Kat Fiorelli is the queen of Monterra. That was weird, but that’s what you get for marrying the Crown Prince, and when his parents abdicate… Voila! You find yourself on the throne. But with Nico at her side, and running most of the show, she could handle it. Now if their plans for starting a family would kick into gear, she would be much happier with things. But wishing for things tends to get people into to trouble, and Kat is no exception.
…Then comes baby in a baby carriage!
Pregnancy is no joke, and with it comes all sorts of adventures. Being a pregnant Royal is even worse, since literally everyone is watching. With the pressure of being on the throne, and her impending motherhood, Kat’s fears come to life. Could she meet the world’s expectations, and her own? Would she actually be able to handle this pregnancy on top of everything else? And the most important question of all…would her cravings ever go away?
I was born once upon a time, and I started making up stories right away. Eventually, I started writing them down, and never stopped! I have a day job, which gets in the way of my writing, but it pays the bills so I CAN write, so I guess that's okay! I am a bookworm, which I think is key to being a writer, and I am always looking for inspiration! I live in Indiana, am obsessed with hot chocolate, and I am on track to be the best aunt in the world.
I read through most of the other Royals of Monterra books, and still didn't think I would be interested in this one. I didn't want to read about Kat's insecurities. Then I read Rebecca Connelly's other books, An Arrangement of Sorts, and Married to a Marquess. If you enjoy regency romances, go read them. Now! When I finished those, I realized that Rebecca Connelly had written this, and I was finally ready to give it a try.
I loved it!
1. I would think that it would be hard to write and stay true to someone else's characters. Rebecca Connelly made it look easy. I felt like Sariah Wilson was writing it, because the characters and their reactions were spot on for Kat, Nicco, Lemon, and Dante.
2. The descriptions of pregnancy, the impatience for delivery, and the pain of labor were scarily accurate. I am glad that I did not think to look on Pinterest when I had my baby last year. Who knows what lengths I would have gone to to induce labor. I loved Kat, I understood Kat, I felt like I was going through everything with her, yet strangely would be willing to go through it all again for the sweet baby at the end.
3. While I was expecting a book about pregnancy angst, there were plenty of sweet moments, and a whole lot of humor.
For fans of the series, this is a great continuation of the story, and I'd highly recommend it. My other favorite Royals of Monterra additions are: Tailor Made, Royal Quest, and The Forgotten Princess.
Content: clean (some kissing, and details about pregnancy and labor that might not be suitable for a young audience)
This is my favorite story in the The Royals of Monterra kindleworld so far. It seems like it could have been written by Sariah Wilson. The characters have same feel to them.
It is funny caring, snarky and tender as we see Kat go through her pregnancy. She is Queen Kat now. The world is watching her. The King is willing to do anything for her.
I would like to read more books by Rebecca Connolly.
This was cute funny novella about being pregnant and also a queen in a country she didn't grow up in. Sooo many truths about pregnancy and all the silly and not so silly things that come with it. Well written and a great read!
ENSUALITY RATING: NO Profanity; NO sexual encounters *Great book for an Adult that is looking for clean romance and not “feel” so YA*
GENRE: Modern day; Romance; CLEAN
SETTING: Castle in Monterra
CENTRAL FEMALE CHARACTER: ARIA and LEMON, both pregnant, one a queen and the other a princess.
CENTRAL MALE CHARACTER: DOMINIC and DANTE Fiorelli; one a king and one a prince,
SYNOPSIS: One has no problem getting pregnant. The other is desperately trying. They both have husbands that are totally in love with them. Lemon has an awesome way with PR and the world falls in love with both royal pregnancies. Who will deliver first? What sex are the babies? What names? How do the dad's feel about the pregnancies. Christmas is fast approaching.
WHAT I LIKED: The little girl in the hospital with the doll. The dance party. Nesting was hilarious.
WHAT I DID NOT LIKE: Everyone knows, “not on Xmas”. We get it so stop saying it.
OVERALL RATING: (5) stars because swoon worthy. Nothing like a husband that attends to a wife that is pregnant.
It was interesting to read this sequel. A different author so the tone was different. The story was interesting as we experienced pregnancy through Kat and Lemon's perspective. At times there seemed to be a bit too much whining over the less pleasant aspects of being pregnant, and unfortunately that can get tiresome for a reader. But I thought the author did a decent job of continuing their story.
The editors should be spanked for allowing grammatical errors like "...and I" instead of "....and me.". This is found repeatedly in this book and in the previous story.
Love the Monterey Royals. The stories, even when done by different authors, are all quite cute and a good read. Beware the Royal Battle of the Babies! Especially the Daddy edition.
I loved how clean and fun this author is. This story describes pregnancy in grim detail, and so accurately, it was funny. Great editing and wonderful writing.
Royal Delivery is a sweet Kindle Worlds novella written by author Rebecca Connolly. It is based on the characters from author Sariah Wilson's The Royals of Monterra series.
I have read two other Rebecca Connolly books and loved them, couldn't put them down. This one not so much. I loved, An arrangement of Sorts and Married to the Marquess. In this one all Kat did was complain about being pregnant, REALLY?? I wanted to slap her and tell her how lucky she was to be able to be pregnant. Maybe it hit a bit too close to home, I'm not sure. I'm pretty sure no one spends nine months feeling horrible and complaining.
I enjoyed this one best because it included so many of the thoughts, feelings and struggles I've had the last couple weeks of my pregnancy. I was pretty impressed with how accurate her portrayal of pregnancy was without going overboard. It was a good read right before I went into labor. :)
I have so enjoyed this series!!! I was really wanting a little light reading after some of the books I have been reading and this series hit the spot. The Royals of Monterra are some of my favorite books. It is a book I could enjoy reading again!!!!
Gosh this book is so truthful (or those who have been pregnant but damn from what uve seen i think it was pretty accurate 😂😂)and funny and so touching. I just wish i knew the backstory of this 🤷♀️ the relationship between nico and kat and also after having baby luca is just so mesmerizing i was full in smiling throughout reading the book the wit is insane!
