Shifter Country Wolves #5

Longing for Wolves

Rate this book
Calder Waltz is finished with love.

She died, and with her went his relationship with his mate Sam. With nothing left to lose, Calder drove off into the sunset. He’s spent years bouncing from place to place, and now returning to town for his little sister’s wedding is harder than leaving in the first place.

Then he meets Annika, a curvy brunette who tempts him that way for the first time in years. Suddenly Calder’s world has tilted on its axis, and he can't stop thinking about her.

Annika’s too busy running her bakery to date one person, let alone two shifters - after all, they mate in triads. She especially doesn’t have time for her best friend’s long-lost brother, Calder, even if the way he smiles does make her feel warm and gooey inside. He’s a drifter who refuses to settle down, and she wants a partner, not a project.

Too bad she can’t seem to stay away from the big, brawny alpha with a tragic past...

When Calder shows up at Sam’s house in the middle of the night, completely wasted, his long-abandoned mate does the only thing he can. He lets him in. And with him, the potential for a new beginning - a second chance that centers around lovely Annika.

Can two former mates heal the rift between them? More importantly, can they learn to trust before they lose it all a second time?

How many fated mates does a shifter get?

I think out of all of the Shifter Country Wolves stories this one has been my favorite. The back story is sad but heartwarming and you just want to hug, Sam, and Calder. But at the same time smack the crap out of Calder for disappearing on Sam the way he did.

Annika is a beautiful soul that deserves great mates. She is human and so it didn't really matter to her whom she married, human or shifter, she just wanted to make sure it was love. With Sam and Calder it was instant chemistry. I loved that she didn't know their history so she was able to come into their world and love them for themselves.

Great ending to this series!

Longing for Wolves, book five in the Shifter Country Wolves series.
Calder Waltz returns home for his sister Greta’s wedding after seven years of driving across the country, his only hope is that he can leave town once more before he runs into his mate Sam. Sam just happens to be going on a date at Tooth & Claw, when he just happens to run into Calder leaving to return some plates to local bakery owner Annika. Having briefly met Annika at the bar, Calder knew he felt something but seeing the feisty baker up close was another thing all together, but when he flirts with her, she brushes him off and goes back to work. Sam owns a tattoo parlor next to Annika, where Scarlet works for both of them, and keeps finding ways to leave things behind for Annika to return to the tattoo shop. When Annika meets Sam for the first time, he feels something for the girl as well, but brushes it off at first. When Calder drunkenly comes over to Sam’s one night, they talk about what happened, and they both realize that they still feel the same as they did all those years ago. When Sam sees Annika the next day, he offers the girl a chance to come on a date with both shifters, and she reluctantly agrees. Can fate have given them a new triad member after they lose Marie? And is Annika willing to become the missing member of their triad?

This is Calder , Sam and Annika's story . Calder is finally coming home after 7 years after he basically ran away in the dead of night due to losing his mate . He is on his way home for his sister's wedding and is hoping that he does not run into Sam while he is there for the weekend . Of course fate has a way of stepping in . Sam is trying his best to pull his life together and move on after losing both his mates . Now Sam has decided it is time to start dating again and who does he run into at the door of where he is supposed to meet his date ? Yep you got it . Annika , whom doesn't know the history between Calder and Sam , meets one and then the other . While drunk Calder decides to hit upon her and Annika wants him but knows that she does not want a project anymore . This is well written and I enjoyed it . I was given this ARC and after reading it decided to leave a review .

This has to be my new favorite. This book was born of such sadness and you watch this journey between three people who are hurt or hurting find their way to each other or back to each other.

The story centers mostly on Calder and Sam who are mates. Calder skipped town 7 years ago and left Sam a broken man. However when the meet up again, they can't deny the chemistry but they are unsure if they can go back. I loved reading about these two who still desperately love each other work out their issues and find each other again.

I also liked how Annika played into this. She was interested in them both but could see that she needed the two of them to work it out before she got involved. She mentions she was hurt in the past but we don't get many details.

Once the three of them get together it is amazing!

