A mystical cyclops lives in the caves alongside the Missouri River, displaced from her roots and history. Rich, patterned ink drawings and a sense of mythology, history, and Missouri places make 'The Last Cyclops' a truly unique comic. Originally published as a zine in Columbia, Missouri, 'The Last Cyclops' is a strange and visionary folk art comic. 26 full color pages. Written and illustrated by Sarah Goodnow Riley-Land.
The illustrations in this book are lovely and the use of colors is exquisite. While the story is cute and showing the cyclop's genealogy interesting, I wish it was longer and was more to the story, both the last cyclops and what happened to the other mythical creatures that came over to the new world.
