Sydney I always thought soulmates were an illusion dreamed up in fairytales until Kane. He stormed in during the scariest moment of my life, and even though he fights his own demons, he fights harder for me. Together, we have an unbreakable bond.
Kane I’m ruthless, especially when it comes to Sydney. She has a stalker, and he’s brought company. Sydney is MINE, and I will do whatever it takes to keep her safe. But, when we’re hit with a surprise, our lives are changed forever…
This was a nice reading and it's author's first book! All characters were likeble.I liked the whole family and friendly vibe that was going on.Kane and Sydney were great together! The story was sweet, funny and hot.Kane was really sweet, prostective, and a possessive alpha male who would do anything for his family.Syndey was nice and tried to be the best for her man and the people she loved.I liked their gang and the crazy stuff they did together.Everyone have been through a lot,so we get a glimpse of their past lives but I think they would get a book of their own for more details.
"Hmm,baby,if you want to play just tell me. It's not good teasing a man who wants to fuck you.Hard."
The thing that kind of bothered me in this book was that too many things were going on.I think the author could have writen 3 different books if not more with the things that were happening in this story. I mean what the hell are you going to write for the other stories...???? I'm gonna give you some of the things that hapened. It was a short fast paced story with a lot of things happening. And you didn't have the time to absorb the new information. You know to enjoy it and keep reading to see what will happen next...
"I'm not going to let those demons haunt what I have because, baby, I'll fight harder for you. Always."
It was a nice enough story so I didn't need to drink and forget everything! By the way I loved the kids! They were great!!! I'm glad they found Kane and Sydney to love and protect them!
3.5stars! hmmm I really enjoyed the romance part of this book. the hero was great! He was sweet and loving! heroine was ok at times and better other times. some things bothered me a bit. I felt like too much was going on in this. Too many different ideas were thrown in where it would make things unbelievable . at times it was like they knew each other but then they really didn't. we didn't get too much history. Also I didnt know who Chase was for a while . lol I thought he was another brother(he's her brothers friend). Then you get her best friend out of no where .then we get Jessica. lol Alot of terrible things happen to some of the characters. Also there were a few inconsistencies. other than that it was an ok read. I did love the little girl:) she was too cute! Epilogue was perfect:)! I did cry a tiny bit. I'm not sure if I'll read about other characters due to the fact of my own personal triggers!
safety : no other women drama. no mention of his past.he didn't seem like a big manwhore! they didn't use condoms. When he saves heroine from being kidnapped the first time he stays with her in that hospital. then when she is released it's a month later when she sees him again. nothing is mentioned if he was ow or where he was. I truly feel there was no other! heroine was a virgin she had a stalker. some other man drama. but this is someone she turned down she never dated him. heroine is almost kidnapped once and actually kidnapped another time. she does get attacked and beat up a bit. there is mention of rape(not heroine). This had some sexy times just not a whole lot of details at times. other than that I feel like this was a safe read.
This was just an okay read for me. I did like the romance especially how sweet the hero was with the heroine. However there was just too much going on with the rest of the plot and I felt it was a little unbelievable that all these characters had so many horrible things happen in their past. However I would definitely consider reading more from this author.

Protecting His Forever was the first book in the Forever series by LeAnn Ashers.
Kane and Sydney met when Sydney was in trouble and called her brother, Ethan. Ethan and Kane served in the military together. Kane saved the day, literally. It was an insta-love story.
Protecting His Forever was written with a dual POV. From the relationship perspective it was sappy sweet mixed in with a suspenseful plot. I loved that the drama was never about the relationship. There was drama but it was all from external factors which kept us guessing. I liked the suspenseful plot and it kept me hooked, but it was confusing at times. I preferred a deeper dive into the details of the conflicts.
Otherwise, it was a quick and enjoyable read. Loving His Forever is up next with Ethan’s story but there are so many other intriguing stories to tell as well.
This book had potential, the 1st chapter was even great that I wanted to keep reading, but at about 14% I gradually lost patience, and then too many things happened to almost everyone (including h's mother, h's best friend …), and it was just in the 1st half of this book! So I got headache.
