We grew up too fast, Ashley. All our youth, we tried to be adults. Now that we’ve become
adults, let’s be reckless adolescents for once!"

The writing: It's okay. There are obvious words that could be clipped, but in the end I think it worked out very well because it added to the personality of the characters. Which is important. It was very "clean" in terms of comma's and grammar errors. Every once-in-a-while a weird word might show up, but a sentence later Andrew is there front and center, throwing in his humor...So it evened out.

CONCLUSION: Get your hands on this damn book if you can. (Netgalley). Request it. Do something. If you like "The Notebook" you will definitely like this. While reading I thought of Ryan Gosling and Rachel McAdams as Andrew and Ashley. Some of the fighting, which is pretty heavy at times, reminded me of them. Andrew has a sense of humor and is always trying to look at the positive in all things. He adds comedy to an otherwise shitty situation. Loved it.

ARC provided by the author in exchange for my honest review. Thank you.

You're Still the One brings us into the world of Andrew & Ashley's happenstance meeting and faster-than-a-speeding bullet romance.

I think I blinked once and ZOOM!! things were ablazing between these rather unique (eccentric?) characters.

While I will not divulge into too much detail till closer to release date...

I had high hopes for this story. There was SO MUCH that threw me off, confused me and kind of had me hoping these two would just let the past be.

I'm a stickler for detail also, so there were some things in the story that also had me wincing a few times:

1. Women wear perfume, men wear cologne - but it was the other way around in the story.
2. As the story was set in Manhattan and Brooklyn - as a native, so much was off and had me a tad bit disappointed in the research.
3. The word "thrice" - not sure anyone uses that word anymore ( I mean, if you do, more power to you). It just threw me off somewhat.
4. The sexual interactions between our h and H - cringeworthy. A whole lot of talking...and certain words used to describe certain anatomy parts while in the middle of the "sex" was just...not...working?
5. The H and h - there was nothing about them that appealed to me. They were both childish in certain aspects of their lives (past and present). As I said, I would love to give you a broader picture, but I can't without giving away most of the book.

With that being said, the concept of the story was what lured me in. I just wished that the rest of the story kept me.

When I read the blurb of this, I loved the sound of it. It's set in NYC - one of my favorite cities in the world. It sounds like there won't be any instas going on... I knew that this could go one of two ways- I love it or loath it.

Well, I was wrong. On many accounts. First I neither love it nor loath it. I am not wowed for sure, but I also didn't hate it. It was just.. kinda awkward actually.
Look it's not terrible or infuriating, but it just never gelled with me.

First of all, the romance? INSTA all over. I could have lived with that. But I didn't buy it. They had no chemistry. Even if Clinton kept stressing that they did- well I didn't feel it.
Then the smut- was beyond awkward. It was odd and felt super wooden. Not enticing or sexy or hot. It felt rehearsed and planned. As in Clinton added some odd bits to make the couple more real or unique... BUT it felt like it was planned and more importantly it just felt off and weird.
They supposedly so in love. But I really didn't get any of that. I mean they professed to strong feelings, I just never I felt nor did I actually believe it.
Their infatuation felt superficial. Their big fight and the break up? It felt staged. And the supposed hurt of Ashley? What hurt? I felt it more in the blurb than reading the entire novel.

The character building felt labored. I mean, Clinton gave both MCs quirks and bad sides... but that's how it felt. Like their weaknesses were planned. Like Andrew's problem at the end? I felt like smacking him. Seriously, get real! It felt totally put on- so that we can have a last big drama...you know the perfunctory one before the end.
My biggest issue with the character building was, that Ashley and Andrew behaved rather juvenile most of the time. Their actions and reactions seemed to be rather arbitrary at times. Just like teens. But see we talking adults, first they in their early twenties then in their early thirties.. and frankly I just kept thinking grow the heck up people!

The plot was okay. I guess. A tad cliche. But actually not bad. This could have been a good cute & fluffy.

But I think my absolutely biggest issue with You're Still The One was the writing style. While Clinton does very flowery descriptions- they quite nice actually- the dialogues were totally wooden. Somehow they felt staged rather than a conversation. Then going back to the whole flowery descriptions- they didn't work in the context most of the time. I am not sure why. As I said, Clinton writes quite nicely. But somehow it just didn't work for me. I missed depth and soul- and saying that I have to stress, that I feel like Clinton did try and portray that. BUT I could simply not connect to it. It surprises me, because I usually love beautiful descriptions- but here it felt put on. The New York Clinton described, was not my experience of New York- Just some details felt off. In fact I was wondering if she actually has been there.
It seems my recurring problem with this novel. I simply didn't feel it, I just couldn't connect. At all.