I like how this was a bit different to the others as no one was together at the beginning, Calder left town 7 years ago after tragedy struck leaving behind Sam to deal with the grief on his own. Now Calder is back for his sisters wedding and he has to deal with how he left and the feelings he still has for Sam. While he is doing that Annika walks into there life and with some nudging along by Scarlet she starts to get to know Sam Scarlets other boss as well as Calder as she is catering his sisters wedding. This is about second chances and finding out if you had love once and lost it will fate let you have it again.

So we come to the end of the Shifter County Wolves...it makes me sad. I wasn't sure I was going to like the wolves series as much as the bears, but after all is said and done, I do. They get better with each book. This one is the most emotional I think. It has the death to deal with and does, but it isn't unbearable. It's handled tastefully and is something that has happened in the past so you don't experience it with the book (meaning no blubbering or ugly crying).

Calder returns to Rustvale, Cascadia for the wedding of his little sister.
But what he really comes back to is the place where he once was happy, and where he fled from in the middle of the night, after a devastating loss.
His mate Ben still lives here. So does Annika the baker!
Wanna know if they fit together?
Well, read and find out.

I have the world’s worst luck. 5 GOLD STARS

I meet two crazy hot, flirty guys in one day, and they’ve got a horrible back story with each other. WHOA! WOW!! What a FURRIFIC story! A truly GRRRREAT ending for the series! *sob* I’m not ready to it to be The End!! *sniff sniff sob wail sniff* I am so excited that Annika gets her own story!! And what a story it is! Filled with lots of nervousness, heartache, pain and sorrow to start, enough that I was crying fairly early on! Then it blossoms into one helluva happy & oh so very hot tail complete with laughter, forgiveness, acceptance, friends, family & love. Which then also led to more tears, although some were happy ones! Of course that barely scratches the surface, but you will need to buy & read it yourself to find out the shortbread surprise inside! ;) Obviously I loved Annika from when we first met her in Greta's story (book 1 - Running with Wolves) onward, but the guys were basically unknowns to me. I can't imagine how horrific things were for them years ago, but I'm surprised that time didn't really move forward for either of them. When Calder had his epiphany moment, well for whatever reason, that started my waterworks again! Thankfully I didn't cause any flooding! Hmmmm, wait a minute... maybe that's EXACTLY what I need to do to find me my own 2 mates! Hell, I'd even "settle" for 1! snicker “settle” chortle I have now read 11 of Roxie's Shifter books - basically every single one that she has released since I discovered her with A Bear's Protection. I have beyond loved every single one! Roxie has this FURLICIOUS way of describing everything without it becoming dry, boring or overdone. I will even go as far as to say that I am BEARY impressed with her writing style & her uniquely FURRIFIC shifters! She creates these FURTASTIC characters that you can't help but come to love. The WOLFTASTIC way you move through the story, meeting & getting to know the characters, when & how you learn their pasts, histories & secrets is not only genius, but it makes them multidimensional, bringing them to life, connecting me to them in ways that feel like they go soul deep! It all combines together to create these deeply enriched stories that immediately captivate me, bringing it all to life in my mind's eye. I get to see their surroundings, see the characters, feel, see and even smell as they do! I even get to BE the characters, living & experiencing this FURRY TAIL of a series both with and AS them, feeling their emotions, cheering for them, hoping their dreams come true and therefore hoping that MY *cough* wet *cough* dreams will come true too! Roxie truly is a phenomenally talented & exceptionally gifted author! Her shifters are like no others, sometimes going through, dealing with and maybe even overcoming their own personal dark secrets & pasts. Every story in this series has 2 males & 1 female that are all mates, but how they get to our The End moment is where Roxie's abilities truly shine! The journey is unique with every book, as are the situations, the characters, their shifter species and well..EVERYTHING! With all of the books I have read, I have NEVER been bored or felt like this had already been done before. And I have NEVER EVER been able to stop reading mid-way through, not even for a pee break! In fact I have, more often than not, re-read the book as soon as I finish it! I make notes as I go so that I can write my review as soon as I finish reading it, but all too often I was so caught up in the story, I forgot to make notes! I know that Roxie has said that this is the last time we will be visiting Shifter Country, but I hope & pray that there is a "for now" added in there! I ABSO-FURRY-LUTELY LOVE & ADORE the Shifters of Cascadia and I am just as ABSO-FURRY-LUTELY PAWSITIVE there are more shifters in the towns & forests who are eager to share their HEA MATELICIOUS story with us!!