This book would be better if it mainly focused on H and h, and her stalker. The secondary characters' past, trauma, or threat just distracted me.
I really did try to finish this, but it just didn't work out unfortunately. I honestly think that this story had potential, but had poor execution and delivery.
This story started out fine for me. As I got further into the story, that's when issues started coming up. I believe that there were way too many ideas thrown in that I felt the author couldn't decide which plot she wanted to focus on. The story was all over the place to say the least.
Additionally, I think part of why Protecting His Forever didn't appeal to me was that it was presented in a 'telling' rather than 'showing' fashion. Therefore, it didn't engage me. Not only that, but the characters fell flat. The main characters' relationship didn't produce any sizzle or sparks. Plus, I got rather confused. Kane (hero) is Sydney's (heroine) brother's best friend, but the story made it seem like they didn't know each other well; yet, there were moments where the author made it seem like they did. We never really get in depth in regards to their history. I guess what I am trying to say is that there were inconsistencies in the story and not only that, but there were random scenes thrown in that just didn't make sense. One example is during Sydney's mom's birthday where a strange evil man (Ethan & Sydney's father) shows up out of nowhere demanding to get Sydney. I was just left scratching my head after the scene & asking myself, "WTF just happened?" The "suspense" in this book was pretty much a joke.
Not only that, but the dialogue felt forced, stilted and awkward in some instances. I felt like I was watching a cheesy soap opera drama. Then there were the secondary characters, Chase and Jessica, who got thrown into the story without any introductions of who they were. It came later on where I learned that Chase was a friend of Ethan & Kane and Jessica was Sydney's friend. However, there was still no background info on them. Another issue I had was the use of constant time stamps (i.e. two weeks later, one month later, early Friday morning, Friday night, etc). It was just really unnecessary and made the story choppy.
Overall, I pushed myself to finish this book, but these issues stopped me from reading further. At least the ebook didn't have glaring editing, grammatical or formatting issues so I'll leave my review on that note.
Star Ratings: Heroine (Sydney): 3/5 – to be perfectly honest I don’t know how the H put up with her as she was so naïve and stupid Hero (Kane): 5/5 – he was awesome! Plot: 3/5 Grovel: none Cheating: none HEA: yes – love babies and the epilogue was 15 years later which was great Triggers: h was attacked and almost raped
Average score: 3.5/5 – stars deducted due to speed/pace and sheer stupidity at times
Best Line: h: “It’s sad when a woman is afraid to eat in front of a man.” I am definitely more…
Worst Lines: h: “I’m a fragile doll compared to his strength.” - I don’t know why but this like really irked me!
h about her friend: “She was raped. Every guy who sees her dressed like that won’t be able to keep his hands to himself.” – because men have no self-control?!
h’s mother: “I was walking home from work and this guy lured me into this house. I just moved to the city, and I was a country girl and where I grew up, I trusted everyone. He invited me in, and I thought why not?”
NEVER HEARD OF STRANGER DANGER?????!!!! The stupidity…
Personal Review: This romance seriously chucks you in from the get-go. I was slightly confused at the way things/people were introduced but I was happy to go with it. This book was so fast-paced that it was drama after drama after drama….
Random Ramblings: •I almost cried when Ethan got his mum a horse, it was so thoughtful •How many times did the h fall? Too many to count, she was so clumsy •Arabella and Carter made me cry
Overall Feeling: This was a very sweet romance…perhaps sickly sweet
Sydney never really dated, she saw no need to because she figured when she met the one she would know. While out shopping though she finds herself being attacked and when her brothers best friend Kane rescues her, she knows she has met the one. Kane will do anything to keep Sydney safe from a threat that keeps coming, he is building a life he never had and he knows Sydney is everything he ever dreamed of having.
This was good but it did have a couple head scratching moments that made me wonder. I liked it though and if you are looking for a insta love, alpha male type book to just put your feet up with this is it. Kane is fantastic and matches Sydney perfectly.
