I've been keeping lists of books read since college. Regularly occurring during breaks from school are bursts of science fiction reading after months of more serious reading. Very little intelligence went into most of these book and author selections. Rather, I would pick up books from yard sales, junk stores and resale shops all through the year, accumulating piles to be read during these periods of freedom. Short story collections would generally be favored because at least some of the pieces within would likely be good. Novels by unknown or unremembered authors were much greater risks.

This was one such acquisition, about which I recall nothing in particular--probably read the whole thing in a sitting.