Longing for Wolves
Shifter Country Wolves Book 5
by Roxie Noir
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I received a ARC of this book to read and to give my honest opinion in a review. This is book 5 Longing For Wolves written by Roxie Noir. The storyline is fascinating and is very emotional with a little twist on how the characters meet. The flow of words is so great and the pace of the story is just right. Ms. Noir is truly gifted and so very talented and creative. The storyline is Magnificent and well written. I enjoyed the storyline so much I couldn't put my tablet down. But from the first page to the last I was memorized. The characters are engaging, fabulous and fantastic. The dialogue is passionate, realistic, and you will love the interaction between the main characters, the chemistry is scorching hot and they leap off the page with life that's so real. The scenes description are vivid, beautiful picturesque and dynamic with lots passion. All 5 of the books can be read as a stand alone but they are a series. This is a another great story of a hot ménage.

Sam and Calder was living the life of their dreams a triad with Marie, when Marie their mate had a freak accident and died. The two wolves couldn't handle the loss. Calder handle his loss by running away, he kept running until his sister invited him to come back for her wedding. Sam handled his by working through his grief but he felt he lose both of his mates so he had to rebuilt his life. Sam is a tattoo artist and owns his own shop. Sam runs into Calder at Tooth and Claw bar when he was on his way in. Sam is surprised to see him and didn't know that he was in town.

Annika is new in town and she is a baker who runs her own shop. She is busy preparing Greta's wedding, when she takes some samples for Greta to taste, she threaten everyone about eating the wedding samples. When Annika sees a man eating the wares she is about to let him have it. But Greta hugs him and announces he is her long lose brother. Annika is surprise how gorgeous he is but she feels he is trouble.

Both men express their feelings for each other in a hot night together. Sam is afraid Calder isn't planning on staying in town and he doesn't want to get hurt again. They both meet Annika at different times and feels that she could put that spark in their heart. Something they both thought was broken. Calder and Sam decided they would work to together to rebuild their relationship. Both Calder and Sam are attracted to Annika and decide to ask her out. Annika, Sam and Calder enjoy their night out. They are all lonely but can the three of them find love. They must decide if they are willing to put themselves in a vulnerable position and get hurt while seeing if this could work for them.

This is a great read and I hate to see the series end. If you enjoy reading shifter romance with suspense and lots of action this is a great choice for your TBR list. Highly I recommend this book and the series.

If you believe in the world of paranormal romance, the possibilities are endless and fascinating!

Roxie Noir took the wolves out with a bang! "Longing for Wolves" has to be the best book of them all. It has the two men of the triad longing for each other and grieving for their lost mate. One has given up on love and the other is trying to get back in the game by trying to date. That is till the other comes back to town. The woman of the triad meets them both and has feelings for them both, but doesn't understand her attraction to them nor does she know what they are. Roxie really put some thought into this book. The story line and the characters all work in together. My attention was grabbed at the beginning of the book and my attention was held till I finished the book. This is a good read for anyone at the age of 18or older.

Calder left Rustvale when his mate drowned in a boating accident. He couldn't take the heart ache and he wanted Sam to be able move on and make a life without him. The memories were too strong and hurt too bad to stay. So he tried several things and decided to roam the country writing Romance novels. Then the wedding of his little sister brings him back to Rustvale and this is harder than when he first left. He is forced to deal with with his feelings for Sam and the growing feelings for the curvy brunette who tilted his world upside down.

