This story has a lot of potential, however to my displeasure it´s filled with a lot of clichés, too much for my taste. I´m reading this in Norwegian so I´m not sure if it´s the translation or the language is really that simple. It feels a bit too simple. On the other hand it is an easy read.

Că i-o spune atunci când acesta o vizitează de ziua ei. Și despre faptul că îi povestește despre toți clienții ei, o discuție sinceră.
Uimitor este faptul că Wes reușește să treacă peste toate acestea... Atât de mult o iubește! Nu mi se pare totuși prea credibil. Nu cred că un bărbat ar accepta atât de ușor că cea pe care o iubește s-a mai culcat după el și cu altcineva...

Re-read in October 2020.
I have the same opinion for the most parts of this one since I read it back in 2016, but I´m going to take the rating down to 3.5 stars. I´m more picky in my ratings now than I was back when I started here on Goodreads.
I wasn´t feeling this one in the beginning as I did the others, but about 1/3 in it it picked up pace for me and I started to enjoy it alot. So happy about how things are turning out for Mia, but...it´s so not over yet!!

This month was accompanied by a trauma from what happened in the previous month.
I expected her to get sexually involved with Anton, but I understand that timing was not the best.
Finally there were developments in her relationship with Wes.
And almost a certainty that next month brings problems.

Wat een ongeloofwaardige serie is dit.. In de spoilertag meer hierover, daar leg ik het uit.
Wes en Mia vind ik wel leuk samen, heerlijk als Wes weer in beeld is. Maar in dit deel was alles wel heel ongeloofwaardig.. En gelukkig heeft Mia weer nieuwe 'vrienden' gemaakt.

I really liked the direction this book took. With some of the previous books I had the feeling the plot got a little bit formulaic at times, but this book breaks that and I am really curious how this series will continue and take this change further. And don't let the blurb mislead you, it sounds like things continue like the previous books, but it definitely surprised me.
This month Mia is to star in a music video with hip-hop artist Anton. They have to dance together with some back-up dancers and guess what Mia doesn't know how to dace. I was wondering how they were going to spun this story and I was pleasantly surprised. We see how Mia struggles with what happened in the previous month and I liked how this book build upon that and showed the reader she didn't get over it as easily as you might have thought.
This series is first and foremost about Mia her journey and this book is an important step in her journey. She makes a decision, which felt very important and I wonder how this will impact the rest of the books. I thought it was realistic to see Mia struggle with what happened last month and eventually try and give it a place. And I felt like I understood her decision a bit more. I also liked how this one tied in with the previous book(s).
Mia meets a few new friends in this book one, but while I thought they had an interesting story, the music video at the same time fell a bit to the background to focus on Mia her story and development. At times I think the novella length might be a tad too short for all the story the author tries to put in it. At times it felt a tad too rushed or like there could be a couple more scenes to get to know her new friends more. I liked the set-up for the next book and am curious how that will play out.
To summarize: I enjoyed this latest installment in this series and I like the direction this book takes. It feels like this book is a pivotal point in this series and it's breaking the more formulaic mold some of the previous books had. Definitely curious to see how the series will continue now. It just missed that tiny bit to bump it up to a 4 star rating for me. I liked seeing Mia her journey continue, her making new friends in this book and the important decision she makes in this one. Ik heb een haat liefde verhouding met deze serie. Aan de ene kant wil ik gewoon weten wat er iedere maand met de nieuwe klant en Mia gaat gebeuren. Aan de andere kant ben ik het snel beu als ik het aan het lezen ben. Niet dat het slecht geschreven is, maar het is zo overdreven allemaal. Ik lees deze serie met de club Books Ever After.

I enjoyed July a lot - loved that we actually got time with Mia and Wes!!!!!! The characters for this one were great, loved the Puerto Rican music artist and the making of the video setting in Miami!!! I'm over half way in the series and am still curious how this is all going to shape up now that we are coming in to the home stretch!!! I said this before but I will say it again - this has been a GREAT summer read, love the 100 page stories for each month! Easy to pickup and finish!

