Danvier agrees to rescue Haven Tandori from her ruthless kidnapper, but Haven is anything but grateful. Her continual demands and fits of temper stir the darker elements of Danvier's personality. He wants to tame her, control her, and leave her aching for his touch.Haven is infuriated by the arrogant harbinger. She didn't ask for his assistance and she has no intention of following his orders. Her life is riddled with secrets and tragedy. She can't afford to open up to anyone, even the handsome harbinger who insists he wants only to protect her.Note to This book contains detailed descriptions of sizzling passion only suitable for mature readers. From Battle Born is a spinoff of my Shadow Assassins series. However, it's not necessary to have read the earlier books to enjoy these new stories. All of my books are cross-genre romances. They blend elements of science-fiction, fantasy, and paranormal romance. The Battle Born books lean a bit more toward sci-fi, but there is still plenty of steamy romance. Enjoy!

Passionate Sci-Fi with a touch of danger and a whole lot of sass.

Cyndi has written about rock stars, vampires, and cat shifters, but she's currently focused on outer space. Her stories are fun, fast-paced, and seriously hot. She has made the USA Today Top 100, and every book in the Outcasts series landed on Amazon's Top 100. She is currently working on Shadowborn Rebellion, a spin-off series set in the Outcasts universe.

I stoped reading this series for some reason, I probably lost it in my massive TBR pile, I got engrossed in a more recent series and loved it so I decided to come back and finish this one.
I am always wary reading anything written before #metoo, theses days, so much changed for readers and authors. It brought us out into fighting for our right to choose in all things that affect us, it changed the romance genre too, I’ve seen the change and loved every minute of it. Things like dub con or bully behavior I would have been forced to accept as „normal“ in many romances have now become under its own trope heading and I have a choice to not read it.
This author skirts through some very tricky subjects, lots of Dom/sub situations, (I’m not a fan but if the books good outside the sex scenes I’ll read it), lots of forced situations, abductions being one of them. This book starts with a kidnapping, but it flows into something more and the kidnapping is seen as a rescue. I liked that Danvier gives the choice to accept him over to Haven completely, and I like that she made him work for it.

I enjoyed this book, but I didn't love it. I have others in the series I enjoy more.

I feel like this series moves too quickly - I don't need to anticipate anything because anything suggested early in the book has happened by the end and i'm not saying minor plot points, but large parts that reading earlier books I believed would be an ongoing issue in the series.
for example, all the enemies are now gone and I feel no satisfaction - considering there are 13 books in the series I do hope a new threat comes along and this time its a real threat.

While the romance was nice, it wasn't really something too new.

I'm hoping the series can introduce some suspense and something new so they don't become a drag and too repetitive!

Awesome

Well. It's not my favorite but I really liked it. Danvier has so many more levels to his personality. No one but Garin and possibly his uncles have ever seen it though. He is very patient with Haven. She was annoying with her secrets. We still don't understand why Javin made her his mate. I really don't like Pyre. She is horrible. Milani is in a bit of a mess. What is wrong with Fyran? Holy crap. I love Garin and Berlynn.

Terrific

I thoroughly enjoyed reading this one. If you enjoy reading sci-fi romantic fiction then you will love this one. I can't wait to read the next one in the Battle Born series.