Annika is the owner of a bakery and is best friends with Greta, the owner of the Tooth and Claw bar. Annika runs into Calder at Greta's bar when she setting up for Greta and her mates to taste sweets and cakes that they will want for their wedding. Calder is eating a brownie when Anniika walks out and catches him. She is attracted to him and decides she is too busy to fall for him even if he rocks her world and makes feel things she hasn't felt in ages. She meets Sam when she takes Scarlett's purse to him since she also worked for him part time. Scarlett then comes up with a plan to help Annika ponder her feelings for Sam.

Calder shows up unexpected at Sam's house on the night before the wedding and he wasn't expected and completely wasted. Sam does the only thing he can do and lets a drunk Calder in. Is this their chance for a second beginning and a new love to fill their hearts and their triad?

You are going to have to read the book to find out. Promise you will not be disappointed. ARC free book for honest review.

Home to stay?
I just finished reading Longing for Wolves (Shifter Country Wolves Book 5). As with book 1-4 it was GREAT!! But what else could you expect from Roxie Noir?!?!
I am hooked on this series, and sad to have it end, BUT it will NOT be the end of me reading Roxie's work! This one even made me cry! But I LOVED it & couldn't put it down! I gave it ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Stars! I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review!
Calder comes back to Rustvale just for his sister Greta's wedding, after leaving his mate Sam 7 years earlier when their human triad partner Marie died. He never planned to come back. He thought leaving would help him heal, but it didn't. Was coming back the right thing to do, even for his little sister? Sam is still miserable even after 7 years, and let's Scarlet his apprentice convince him to go on a date. However when he opens the door to the Tooth and Claw bar, Calder is walking out. They both freeze, but neither says anything to the other and Calder walks away AGAIN! Sam wondered if he'd be in town for the wedding, but it still knocked the wind out of him & ruined his date! Annika owns the Rustvale bakery and is making the cake and sweet treats for Greta's wedding, when Calder sees her for the first time he gets an odd feeling but then it's gone. When Sam sees her for the first time he feels unstable, she makes him nervous.
Will Calder stay around for Greta's wedding or just leave, if he stays for the wedding will he hightail it out as soon as the wedding is over? Or will he stay this time, but staying means the mates will run into each other, can they deal with that after all these years, or can they work on at least talking to each other, Rustvale is a small town after all! How does these strange feeling they both get from Annika fit in? They've already had their human triad partner and she died, so what does it all mean & how will it all work out?? You've got to read it to find out, and I DEFINITELY recommend you do! Even though this is book 5 of the series and they all connect around Rustvale and its residents, it is not vital to read them in order, but I personally enjoyed reading them from the beginning.
QUOTES **quotes pulled straight from the book**
“I’m never going to get over you, even if I never see you again. I hate knowing that, but it’s true.”
Partial Quote **...I love you, and nothing else mattered.**

Longing For Love With A Side Of Hot Menage!

4 1/2 Longing For Love Stars Rating!

Longing For Wolves is the 5th book in the series. It can be read as a stand alone. It is another great story with a hot ménage. The author has done it again and created characters that you want to care about. This book is slightly different than the others in the series. Where in other books the characters (shifter wolves) are looking for a female to complete the triad, in this story the female mate has died in an accident years earlier.

Calder and Sam were once in a triad with Marie. They were happy and in love. But after Marie died in an accident, Calder woke up one day and left town. He left his family and Sam behind. Calder returns to Rustvale for Greta's wedding without telling anyone.

Annika is a baker and runs her own shop. She is busy preparing for Greta's wedding (her best friend), when she meets a man eating some of the wedding desserts. Annika becomes attracted to two men at the same time, one of whom is Greta's brother.

Sam has made some changes since the break up or loss of his relationship. Sam is a tattoo artist and owns his own shop. He has missed Calder since he has left town. Sam runs into Calder at Tooth and Claw bar when he was on his way in. Sam is surprised to see him and didn't know that he was in town. He still has feeling for Calder.