So while I wish it would have worked better for me. I think the concept was interesting, sadly not for me though.

This story will have you an emotional mess. Ashley and Andrew meet when they are fresh out of college. Ashley is still seeking employment and Andrew started a company while he was sill in college. Ashley is feeling pressured to do well. It seems everyone around her has their stuff together. Her two best friends know what is next in their lives. Even though his company is struggling, Andrew has something. When they meet it is instant attraction. Their romance progresses fast and 6 months later they are married. Things quickly spiral down. At first glance, I was thinking Ashley was selfish and insecure. Andrew was working hard to make his company a success. He thought he was doing a good job of balancing his work and loving his wife. Ashley is unhappy, and depressed. She is working two jobs to keep the household running. Her husband is never around and he is ruining her life. He made promises that he is not keeping. When you learn what is really happening and what occurred your heart will break. Their is a 7 yr separation and the two meet up again. Can Ashley and Andrew get a second chance. Everything about the story felt rushed. the relationship was rushed but that worked for me. they did not really know each other so when things started to fall apart, they didn't see certain signs. The reunion and ending was rushed. After seven years they see other again and want to get back together within a short period. I am glad that they took some time to date but it felt very rushed. They both had emotional and mental scars that were not really addressed. Ashley had therapy but "she is better: now. She was still reckless when it came to Andrew. Andrew had issues that he kept from Ashley until the end of the book. We were left hanging with some things concerning them. We have to assume that things worked out.

Ashley Brown, fresh out of college, is looking for a job, not love. But those plans change when she meets gorgeous Andrew Smith. Their connection is instant and the relationship grows quickly. After a year of marriage though, things aren’t as she had planned. With her still not finding a career and Andrew spending all his time trying to get his business up and running, Ashley sinks into depression and asks for a divorce.
Fast forward 7 years, Ashley has built a life for herself as an editor. Andrew, now a successful CEO, has written his autobiography. Ashley is assigned as his editor. It doesn’t take long to realize their attraction hasn’t ended. But Andrew has his own issues from the past. Can they really have a second chance at love? Is he still the one?
Sasha Clinton’s book left me feeling mixed. What did I like about it? The chemistry between the two characters was intense. I like stories where the characters find a second chance for love. It dealt with two very real human issues- depression and anxiety. What kept me from loving it? The writing style was too “flowery” for me. It worked in some instances but often distracted from the story. The characters’ immaturity. I expected juvenile behavior when they were 23 but felt like they never really grew up in dealing with their own issues. And Ashley seemed to put all the blame on Andrew.
In any case, if you like stories of second chances, and romance with a little angst, then you’ll enjoy this read. I was given an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review. I appreciate the opportunity to read it.

One of those books that has good characters and a decent storyline, plus a good mental health rep as well, but all of that falls flat because the writing isn't right. The words doesn't hit where they aim to.

A lof of the last ten chapters is a mess. Both characters can't decide for their life, and when they do communicate, it's too....easy for the kind of complex situations they are in. He has a PTSD and a guilt complex and all it gets is a two sentences worth mentioning and sorted? She hated him over seven years and a phone call is enough to sort all her doubts?

Like I said, the depth in the plot is right there but it could have been way better written for it to hit hard and make the readers feel. The potential for angst is right there but just scratching the surface. It just feels like a very amateur read, and I don't know if I want to read Kat and Bella's story.

description

This is one of those times when I'm going to end up looking like the ass-end of an elephant for what I think about a book. Well, bring that big ass on because I've got some thoughts! Oh, and unlike the majority of my other reviews, there will probably be a spoiler in here ... I'll try to keep it minimal but stop reading if you want some surprises within those pages.

Ugh. I just hate having to write a review like this. Let's just get down to it ... I absolutely HATED the way Ashley and Andrew were together. Despised it. I didn't really get the back and forth or the damn hot and cold feelings that would switch without notice. Ashley was just wishy-washy. She didn't want him, then she wanted him, then she didn't and then she decided she would force him to love her. Really? Come on. That whole thing seemed more like a plot from a heartbroken teenager than a woman in her 30's.

There was this one part where Andrew actually apologized. He said he was sorry and she says that she's been waiting to hear that from him and then in the same damn breath, she chastises him for apologizing. What?!? That doesn't make any damn sense. You can't pet the dog for bringing you the newspaper and then literally take the paper out of his mouth and swat his ass because he didn't leave the paper outside. It was confusing and I'm not totally for sure what the author was trying to say at this point ... that Ashley didn't know what she wanted? Hell, I figured that out the first time she flip-flopped about crap with Andrew. It felt almost as if the book started with one character and then halfway through, someone decided to change some important traits about Ashley but instead of changing them, they just added them in or something. It was like two separate characters were being mashed together. Totally inconsistent.

