The directive had been clear: Deeply embed himself in the fair town of Paradise, Tennessee, and keep one Melody Song Reardon from forgiving her fornicating ex-fiancé and keep her safe by any means necessary.

Fortunately, Retired First Sergeant Callum Valentine had always been a man that got the job done. Unfortunately, nobody told him that while his ‘job’ might be as pretty as a picture, she could be ornery as a wet cat and had a stubborn streak a mile long. Now, he was battling baristas and dodging would-be assassins in an effort to keep one sultry southern minx safe.

He’d thought the Taliban would be the most dangerous force he ever face. Imagine his surprise when he realized that the radical extremists had nothing on one curvy little woman with a wicked edge to her tongue…. a woman that had somehow tangled herself around his cold heart.

*~*

Melody Song Reardon was done with men. After learning that the man she’d been going to marry was no better than a corporate Casanova in and out of the boardroom and bedroom, she’d decided that love just wasn’t in the cards for her.

Which was fine.

She was young, smart, and capable… and better yet, she had a dream and a plan: Opening her very own book/yarn store – Hooks & Books. She had the brains. She had the building. And now, she had a freaking bodyguard compliments of her interfering older brother?

She didn’t care how mouthwateringly handsome her so-called savior was; she didn’t need another controlling man in her life telling her what to do. At least, she hadn’t needed one…. until those nerve wracking hang-ups and strange notes took an ominous turn. Now, somebody wants her dead and the only thing standing between her and the Grim Reaper is one seriously gorgeous man named Callum Valentine.

Falling in love again in the middle of her own personal apocalypse hadn’t been the plans…then again, the great thing about a plan is that it can change on a dime!

This book was an utterly complete disappointment for me. What started out promising soon sunk faster then the Titanic!!

description

I don't even know where to begin with this review. The first 20% of this book was good. I loved Cal and Melody wasn't as annoying as some of the other heroines by this author. The one liners they were trading where hilarious. Then...nothing happened for basically the whole of the book. We don't even get sexy times until 85% into the damn book! Maybe had there been some over the top sexual tension it wouldn't have been so bad, but nope, just BORING BORING BORING. The Christmas scene was especially LONG and, you guessed it, BORING.

I enjoyed Cal for the most part, he was on board the insta-love train basically from the beginning, why I have no clue since Melody was basically TO STUPID TO LIVE, and a bitch, and super annoying. At the beginning of the book we get exhaustive inner dialogue from Melody about what a cheating two faced, compulsive liar her ex is. Yet she doesn't think he could be the one that is harassing her with hang up phone calls (which she tells no one about), or leaving her threatening letters (which again she tells no one about) Even after to confronts her and wants her back, and threatens her over the phone. She eats cookies that her ex's parents send her without checking they have peanuts in them, and of course they do, and of course she is deathly allergic to them!! This chick deserved to die, and quite frankly I wonder how she survived to reach the age of 30. *lol* Don't even get me started that at 85% she throws out the "let's be fuck buddies!" That far into the book I should be feeling the relationship, again nope. I was just feeling bored.

description

That brings us to the ending. OMG, who the baddies turn out to be, and the reason WHY they wanted Melody dead is so frigging idiotic, that I am pretty sure my head exploded! SO SO disappointed in this one.

description

Side Note: On a positive note, the ONE sex scene was very HOT (I apologize if there was more then one. I don't think there was, but I did skim a lot after 85%) I am also intrigued by Austin. I'm not sure it is enough for me to give this author another go, but we'll see.

I love the men from Paradise and Cal Valentine did not disappoint. He is alpha swooniness (not a word but it should be) at its best. Melody cracked me up in usual Sarah O'Rourke fashion but was a tough nut. Luckily, Cal new what he wanted and aimed to get it. Loved catching up with the McKinnon sisters and eagerly awaiting my next dose of Paradise.

Favorite Quotes:

“The position in which she'd found her ex-fiance screwing her matron of honor while desecrating her flawless polished antique mahogany dining room table wasn't even listed in the Kama Sutra. She'd checked. Twice.”

“Damn, but this man was positively edible. And let's face it... she'd been on a rather restrictive diet for the last several years.”

“It's not really Brad that I miss; it's being part of a couple, you know. I liked being part of a team of two with somebody. Then, I found out that Brad was adding players to our team without my knowledge.”

“For God's sake, you've been between the legs of more women than my gynecologist has, Brad, and he's been practicing for twenty years!”