Both men express their feelings for each other in a hot night together. Sam doesn't want to get hurt again and doesn't know if Calder is planning on staying in town. They both are attracted to Annika and decide to ask her out. Annika, Sam and Calder are all successful in their own right, but they are lonely. All three of them long to find love. They must decide if they are willing to put themselves out there / be vulnerable to get it (in my opinion).

I love the occupation that Calder has and how he described who people thought he really was. Hilarious! Some of my favorite scenes are when Annika meets Calder, and he eats her brownies. I enjoyed the scene when she is gossiping to Sam not knowing that it involved him. Poor Annika. I loved all the tricks / antics that Scarlet does to get Annika to go to the tattoo shop.

Longing for Wolves is the fifth book in the Shifter Country Wolves series. It is a stand-alone book that connects with other books in the series through some shared characters and has an HEA with no cliffhangers. I enjoyed reading this book and look forward to reading more from this author in the future. It's not necessary to read the other four books in this series first or even at all but I would definitely recommend doing that. I would also recommend this book to fans of paranormal series, especially ones interested in werewolf and menage romances.

Synopsis:

Calder left town after the tragic death of one of his mates, Marie. He left his other mate, Sam, behind without even saying goodbye. He's returning to Rustvale now after being gone for seven years. His little sister Greta's getting married, how could he not come back? When he arrives at his sisters bar he meets Annika and for the first time in years he feels an overwhelming attraction to somebody. On his way out of the bar he runs into Sam again, but they pass each other like strangers, neither one acknowledging their shared past.

Annika owns the local bakery in Rustvale and is catering Greta's wedding. This is the first wedding she's ever baked for and she can't afford to screw this up. Which is why she doesn't appreciate her attraction to Calder and Sam. She's done with projects and isn't in to the idea of dating two guys at once. Despite this she has a hard time turning Calder down when he continuously hits on her. She tell him to get his crap together.

Sam owns a tattoo parlor and is a talented artist. He's moved on from his personal tragedy much better than Calder has. He's on his way to The Tooth & Claw for a date, when he sees Calder again for the first time since he ran out on him in the middle of the night. Later, Calder shows up at his cabin completely wasted. What's he supposed to do? Let him in of course. After a night of passion, it's Sam that leaves while Calder is sleeping. Will these two be able to leave the hurts of the past behind and find happiness again?

LONGING FOR WOLVES-{Shifter County Wolves #5} A PASSIONATE ROMANTIC STORY.

This story focuses on; CALDER a heart stirring charasmatic wolf-shifter and ghost-romance writer; SAM, a strapping sultry, wolf-shifter and tattoo artist; Annika, a curvaceous beauty and baker.

What you'll find in this story; a cast of remarkably impressive and engaging characters, fantastic story-line, picturesque and powerful vivid scene descriptions, phenomenal banter, heart-rending moments, emotions spiral, earth shattering toe-curling sensual romance, and a heart-warming ending that is sure to make you smile and wanting more..

Calder left Sam his mate, and home seven years ago because he could not cope with the death of their female mate who was lost to them due to a whitewater rafting accident. Coming back home to Rustvale for his sister Greta’s wedding finds him scared to see Sam, wondering if he has found other mates. Annika is Greta’s friend, and baker for the wedding; when she meets Calder and Sam she is quite taken with them, but really does not want to be in the middle of their issues. Sam and Calder have to find a way to put the painful emotions of the past behind them if they want a chance at true happiness.

WOW/SPECTACULAR-fast paced well written creative read by a truly gifted author. The characters are convincing and spring to life with exhilarating scene descriptions, intriguing plot, and fantastic dialogue. The romance blazes with fiery passion and is filled with undying adoration. I relished this story as it was a most entertaining read. If you treasure shifter romance with engaging characters and sizzling romance this is certainly a terrific book for your library. {I was given a complementary copy of this book, and this is my completely honest review}. In the world of shifter romance the possibilities are endless and always fascinating. Without reservations I recommend this book.