This book is full of some pretty serious parts. A lot of these moments were glossed over while other inconsequential things were basically given a freaking parade and the center stage. I wish that more time had been spent on the bad stuff. If that had happened, I might have understood Ashley's character more but then again, maybe I wouldn't have but those serious moments definitely deserved a little more page time than they received.

This ended up not being a book for me, in case you didn't notice. I'll not be reading another book by Sasha Clinton any time in the near future. When I don't like the characters in a book, I think that is a giant red, glittery flag shining in the sun just telling me DANGER. Others liked it, so what the heck do I know.

You're Still The One,  Sasha Clinton

Review from Jeannie Zelos book reviews

Genre:   Romance, New Adult.

This sounded great, and the first ten per cent was perfect for me, just wonderful....I was so looking forward to the rest of the story.

I felt the tension and sensuality between them, Andrew who until now had devoted all his spare time to his fledgling business, was blown away by how he felt over Ashley, and Ashley wasn’t looking for love and yet it whacked them both like a sledgehammer.
And then it all fell apart for me. Ashley became so whiny, so “poor me”, she knew things would be tough, Andrew had offered her a job with him when they first met, but warned it would be 16 hours a day, 7 days a week, so why did she think he’d do less? She’s been struggling to find work and ended up at Walgreen, doing double shifts to support them. I didn’t understand why she wouldn’t work with Andrew, at least they’d see more of each other....and the inevitable happens and that beautiful love turns into bickering and them barely seeing each other.

Seven years later she’s got a successful career as a book editor and gets handed Andrew's book to promote. He’s still as attractive as ever, his business has done well, but he’s still a workaholic and yet – they can’t seem to keep way from each other. I guess that's where it went wrong for me, the rest of the story just feels its all to and fro, will they won’t they, push and pull, and I wanted to shake the pair of them. Ashley still blames him for everything,  but he did tell her right from the first meeting that his business was his primary focus and it would be a few years before he could let up a bit. Yet she resents the time it took him away from her even knowing life was going to be like this. She hated her job when they were together, so why not change it, look for something else, why not work with him? Inside she’s bitter and resentful and yet she doesn’t do anything, except that final blowout, when Andrew got a real shock. Then there’s mention of when she was in hospital a couple of times, and I was back tracking thinking “when did that happen? How did I miss it?” but that doesn’t actually get a proper detail until later...

Even now she’s still resentful of the time he spent at work, and surely by now she should realise why he did it? See that he didn’t hold all the blame? The hospital thing – yes, I could see why she was upset over that, it did seem horribly callous. I’d have felt exactly as she did, and I could see why their love that was so intense derailing so quickly could make her scared of loving again. That must have been awful, scary and of course setting yourself up for that possible pain once more is hard.

Andrew could have asked more questions, looked at whether she was really happy instead of bing so immersed in his new business, but if he thought all was well he wouldn’t would he? Later though when his other issues come up I did feel he was a bit of a coward in not dealing with them, that he’d rather let Ashley go, despite still being intensely in love with her, rather than seek help. His dad was a horrible man, and I really wasn’t convinced by the later behaviour and the reasons we’re given.

Its clear that Sasha can write the kind of deep emotion that I love, that beginning had me hooked like a fish on a reel, but I needed more of that drama and intensity, maybe another plot layering over the will they/won’t they theme of the last half. Still, maybe that's not the kind of work she wants to write – its her book after all :-) I'm just a reader.

Stars: Three and a half, that first part was perfect, but though the rest was good for me it could have been much better.

You're Still The One is a second chance romance standalone novel that tells the story of Ashley and Andrew. First off, I'll start by being completely honest and admitting that I didn't expect to like this book as much as I did. I'd read a lot of mixed reviews before going in, so I didn't know what to expect when I first started reading it, and I was truly surprised by everything that happened in this book.

It was basically love at first sight for our two main characters; Andrew proposed two weeks after meeting Ashley, and four months later, they were married. They were each other's soul mates, but the problem was, they met at the wrong time in their lives. Andrew is focused on getting his business off the ground, and he makes it perfectly clear to Ashley at the beginning of their relationship that that'll be his main focus. She's all on board and is ready to support him through it all, but a year into their marriage, with Andrew never home and Ashley working a job she loathes, she becomes depressed - the life she's living isn't the life she imagined for herself.

