Laura Roberts writes travel themed contemporary romance and short women’s fiction, with steamier stories under the pen name Laure L'Amour. She currently lives in Sacramento, California with her artist husband and their literary kitty, Percy. When she’s not writing, she can be found editing manuscripts for indie authors, transcribing reality TV (her day job), watching rom-coms, testing chocolate recipes, or searching for more typewriters to add to her collection.
This is a fabulous concept for an anthology. It was a quick read and I enjoyed it immensely. Of particular note are essays by Barney Harper, Susanna Donato, Susan Tepper and Dave Thorne. Their essays are fine examples of evocative and beautiful writing. Well done to editor Laura Roberts for pulling together such an eclectic collection. As a bonus, I love that the book's playlist is on YouTube!
When you think of that guy, do you think of that song? We all do. This book is a collection of essays from lesser known writers about that guy (or girl) and that song. Great writing exercise to offer besides the six-word essay.
A collection of essays by lesser known writers on "that song". and "that person." A quick, fun read made even better by the YouTube links. Good models for memoir writing for adults.