I enjoyed reading this book, but it was nothing special. The plot was interesting though and I'm really happy with this development. Also, I'm really curious what August will bring!

It's unfortunate a thing that happened within this book to take this book from a 3 or 4 to a 1, but I can't look past it.
The characters were good, the story was good. Everything was good, until almost near the end. Everything was done well with Mia's interaction with Anton, good stuff, but then when Wes shows up? Nope, nope nope!

Après les évènements très surprenants survenus dans le tome précédent, j'étais très curieuse de connaître la prochaine aventure de Mia.
Encore une fois, ce tome m'a totalement charmée. Ça se lit tellement rapidement et c'est vraiment la lecture parfaite pour l'été. Mia est engagée cette fois pour jouer dans un vidéoclip. Elle devra y jouer la femme fatale, celle qui est inaccessible. Seulement, difficile de jouer les femmes fortes après le traumatisme qu'elle a vécu il y a quelques semaines à peine. J'ai aimé le fait qu'on ne fasse pas qu'oublier ce mauvais moment et que Mia doivent encore en payer le prix. Elle n'est pas au meilleur de sa forme et a perdu ses repères. Elle va donc devoir réapprendre à faire confiance.
Également, LE moment qu'on attendait depuis des mois est enfin arrivé. C'est en Juillet que Mia va prendre une grande décision. Ça fait vraiment du bien de la voir avouer des sentiments qu'elle n'aurait jamais osé révéler, si ça n'avait été de cette expérience.
Seul petit point négatif, je trouve que les nouveaux clients de Mia sont de moins en moins importants dans le récit. Plus on avance dans la série, plus il y a de personnages et plus Mia a vécu d'expériences différentes. Et pour un livre aussi court, parfois on se perd un peu trop dans les évènement passés des tomes précédents. On ne se concentre plus assez sur le présent. Mais bon, ça n'affecte pas tellement ma lecture ni mon ressenti sur la série en général.
Vraiment, chaque tome de la série Calendar Girl réussi à nous surprendre. C'est addictif et Mia est tellement attachante. On ne peut que l'aime et espérer que tout ira bien pour elle dans les mois qui suivront. Maintenant, il ne reste plus qu'à attendre le mois d'Août pour la suite!

So, basically I determine my rating on what happens with Mia and Wes in each book. I was obviously loving this one solely on the fact that he was really in this one. I liked seeing Mia recover from what happened last month. We are still human. I loved her tattoo idea by the way. I wish there was a part in the book where her and Wes got to talk about it.

Where the last one left me a bit of a wreck this one left me so much happier. I love watching the character of Mia grow and change throughout the months! I can't wait to see what the last few months will bring for this story line I am fully invested !!!

Truly loving this series, and goota ask where in earth Ms Carlan kerps getting these wicked ideas for storylines. They are consistently awesome, but with a under current of something else.
July has Mia heading to sunny Miami, with her attempted rape still playing on her mind and playing havoc with her body. But if anyone can make it better, the Latin Lov-ah, Anton Santiago will, certainly give it a go.
Mia straight off the bat, falls into a fun, light side of man candy Anton, and although he shows plenty of interest in Mia, her replay of the attack has her losing it. Her job is to be a seductress for his new music video, has her havung plenty of flashbacks that turn into full panic attacks. This is where Anton, his PA/ manager Heather and the choreographer Maria help and push Mia into talking it all out. Coming clean will be the hardest. This is the point where Mia must come clean about what happened to not only Anton, but to best friend Gin and eventually Wes.
Yes Wes is back (YAY) and he and Mia learn and find out more about their relationship. Big choices are made... ones that will change both of their lives.
Time will tell if they can stay together or whether the following 4 months will break them. Stay tuned....
On a final note... Huge cudos must go to Audrey and her portrayal of PTSD in this story. I'm sure we all know someone who is affected in some way by a terrible life event. this just bought it to the surface, a reality we all so easily forget sometimes.

Mia's journey continues and this month things really get special!! While Mia is dealing with the aftermath of last month, she also gets a visit from Wes! It was a groundbreaking visit in their relationship!! It was another great month!!