“I'm gonna do you a favor and warn you now that crazy breeds in this town faster than roofied rabbits. Don't let the insanity suck you under, too.”

“Jim, Jack, and their immigrant friend Jose Cuervo, speak my language and Jose gets downright chatty after the third shot,”

“See, I'm what happens when God gives with both of His hands.”

“First, I'm not your boyfriend. Boyfriends are for seventeen year olds going to prom. I'm your man. There is a distinct difference.”

My Review:

I make no apologies for my long-standing love affair with Sarah O'Rourke. I adore her ribald humor, raucous and quirky characters, and sassy and brassy style. She has more than mastered the feisty heroine as well as atomically steamy sensual scenes and bawdy talk. Her characters verbally spar like prize fighters and the invectives and profanity fly freely throughout. Her male characters as typically unbearably alpha, and Cal is no exception – I want a Callum Valentine of my own! Add in some mystery and intrigue for our arguing couple to deal with and you have an even more entertaining and engrossing read. And of course, Aunt Orla never fails to incite a near riot. I am ready for a return trip to Paradise anytime Sarah.

Melody Song Reardon is not a gambler—she’s never been one for a risky investment. But now she’s having a panic attack. She’s sunk her life savings and her inheritance from her grandmother’s estate into opening a new business—a book and yarn store—Hooks & Books. Melody needs this, needs to make something for herself and only herself since she’s dumped her philandering ex-fiancé. But in addition to Melody being scared of failure, someone is out to scare her on purpose. She’s receiving hang-up calls and strange notes. And to her benefit—well, don’t tell him she said so—Melody is now under guard by one hot and sexy retired Army sergeant, Callum “Cal” Valentine. The “bodyguard” her brother sent to protect her.

Cal Valentine never expected an easy time keeping an eye on his buddy, RJ’s younger sister. But he didn’t expect that Melody’s ridiculously high level of stubbornness and orneriness would be harder to work through than an all-out attack by the Taliban. She has no idea the level of danger she’s in and Cal is at war with her to protect her—but she sees him as another controlling male. She just got rid of one, why would she hitch her wagon to another?

But her lady bits and her heart don’t necessarily agree with her head. And Cal is determined win her over and prove that her gut instincts are just fine—and that she can fall in love for real…with him.

Ms. O’Rourke, you have me hook, line and sinker with this crew from Paradise. I LOVED both Melody and Cal. Melody cracked me up with her snarky one-liners and her ability to keep Cal in line and on his toes. And Cal…*swoon*… who wouldn’t want a man like him looking after you? I loved their interactions and, even when Melody just wasn’t willing to admit she wasn’t on the same page he was, he never gave up. I loved catching up with the McKinnon sisters and their men, too. Hmm, I just might have to pack up and move to Paradise myself. ~ Missy, 4.5 stars

I am done with this, I just couldn't carry on.

We hit the first bump in the road when she wouldn't shut the fuck up about her prick faced ex. OKKKKKAAAAAAYYYYY we get it, he CHEATED. He's a DICK. Shut up about it already!

description

The second little bump we hit: possibly a bird, or maybe a badger; was when we met the friend. Who then started going on about all the other friends. They were completely new characters yet we were supposed to know all about them. Maybe they're from different books? Come on, I need context!

The THIRD bump: now we've already hit a couple of bumps, so the car is starting to get a little slower by this point, we're unhappy chappies in the passenger seats; was when the ex turned up at the house. Jesus Christ can that man talk!!!!!!!!!! Just leave MAN! This author could make a scene last for daaaays. I DON'T CARE ANYMORE.
'Take me back darling!!!' 'NO' 'Please take me back!' 'NO' 'But I made a mistake!' 'A MISTAKE? NO' 'Please take me back?' 'NO' Yadayadayada you get the picture.

description

The FOURTH bump: at this point, the car is near enough dead may I add; was when she kept telling Callum not to say things out loud. He'd be a little rude and suggestive, and she'd be boringly prude-like, it got old fast. 'Oh my god he did not say that out loud!!', yeah honey, he did. Get the fuck over it.

description

The fifth bump: by this point, I'm getting bored of the fucking car/bump analogy shit. She keeps saying to Callum, 'THIS IS NEVER GOING TO HAPPEN', yet simultaneously letting him lick her pussy and live with her. Hello??????????

description

This story just bored me to tears with the overly descriptive writing, the longer than need-be scenes, and the annoying characters. It had potential but, not for me this one sorry.