Reread: 2nd time around was great. Loved it. Love that they are together the whole story. Om drama in the form of a stalker. Safety: Talk of rape of the heroine of the next story. Not too descriptive. Great read.

A brothers best friend where the brother wasn't a huge douche about them dating!!
I am in loveee with this book!!
Sydney is living life enjoying it until she is cornered and someone tries to kidnap her she fights back and escapes and runs into Kane who protects her from the guy who tries to kidnap her. From there on the spark is lit lol the teasing, the banter and heart eyes start and even if Kane has a dark past he doesn't let it get to him and he doesn't push Sydney away.
But that's not all we have few amazing side characters that enter like Brea and her Brother Ethan who have their story and more drama inside this story.. We also have few surprises lets just say Kane and Sydney are amazing people!!
Why not a higher score?? I was eh with all the time skips.. we didnt need so many.. 🤷♀️
Low angst, No ow drama but om drama, no cheating, Sexy times, drama, virgin gal no manwhore guy
Recommend- maybe Cover-⭐⭐⭐

This book was a wonderful journey! From the moment Sydney met Kane, we are introduced to their beautiful insta-love-but filled with minor mishaps-story. This is the first time I am reading LeAnn, and I was pleasantly surprised by how smoothly it flowed and how well written it was. I did find it strange each character had to go through trials and tribulations to estabilish themself and despite that, it kept me hooked- but they all could have been tortured less(loads of minor angst). The main couple stayed happily together throughout the book, and I adored Arabella! Even the secondary characters were fun to read about. Overall, throughly enjoyed it. Safe read. 4/5
My first book by this author and I really enjoyed it. Sydney is attacked in the parking lot of the mall and Kane saves her. Kane pretty much sticks close by her after that, despite what her brother, his good friend says. Quite a bit happens in this book, we get to find out more about her and her brothers dad (which is kinda scary), her best friend that went missing a few years back (also scary) and surprise family members of his. There was a lot going on in this book, it was pretty busy. I really liked the couples relationship, they pretty much are never separated after her attack and are in total sync with each other. Not sure Sydney always listened the best, but unfortunately that is a hard lesson learned. I would have liked to have a little bit more of Kane’s thoughts, because he was just a really great guy.
Safe read, no om or ow drama, outside of the stalker and attack, but that doesn’t count in my opinion, cray cray is null and void in my world. A lot of story drama and suspense. At times there may have been a bit too much going on, but most of it raps up at the end. Sweet alpha with a romantic side and his coveted virgin with a heart of gold. Insta-family, baby batter, epilogues and hea.
This didn't work for me. The characters felt childish and ridiculous. The storyline had potential but the writing felt stilted and if I had been a teenager I'd have maybe liked it more but it just seemed rushed. Not for me. 2.5 ⭐.
TW: rape, sexual assault, stalking, women being drugged and raped, assault
What the hell did I just read? I gave it 2 stars only because I liked the story line and plot but it just wasn't executed well. The writing is very choppy and stilted and I wish there was more dialogue. There were a lot of things that bothered me. No one in this book worked! Not one person ever went to work. It's mentioned briefly that Sydney is an indie author but no elaboration. The only thing said about Kane is that he's extremely wealthy and owns multiple businesses. That's it. I have no idea where he got the money to open these businesses or what he does to keep these very successful businesses running. No clue as to what the secondary characters do for a living either. There was absolutely no build up to the relationship. They meet, don't see each other for a month, see each other again and suddenly they're in love. I don't really like a whole lot of angst in books, I prefer insta love, but there needs to be some build up. I'm not even going to go into the multitude of stalkers and kidnappers and attackers. It bordered on ridiculous. All that being said, I'm not sure if I'll read the next book or not. I kind of want to know the other couples' stories. The author does have talent, here's hoping she can hone it.