i read this book as part of an arc program. This is the fifth book in the Shifter Country Wolves series. In this book, Calder returns home for the wedding of his sister Greta to her mates after leaving years earlier after his mate Maria died and he left their mate Sam. Calder left Sam in the middle of the night without a warning and no one ever knew the reason why. Sam waited for Calder to come back, but after a few years, he moved out of their home and tried to move on. When Calder when to Greta's bar to tell her he was home, he met Annika, the baker who was catering the wedding. Calder was attracted to Annika, but she thinks he has too many issues to go out with him. Sam was meeting a date at the bar when he sees Calder, and they pass without saying a word to each other. Sam is shaken to see Calder again and doesn't know what to do. Calder saw Sam and he wanted to go to him, but he was afraid Sam had moved on and wouldn't talk to him. When Calder gets drunk the night of the rehearsal dinner, he shifts and goes to see Sam. They still have a connection and when they realize neither moved on, they act on their feelings. Sam sees Annika and asks her out, telling her he and Calder want to date her. Annika is unsure about being in a triad, but she agrees to a date. I really love this series. I love how Calder and Sam still loved each other and were able to work things out. I think the triad between Calder, Annika and Sam was a good one with great chemistry. I love how this series tied all the books together. I am sorry to see it end.

sam and calder were once a mated triad, that was until their mate died. unable to cope with her loss calder packed up and left town, not just for a few weeks, not even a few months, but for 7 years!
and now he's back for his baby sister's wedding. in town there is a sweet girl that grabs his attention and suave as he's become over the years, getting into her panties is priority number one.
but even at the rehearsal dinner annika isn't having any of it, even when she thinks he's one gorgeous specimen. having a drink to many calder reflects on everything and ends up at sam's porch and not much later in sam's bed.
it's a start but getting back together isn't easy and more then once calder has the urge to get on his bike and drive of. when sam comes to grip with his own feelings and starts paying attention to annika too, the two wolves are mending their broken heart and are in agreement that annika would be a perfect fit for them both.
but does annika sees it the same way? because she can't see herself with two men!
a tale of grief, emotional and raw, self reflecting and open. with some meddling from a friend things get pushed a little into a certain direction.

loved this sweet read in the shifter country wolves series, the bar gets raised with every books that comes out so i know the next one will be just as good, if not better and i already know the wait will be hard!

Longing for Wolves is the fifth book in the Shifter Country Wolves series. Seven years ago, Calder ran from his town, family, mate, and problems, never wanting to look back, until his sister’s wedding. Returning, he’s scared to see what’s (who has) changed, as he feels like he hasn’t. Seeing his mate, Sam, again really threw his life into a spin, needing to face feelings and problems that he’s buried deep. Add into the mix Annika, the sexy baker who he can’t get out of his mind, and Calder is really reeling. Is it possible that Mates can have a second chance, and if so, can Calder prove to Sam and Annika that he’s willing to change and stick around for them?

Wow, this was an emotional book full of grief, angst, figuring out what makes you you, and what’s most important in life. Calder was so broken and I loved a lot of his internal realizations and the strength he found to overcome his demons. Sam was almost a shell of his former self, but was willing to face the realities, and even help his long missing mate. Annika was amazing, thrown into these two hurting men, wanting only to heal their bond, and wanting to live through and with them. I loved her hesitance, her willing to say no, and her growing passion! All together, the three of them were amazing, I loved reading their trials and triumphs, and I really loved their romance. This was a fabulous book to end the wolf series and I really enjoyed every minute that I spent reading!

Longing for Wolves is the final book in the Shifter Country Wolves series where our three main characters have already had a tiny bit of backstory in previous books.
Calder is the brother of Greta from book 1. And Sam and Annika were introduced in book 4.
We already knew Calder had run away and Sam was really sad about something. And in this book, we learn that Sam and Calder had been mates and part of a triad where their mate had died.

Sam and Calder coming back to each other, with the added addition of Annika in their lives, was heartbreaking, but I loved it. You could easily tell how in love the men had been, and how devastated they had been over the loss of their mate, so falling for someone else was always going to be scary. And for Annika, being human meant that being with two men at the same time was a big jump.

