Highlander Romance

In a small little English town on the border of Scotland, highlander Tavish MacFadden has attempted to integrate himself into English society in order to properly spy on them, but unfortunately seems to have condemned himself to nothing but boring English parties. Luckily, on the night before he is to go back to the highlands, he meets Linnet Wakefield, a beautiful recluse engaged to a man she does not love.

Linnet is desperate for a new life, and in a moment of passion she runs away with Tavish, hoping to find a new life. Will they be able to outrun her jealous fiance?

A bunch of super short stories

The first story was over before the 2% point of the book. It would have made a fantastic story if there would have been some length to it. 2%? Ugh then the second story is a paranormal romance which isn't even my cup of tea slightly. I didn't bother to go further than that.

The feature book, Alone with a Highlander, ended at 3% on my Fire. Yes, 3%. I don't think it could even be called a novella at 3%. More like a long term paper. The next two sentences could be a spoiler so read at your own risk: The description said something about the jealous fiance. If he was, he did a good job of hiding it, because he came across as not caring if he married her.

The story itself is flat, the characters are unrealistic and one dimensional and there are very few descriptions. I refused to even read the bonus books because I didn't want to waste any more time on substandard writing.