As in love with each other as they were, and as much as they didn't want to have to separate, it's what was best for Ashley's wellbeing. It's years later that they're reunited; Ashley is better and works a job she loves, and Andrew's business has since taken off. Having written an autobiography, it's pure coincidence that Ashley will be the person editing his book.

The beginning - and also the reason why I rated this book four stars - went a little slow for me, and at first, it took me a while to connect with both the story and the characters. The first few chapters is when we see how Andrew and Ashley meet, fall in love, get married, and then we see their downward spiral which then led to their divorce. It's AFTER that, that's when I got hooked to this book, because there was more to their divorce and the lead up to it than we first thought, and when I saw the mentions of hospital, I needed to know more.

You're Still The One focuses a lot on depression, attempted suicide, and PTSD, and I'll be honest, I don't think I've ever read a book that focuses on those three subjects before. Ashley and Andrew's story is a deep one, one that I related to, and one that I fell completely in love with the more I read on. I could not (and did not) put this book down, not until I'd reached the very last page. I love a good second chance romance, and it was clear throughout this book that both Ashley and Andrew still loved each other deeply. This author left nothing untouched when it came to showing us why the main characters split in the first place, and how they both fought and talked it out to get back together again.

The love Ashley and Andrew felt for each other was true love, and even though I am rating this book four stars (because the beginning really was going slow for me, and I really couldn't connect with the story at first), I really did enjoy it. It's my first Sasha Clinton novel, but I know now that it won't be my last, and I'm super excited to get started on reading the other books in this series.

Ashley met Andrew one night at a bar and sparked her to do something she never thought she would, ask him up for the night. However, Andrew knew there was something about Ashley that he wanted to get to know and he didn't want to chance ruining it, so instead he asked her out. The only hitch with Andrew is that he was launching his own company. He worked all the time and had no money so he knew he didn't have much to offer, but if she was game so was he.

Ashley and Andrew quickly hit it off and soon found themselves in love and getting married. However that happiness didn't last long. Life got in the way and they divorced.

Seven years later Ashley finally has a job she loves and finds the new author whose book she is the editor is no other then her ex husband. It doesn't take Ashley long to realize she still has feelings for him and that their split wasn't all his fault like she thought.

Andrew always loved Ashley, however he learned that love almost killed her and he has vowed to never hurt her again, even if she is the only woman he has ever loved. However fate has matched them back up and the question remains if the can make it work the second time around.

I really liked Andrew and I learned to like Ashley, I have to admit during the first year of their marriage she made me really mad because she seemed to blame everything on him, even when the issues were about her career. Now I have to say that I do not know a lot about depression but as the story develops it really helps one understand someone who is going through it and by the time I finished the book I was glad to see that I liked and understood Ashley. This is a touching love story about healing and second chances.

Andrew is a handsome and intelligent man who is dense enough to stay ‘married’ to his new business. He wants to succeed at all cost, while his fairy tale marriage and his starry-eyed wife, Ashley take second place. Phone calls to his wife a few times a day were his way of showing how much he ‘cared’. My heart ached for this young couple. Ashley confronted her husband about his persistent absence from home. Her complaint of being lonely and cry for attention went unanswered.

Andrew’s father, Carl is a vile man. I wanted to kill him off so many times, I lost count. But he is the reason, Andrew is so driven.

The author has a great way of delivering a bucket load of laughter through the characters dialogue and thoughts. I laughed a lot. Andrew’s promises of a better future became like saw dust in Ashley’s ears and they eventually went their separate ways. I felt Ashley’s pain. The author drew me in with her graphic writing of Ashley’s misery. It hurt. And, Andrew’s panic attack and memory recall was strong and intense.

Seven years later, their coming back together was so rocky, I wanted to scream out in frustration. To me, the timing of Andrew’s first flashback affected the smooth flow of the story.
Overall: It was an emotional story of love, acute pain, separation and second chance.

This is not my normal type of romance read. You meet Ashley and Andrew. Andrew is starting a business while Ashley is fresh out of college and on the search for a job. They meet, they fall in love, they marry quickly, and then divorce. They are thrown back together and find that maybe what they once had was something.

Honestly, I liked You're Still the One, but it wasn't my favorite romance. It had a lot of business lingo that at times bored me. I guess that's one of the reasons I rated it as I did. It was slow, but when it picked up it was a good read.