In this case Stocker crazy is referring to the villain of this book. This story starts off really good with drama right away and I thought it would be none stop action and sex. But no it was all keeping it zipped and adopting kids with an accidental pregnancy. I wouldn't say it was bad but the writing style was immature and it did not flow well. We are here and there without getting here or there the have this and take without picking anything up. Just things like that. No continuation from one subject to another and I don't like she style. So I will not be reading her again. It's not a bad book but I was so confused most of the story, I felt like something was missing. I have a headache now. This story is giving birth to a new book shelf "Not for me personally."
Kane was gone for Sydney the moment he saves her. But he’s not the only one that wants her.
Safe read H sweet and totally devoted to the h. Protective h virgin No talk of H past No ow drama Om drama (h has a stalker. She’s never been with him) Epilogues 6 months and 15 years
The only thing that disappointed me was that there are no other books from her yet!! I need more!! Loved this big so much! Made me laugh and cry. So many parts I was reading with a smile on my face.
I always thought soulmates were an illusion dreamed up in fairytales until Kane. He stormed in during the scariest moment of my life, and even though he fights his own demons, he fights harder for me. Together, we have an unbreakable bond.
Kane
I’m ruthless, especially when it comes to Sydney. She has a stalker, and he’s brought company. Sydney is MINE, and I will do whatever it takes to keep her safe. But, when we’re hit with a surprise, our lives are changed forever…
Definitely not for me, I loved the idea of the storyline but I found I couldn’t get invested in the characters. It felt as though too much happened that didn’t need to. It was confusing and at times completely unbelievable at times.
I didn’t enjoy the writing style at all and I no I won’t bother with the rest of the series.
The book shows promise and potential. Unfortunately, it still has a ways to go before it gets to "good". Nothing makes sense in this book! Sydney, her mother, and Brae are all super model beautiful inward and outwardly- no wait, Brae is beyond super model looks. The men, Ethan, Kane, and the rest, are all ripped and tatted hunks who look like badasses, but are sensitive "whipped" (Sydney's word) marshmallows with their women. When a suspenseful action scene (I use this term loosely) occurs, they just seem to come out of nowhere, and I'm left trying to understand why. It doesn't usually make a lot of sense, from a feasible or logical stand point. An evil villain appears at the 38% mark, and it...just makes zero sense. Why does the guy choose this instance, when he's alone and outnumbered by huge, ripped badass guys, to out himself and his intentions? He just sort of waves his hands and lets it be known: "hey I'm the bad guy, and I'm super evil! I plan to do more, so please arrest me." And YES, it IS that bad. Truly. Each main female character has been kidnapped and attacked at some point in this story. Yes, each of them. Here's one gem of an explanation: “I was walking home from work and this guy lured me into this house. I just moved to the city, and I was a country girl and where I grew up, I trusted everyone. He invited me in, and I thought why not?” Why not, indeed. I'm pretty sure my five year old niece could explain that one. But maybe she didn't have "Stranger Danger" in school - how is a grown woman all alone to know? The sex/not yet sex between Sydney and Kane is...confusing. I got lost where they were at; they've been naked together, but not actually done the deed...but did everything else...I don't know. It's not very interesting, or well done. I'm DNFing at 50%. I don't usually leave a rating when I DNF, but seriously...I read enough. The issues are vast and numerous.
i was one of the chosen ones who got to read this amazing story before release there was so many things i loved about protecting his forever the characters are a main part of what i loved about it i want Sydney to be my bff :) shes hilarious , has a back bone ,goes for what she wants ,has a beautiful heart, very protective of her family and friends what more could you ask for for a female lead <3 know lets talk about mr hot stuff i mean kane ;) the way leann describes him total lady boner i wanted to jump him but alas he only has eyes for syd plus i think shed totally kill me witch would suck lol enough talk about how jelly i am lets get back to kane mmmmmm ok hes very alpha, also freckling hilarious , very protective of whats his , treats his woman write and the man knows how to spank ;) he was the perfect male lead <3 them as a couple wow the banter between them had me dying and the sexy times were super hot i had to reread a couple scenes what they were hot :p had really good chemistry they were also so loving to one another that showed they respected one another i couldnt keep the silly grin off my face :)the side characters were just as good i cant wait for there books <3 i know this wont be my last read from leAnn im officially hooked her story is very unique i never like reading the same thing over and over again so this was a breath of fresh air when this comes out i know im getting this in paperback i always like getting books that have touched me and man has this book touched me not in a dirty way you perv well maybe alittle :P so what you need to do is write when this comes out one click this baby you wont regret it <3
.3.75 Stars I liked this story but it had a lot going on considering it is a short story. Just as I had got my head around the stalking situation and them becoming guardians to a three year old, the story jumped. It jumped to a whole new set of situations to get my head around. I really like Kane and Sydney as a couple; I would have liked a tiny bit more depth to their relationship though. I liked watching them overcome their new titles as parents to Arabella. I liked how caring Sydney was. She could have easily turned Carter away but she didn’t, she welcomed him with open arms. Overall I liked the hero and heroine. I liked the secondary characters and am intrigued to know more about them. I couldn’t help but laugh at the scene when Carter took the cat to school and his reasons for it. Although the story jumps in places, this book is easy to follow and an enjoyable read.