The H, Cal is what made this story for me. He was so loyal and so amazing. There was so much sexual attraction right from the start but we still had to wait way too freaking long for them to finally hook up. At one point she let him go down on her and that scene was hot as hell but then she went back to keeping at him a distance?? Not realistic in the slightest.

Melody had been totally blindsided by finding out her fiancé, who'd she'd been with for 5 years, has been sleeping with half the town but her inner dialogue states repeatedly that she never even a fraction of the sexual desire for her fiancé that she did with Cal. So it just made no sense that she would turn away from that. I can personally speak from experience that when you've been with someone where there's no spark and then you experience for the first time what that spark feels like, you explore that shit like a fat kid in Willy Wonka's Chocolate Factory.

I have to say as far as the "mystery" about who was calling her and sending those notes it was all pretty DUH by about 50% or whenever the Christmas part was so that sort of a bust. And for all the drawing out and attention to detail that was given to the interactions between our two main characters (which was good, mind you; I love how they interacted with each other and it set a good foundation for a believable long lasting relationship) I felt like the end was rushed and bordering on silly. Add in Melody's infuriating and completely uncalled for stubbornness and you get a solid 3 star read.

This was my first read by this author and it definitely won't be my last. I loved Callum SO much. I just hope the heroines in her other books aren't so unnecessarily stubborn and annoying. I really hate that :/

3.5-4 Stars!!

“Are you asking me if I’ve got a tiny dick, Princess? Because I can tell you with a hundred percent honestly that the size of my cock and the size of my truck are very directly related. They’re both big and bad,….”

This was Laugh Out Loud Funny, a romance about to people who deserve it the most.

“NO! You can’t. For God’s sake, you’ve been between the legs of more women than my gynecologist has”

No Love Triangles, No Cheating, Very Low Angst, Drama!! *Tick, Tick Tick*

Callum, He’s really just a big ol teddy bear, Alpha Yes.
But underneath it all this 42 year old know what he wants, and he wants Melody!!

Melody, she has recently escaped a crappy relationship, trying to sort her life out on her own. I found her kind of annoying at times.

Together, there banter was on point. There chemistry was great.
I really Loved Cal a lot so I was rooting for him all the way.
I Just had mix feelings towards Melody.

“You know, Santa might see you when you’re sleeping and knows when you’re awake, but he also know when you are horny and aware when you just turned on, so please don’t bother lying cause you know that wrong, wrong, wrong”

I enjoyed this, but I didn’t love it. I was expecting to like it a lot more then what I did.
Aggravating at times.
Hilarious at times
Sexy, Light Hearted Comedy Romance!!

“I hate to tell you this, Cal, but your banana looks to be a weapon of mass pussy destruction.”

What a fab read, two engaging lead characters - loved it ❤️

Callum meets melody while grabbing some coffee, he doesn't make the best impression even if he did have good intentions. Callum has recently left the army and is hoping to make some roots in a small town where an army mate resides. Luckily said friend has let him bunk at his house.

Melody has escaped a bad relationship that held her back and made her feel inferior, to top it off he was cheating on her with too many women to count. She needs to get her life back on track so has returned to the house her grandma has left her and starts making plans for a new business.

Callum has another big surprise for Melody (I'm not talking anatomy here, but that is impressive too apparently!), she won't like it, she didn't like him buying her a coffee.

Melody and Cal are fiery and funny together, Cal is there to help her get her business up and running, they get closer slowly - melody tries to deny it all but eventually she decides there's something there - Cal is persistence in his wooing of her.

There are many funny passages this book, they have some really amusing conversations and some extremely deep and moving.

Callum being military is very bossy at times but only for Melody's safety - someone is threatening 'his' Melody! He's really soft and romantic on the inside and the outside is made for sin - even at the young age of 42 his a sight for sore eyes.

The book is set in Paradise a small town with familiar characters if you've read others in series, if you haven't no worries it works perfectly as a stand-alone.

There seem to be a couple more stories set up in this book which I look forward to reading.

The writing and story flow effortlessly and pull you into this dreamy small American town.

** Five-star read **

I received an arc for an arc for an honest review

Three stars ONLY for the hero. Cal was completely awesome in every way.
Note to authors; do not add a dog character to a book if you are going to completely forget he exists at the 30% mark. Never a single mention again. Drives me crazy.
This book could have really been something especially sweet if plot issues would have been dealt with.