You're Still the One was also sad, but that made the book more real and realness of this couple is what kept me reading. This book shows that not all romance is easy. Sometimes its hard and the two people have to count on each other and be there for the other person. Love and marriage is not 50/50. It has to be 100/100. I'm glad it ended the way it did...Stormi

I loved these characters and they were so well written. The story flowed well and the ups and downs kept me interested. The secondary characters were also fun and kept things interesting. From the beginning it was hot and sexy but there are deeper issues here and the author deals with them very well. Depression is not what most think it is. And recovery is not sure or certain. PTSD is another issue needing more light shone. The story touches on this but I would like to see more from this author as Ashley and Andrew work through all their problems, together. It would also be fun to see them as young parents. So, while this is a fine start, I hope that Clinton might consider giving us a more complete ending in another book. As for this one? Well it is well written and the characters are lovable. They have quick wits and love each other deeply and openly. Now that they are talking and sharing, well things are going to be fine, right?? Ashley and Andrew hit it off when they randomly meet one night at Yellow Hill. They have a sizzling chemistry and the connection that you can feel in your roots. But a workalic husband and a depressed wife struggling to make both ends meet, barely spending any time time together are divorced a year into their marriage. When they meet seven years later, her being the editor of his new book, they know the feelings haven't left and the fire between them is burning bright.

For me the book was not it. The timeline of the relationship was unrealistic and the book moved at a hurried pace. Foreshadowing was also a little too strong, with the groom's father throwing out a divorce lawyer's card at him on their wedding day, in chapter 2. The fmc seemed whiny and bitter and they kept going around in circles.

**I received an ARC of this book from the author in exchange for an honest review.**

I think I might go as far as to say that this is one of my favorite books of 2016. Though romance isn't normally one of my favorite genres to read, I can't wait for the rest of the books in the NYC Singles series. The author's attention to detail made it easy for me to picture the characters and scenes of the book, and it also is what helped to hold my attention throughout. Probably one of my favorite parts of the book would be the depression and anxiety some of the characters had; having flaws made them seem more relatable, and I love them for it. If you're a sucker for romance, this is the book for you.

You're still the one is a very emotional ride, sometime's i wanted to sucker punch andrew because coming from a female's perspective, he was being a fucking idiot and not realizing what he was doing and how it affected ashley. I wanted to punch him many times!

But not only was Andrew being a fucking twat, so was ashley at times.

Andrew is like a god, beautiful and lustrous but with a brain. Or so we think, altho in the woman department i don't think he's so smart.

i fell in love with ashley the minute she was introduced. She has gone through some terrible things, but kept a smile on her face.

I was extremely excited to read the book after seeing a sypnosis on TikTok. I got to chapter 5 and stopped, the book was short of words, it had a nice concept but, it was too fast-paced. I didn't really get to experience what the character was going through just a brief mention of her depression and that was it. It was sorely lacking in description. It wasn't my cup of tea, I'm giving it a 1 star purely because it had an excellent concept.

I finished it, so there’s that. If I hadn’t double checked, I could have sworn this book was written by a man with a female pen name. This book made me so angry, but a lot of that may be from personal bias and preference. I will say there is absolutely no real character development between Ashley and Andrew, and I have no idea why they got married so fast to begin with, let alone care if they got back together. Take that as you may, dear fellow reader.

Really Sasha? Having me defend a man?
I guess that has to do with your writing more than it has to do with me and my morals.
Well, having said that nothing against you I think you’re an adequate woman however this book is aggravated me on so many levels mainly the female she was so annoying and I feel like Andrew deserved way better writing like he was written by 12 year-old so thanks for wasting my time

Starting of the book was truly good but the ending kinda sucked. Like it was a fanfic written on Wattpad by a 14 year old.

DNF 40%, You’re telling me this girl was so depressed in this relationship and her life at the time that she tried to commit and this is going to end with them back together in the end? Yeah no

Ashley meets her friend Bella's childhood friend Andrew, and knows immediately that she like him. They're intense and sensual, and before long, they're married. But it doesn't last. The book was slow to get going for me, but picked up after the third or fourth chapter. Ashley lacks confidence early on, mostly because of her job situation, and is suffering from undiagnosed depression, an ugly companion that's even harder to deal with when other aspects of life are not going smoothly. And she blames Andrew for all of it. When they met again, Andrew drove me nuts, sending mixed signals to her, unable to talk to her about his panic. She's ready to move forward, but he can't explain why he's afraid to do just that. Andrew's father Carl is a complete piece of crap for most of the book. Until he invites Ashley to his birthday party. I love Ashley's friends, but especially Bella, who's not afraid to read Andrew the riot act about his behavior toward Ashley. The book is heart-wrenching at times, and heart-warming at others. Ashley and Andrew are intense and sensual. While I'm glad about the direction that their relationship is headed, the book sort of just ended rather abruptly. First read from this author, and I enjoyed the book.