This story was so sad, because of the loss of Sam and Calder's mate, and their subsequent breakup. But it was so heartwarming when they came back to each other. Their relationship with Annika made it all the better. But honestly, Sam and Calder's reunion was my favourite part of Longing for Wolves, and it should be read for that alone. Everything else is just icing on the cake. That is not to say I didn't like Annika, or her role in the story as one of the main characters, because I did. But I just love a good second chance romance.

I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.

Longing for Wolves, book five in the Shifter Country Wolves series by Roxie Noir, under the pen name Dakota West.

Definitely saving the best for last with this series ending book. A second chance romance with a strong set of main characters that will both make you laugh and pull at those heartstrings. If you've read the previous books, all these character should be familiar as you have Annika (who hires Scarlet to work at her bakery) and Sam (who gives Scarlet her coverup tattoos), both in the last book, and Calder (who is Greta's absent brother from the first book). The story takes place with the backdrop of Greta's wedding which is the reason Calder returns to his hometown after being gone for years following the death of one of his mates. Calder didn't cope well and left and hasn't stopping moving since. Sam stayed after one mate's death and the other's abandonment, and moved on with his life the best he can. As Annika prepares the desserts for the wedding, she is constantly bumping into both Sam and Calder. Annika was just an overall great character who is strong and and independent and the instigator for the changes in Calder's life. Not only does she turn him down repeatedly, but she tells him to fix himself. The story was a bit of a slow burn as it is not until the very end, after a minor disaster, that the three finally get together and go for that HEA. I'm sad to see this series end, but it was such a fantastic way to go out with this story!

"4 out of 5 stars! About seven years ago, in a freak accident, Sam and Calder lost their mate, Marie. That tragedy changed them in ways neither could have predicted and made Calder so scared that he left Sam not long after Marie’s death without any notice. Now Calder returns for his younger sister’s wedding and to face the past he has never gotten over. Not long after returning to town, he meets Annika, a lovely baker who is creating his sister’s deserts for the wedding, and finds himself thinking a new future. However, Annika won’t allow herself to take on any more “projects” so she makes Calder and Sam to face their shared past, but what will the future hold for them all when everything is all said and done.

This touching novel deals with meaningful situations and throws in fun twists. I really enjoyed how Annika stuck to her wishes and the plot played out. Filled with longing, hope, and a plenty of lust..."

Over the last year or two Roxie Noir has become one of my favorite authors. I read everything she writes that I can get my hands on. This book had so many emotions swirling around. The bond of the triad is practically unbreakable. After losing Marie in a freak rafting accident, Sam and Calder tried to find a way to go on. Calder's idea was to run away from everything that reminded him of Marie. That included Sam. Seven years have gone by and Sam has tried to move on with his life. Then Calder returns for his sister Greta's wedding and he realizes you can't run from true love. They also realize that losing their mate doesn't mean they can't have a fulfilling life. Annika has a bakery and is catering Greta's wedding, but she has seen what Calder's running has done to both men. She would love to see what could happen between them, but doesn't want to have to try to fix Sam and Calder's relationship. So much going on, so many emotions, and too good to miss out on. This series just keeps getting better and better with each story. I received a free copy of this book for an honest review.

**3.5**
Can't believe this is the last of the wolf series :/ I have to say with the hints from past books, I was expecting something from Greta's long-lost brother & Sam, but Annika was the surprise. From the last book, I got the impression she was "older" (like 40s) for some reason. Anyways, this one had a unique take in featuring separated mates, plus the 3rd having died of unnatural causes. While I liked the different approach, I can't say that it entirely worked for me. This is probably my prejudice in not liking any romance with a dead partner in the past; there'd always be that doubt in my mind, and I project it onto the character. But it wasn't just the dead female partner of the triad, it was walking into the minefield of unresolved issues between Calder & Sam (who've been separated for 7 years).

I liked that there was a passage of time before Annika relented in being with them, but in the end, even with their talk of the past, I felt like she didn't quite "fit" with the men. And with very little talk about their late partner, I didn't get much of a sense of their past triad dynamic, either.

