I loved Vasili and Malia's story. Malia was a rich billionaire or is it billionairess who meets Vasili (rich also) at her friend's Francois' restaurant in Johannesburg, Africa. They hit it off fast although Vasili was rather evasive about some parts of his past.
What I really enjoyed about this tale was that our heroine accepts his past but I will say that the ending was rushed and to give a better conclusion Fielding could nicely give this story a part two where Malia meets Ashley, the girl he saved (tmi) and really comprehend what Vasili went there to cut all ties with the Russian Mafia. Yes, I said it...(although I hate cliffies!) but the cliffy is needed!
So if you love reading about Russian Mafia, a few of the Russian endearments, a strong alpha male and stronger heroine with wit and class, then this is a great book for you!
What did I just read? The story had NO substance and just when its getting to something, its done. They literally went out on a date, she kept canceling following dates, went out of country together for a day, and then the end. So they're in love now? This story had so much potential if the author gave more.

Although the story seemed a little rushed, it was an interesting story. I loved the fact that Vasili was able to find love after all that he went through. And that what could've easily become a terrible story actually turned out to be pretty decent. Great Job J. A. Feilding!!
The book has a lot of characters and a lot going on for the plot to be so brief. It had potential and i would like to see it fleshed out a bit more and read it again.
I loved this storyline and the twist from the woman (self-made billionaire) having all of the money and power instead of the man. I loved the characters of Malia and Vasili. The chemistry between Malia and Vasili was inevitable. This book will pique your interest in making you want more. I was a little disappointed with the end because I wanted it to continue and give us a little more insight into Malia meeting Ashley, and if Malia and Vasili really had a HEA. Did Vasili go back to being a mafia? Did Malia and Vasili continue to live in South Africa or did Malia return to the United States? Overall, this was a good story, but hopefully this is not the end of the story of Malia and Vasili
Okay I was expecting just a tad bit more than what I got. This was a nice sweet story wrapped into a nice neat package.I am a little disappointed because you usually get so much more from this author. This was a story with so much promise of being a something that just grabs you, only it misses the mark. This is a good story but ,you can't become invested in of the characters are the plot.

I enjoyed this story except for the ending. I'm not s if it's me or the author, but the ending left a little to be desired for me. I guess it's not the happily ever after I expected. And they were not practicing safe sex either
Great book. the story is about how Vasili left the life as an enforcer, saved the life of a young girl from kidnappers and sex slavery, and how he becomes a legitimate businessman. Of course he meets the woman of his dreams and fall in love.
Reading this book felt like reading an outline of a book, the story was set up well, just there was no story! It should have been longer and EVERYTHING expanded on and it woulda been a hit.