When Sydney is followed whilst shopping, she phones her brother Ethan for help. When she leaves the shop and tries to out run her stalker, things get violent. Managing to escape, she literally runs into Kane, her brother’s best friend. Despite being scared about her stalker situation, Kane and Sydney become close. There is something about Sydney that calls to Kane and sooths him. When he finally asks her on a date, things soon move fast. Sydney and Kane soon become inseparable but along they way they have their hurdles. Hurdles in the form of stalkers, a violent father, abused kids and a surprise pregnancy. Will Sydney and Kane ever be free of danger? Will they get their happily ever after?
DNF'd around 30%. I'm giving it 3 stars though because it had tons of potential. With a good editor it could be really great. In fact the first chapter was great. I might even give other books by this author in the future a try. This is the authors debut novel. I was going to keep going with the story since I did like what the author was going for but then I got to this part that just rubbed me the wrong way and it pushed me into DNF'ing Here is that part
Even though this one didn't work for me, it might others. I look forward to seeing what other books this author does in the future as I'm sure they are going to greatly improve and there are great ideas there.
Wow LeAnn, what a journey. From page 1, I feel in love with Sydney; she experiences something traumatic which introduces her to someone who will change her life. Kane, that sexy protective alpha man, who is so wonderful, & that man is HOT in the bedroom. He appears to have a fondness for his woman's behind. I loved their banter back and fourth. I admit, this book is so much more than I expected, you get to experience so much with these characters & you will feel for them. The suspense was incredible, you know there is someone, but can never figure it out. All characters, I can guarantee you will love, there are especially two, Arabella & Carter, who will just take over your heart. And the epilogue, I do love me a great epilogue, especially one set years in the future, genius. I was so sad when I ran out of pages, I just wanted to keep experiencing life with this family. LeAnn, I look forward to every single book in this series & anything else you write. Thank you for letting me read this. I loved this one. 5+ stars.
Given that it's the author's first book, it was a really good read. The premise was one of my favorites, and the characters were amazing, the problem is that at some point it all became too much, everything bad that could happen to MCs was happening, and it was far too much for one book. A clear case of 'less would be more', which damaged the great time I was having, because it became some of a mess, even with things that didn't match and add up within the story. Don't let this dissuade you in any way, because the author has an huge potential, and, IMO, this was just a reflection of the fact that it's her first book, and I'm sure it will be improved in her next book. It really had all the elements I look for in my reads, and her writing style has so much potential, I can't wait to read her next book! ;)
This was definitely an interesting read with a lot going on within the story, but overall I really liked what I was reading. The two main characters definitely had some serious chemistry, and there was something about them that couldn't be denied. That connection continued throughout the entire book, and I definitely enjoyed getting to experience that.
This book definitely had many twists and turns to it, and along the way I loved getting to know all the different characters. What Kane and Sydney share is definitely heated and meaningful, and I really enjoyed getting to see how it all turned out for them. I would definitely love to read more on all of these characters and they definitely have some good stories to tell. This author definitely hooked me into it all while reading, and I truly could not get enough.