Tragedy separated Calder and Sam when their mate died. Calder is finally back and not sure what to do. He still has feelings for Sam and now he is developing quite an attraction to Annika. Sam doesn't want to get hurt again but he has missed Calder. He is also feeling attracted to Annika. Annika likes them both but doesn't want drama and isn't sure if she is ready for a triad.

Poor Annika is stuck in the middle with the past haunting them all. None of them want to get hurt but they will have to take a chance if they want the opportunity to make it work this time around. Sam is a tattoo artist and a lot quieter than Calder. They both felt the pain when they lost their mate and he has struggled to date again after Calder left him too. Calder is writing with lots of charm but not very good about sharing and handling his feelings. They make a very supportive team.

It is a quick moving story with a lot of charm. The chemistry among them all is strong. There is also humor and fun in their interactions.

I’m going to miss this Shifter Country Wolves Series – Each one is a winner!!

Calder is reluctantly going to his sister’s wedding. The wedding is not the issue. The female of his triad died, along with his relationship with his mate Sam. Calder has spent 7 years traveling on his bike, running from any relationships. It would kill him to see Sam moved on with another triad, even though Calder was the one who left.

Annika, the baker for the wedding, knocks him for a loop literally and figuratively. She is attracted to both Sam and Calder knowing they both have a past, but not realizing that they were each other’s past. Does fate provide another chance with mates? Can past hurts be forgiven?

I continue to enjoy Roxie’s triad stories. The dynamics between those in the triad remain well-written and steamy. The extra connection that is written into these relationships makes this series irresistible.

The book is about Calder and Sam two wolf shifters and Annika a human woman but this story doesn't start with all 3 and the 1st time for Calder and Sam with there 1st mate ends with losing her. Calder can't take it and runs away leaving Sam with the loss of both his mates
After 7 years Sam is still trying to move on and on his first date in 7 years when he see Calder. Then there is Annika what's she to do when she wants both men and they have so much baggage? Can Sam forgive and move forward? Can Calder stop running?
Drama, fun and fast pace hotness. The shifters come in mates of 3's in this series is the twist to this shifter series. In some of the last books there was bad guys in the story that I loved seeing to off set the book with only romance but I guess the author thought having 2nd chance and the one mate running away was drama enough lol so if your into 2nd chances and a fast a fun romance this book it for you. Fun add to your shifter library
Book gifted for an honest review
Small warning it does have mm stuff

This is the story of Sam and Annika. If you have read the other stories in this series then you got a quick glimpse of Sam before. Sam is a tattoo artist and he is a quite (not really shy) wolf who observes before speaking/acting.

Annika is a baker, she makes the most delicious desserts (I mean I want some of these yummy sweets)! She is making a cake for a friend’s wedding (Greta from another story, Calder’s sister), when she meets Sam. She also meets Calder and finds that she is developing feelings for them both. What she doesn’t know is that Sam and Calder used to be a couple. She wants both men but Calder has to make some changes before she or Sam try a relationship.

I loved this story as it had the elements of second chance romance and a fate intervene romance. I really enjoyed the characters and the dialogue; not to mention that this MFM/MMF story is hot! A must read for others who love these stories and any reader who wants a sweet and stratifying read. I received an ARC and am leaving an honest review.

I really enjoyed this story! It was a fun read and I love some of the connections that we get from early books in the series. They are something extra for the reader who has read them but it doesn't make a new reader feel like they are missing out on anything. This was a fairly quick read for and one that I greatly enjoyed. The characters are well written and the story is interesting. Calder has been trying to heal from the death of his female mate. He ran in an effort to heal and he left behind his male mate. Sam has been trying to heal and be able to move forward and then Calder comes back to town for his sister's wedding. They both meet Annika within days of each other. I loved the way that the death of their mate was handled with them finding Annika and her being another mate. I thought that it was very well done and nothing was felt left out or like the first didn't matter. The story flowed smoothly and was entertaining. It held my attention the entire time.