“I was brought up believing that a girl should be able to take care of herself. I forgot that lesson for a little while and almost made a mistake I could never undo with a man I’d rather forget.”

Thirty-year-old Melody Song Reardon is starting over. After walking in on her ex-fiancé, days before their wedding, having sex with her best friend and their maid of honor, she broke the engagement, left him and headed back home to Paradise, TN. She moved into her granny’s house, and she took an enormous, out-of-character risk by sinking her life savings and the proceeds of her inheritance from her granny’s estate into a start up business. A tiny powerhouse of a woman, she is fiercely determined (and slightly panicking) to make her new store a huge success.

“Get ready, Melody …. I’m coming for you, Princess.”

Callum Valentine, a recently retired twenty-year Army veteran, agreed to do a favor for a friend, one of his soldiers and Melody’s older brother, RJ. He moved to Paradise, and right into “RJ’s half” of Melody’s home to be her shadow and to have her back while she was dealing with her annoying ex-fiancé, Brad, who is just not taking no for an answer. Abandoned as an infant, Cal grew up a ward of the state in various boys’ and foster homes. He’s never had a family, and no woman has ever caught his attention like Melody has. He can see it all with her, he knows that she is meant to be his, and he’s not about to back down from this battle.

“I was put here to be yours, and you were meant to be mine.”

Cal was smitten with Melody the minute RJ showed him her picture. But being in her presence, living with her and getting to know her, those feelings only intensify and further convince him that they’re meant to be, now if he could only get Mel to admit it, too. While he may be confident in his feelings and knows what he wants, Melody is unsure. She’s fresh off a broken engagement to a man that cheated on her repeatedly and flagrantly for the entirety of their five-year relationship. Her self esteem has taken a hit, and she questions her judgement when it comes to men. Not willing to be made the fool again, she’s decided that love isn’t for her, and besides, she needs to focus her energy and attention on opening her store, not a relationship with Cal, or at least that’s what she’s telling herself.

“She’d been keeping secrets from him…”

Brad isn’t going down without a fight, though. He keeps popping up in Melody’s life, and despite her unwavering, crystal clear refusals of his reconciliation attempts, he’s just not getting the message. Meanwhile, Melody is getting hang-up phone calls and someone is leaving creepy notes for her, notes that she’s dismissing as idle threats, and instead of cluing Cal in to these threats, she’s choosing to ignore them. Not exactly a wise decision on her part as it turns out…

“Don’t let my stubbornness and stupidity ruin us now that I’ve finally gotten my head out of my a$$.”

Cal continues his steady and patient pursuit of Melody, he’s just waiting for her to catch up with him and with what he knows she’s also feeling. But stubborn is her middle name, and she’s not giving in that quickly or easily. Before she can measure her words, she hurts Cal, and the kicker is that she totally didn’t mean the garbage she spewed at him. To make matters worse, it’s looking like it isn’t Brad who’s trying to hurt Melody, although he hasn’t given up his attempts to win her back. Is this the straw that breaks the camel’s back? Has Melody’s callous words hurt Cal enough to push him away for good? Will Brad finally give up trying to get her back? And just who, exactly, is behind all these attacks and threats against her?

“For always and ever, babe. That’s just the way it is. It’s the price you pay for tangling your heart with mine.”

I love the ever-talented writing duo, Sarah O’Rourke. The Passion in Paradise series is one of my favorites, and I’ve been Facebook stalking them since I read Cain’s Salvation. This addition to the series, while it doesn’t focus directly on a member of the McKinnon clan, is a great addition. I loved Cal, he was a man who knew what he wanted, set it in his sights and didn’t stop until he savored the victory. Melody is no pushover, though, she’s got back-bone! I loved the back-and-forth banter between these two! This is a steamy, small town romance series with a great dose of southern humor, and I absolutely loved it!

Five hilarious, heated, happily-ever-after smooches for Sarah O’Rourke’s Tangled Hearts from me!

Tangled Hearts offers up yet another delicious dose of the calamitous and riotous lives of the folks from Paradise. A mixture of Southern charm and witty scathing insults, sass and suspense, Tangled involves the unlikely pairing of unlucky in love Melody and retired army sergeant Callum Valentine. There is a bit of a hidden agenda as to why the tall, sexy military man is in Paradise in the first place and at the centre of that little secret is the spunky and intelligent Melody.

'"Seriously, Harmony, I don't think my brother sent Callum Valentine here to help me. I think it's all some kind of plot to drive me crazy and have me institutionalised," she shared to one of the few girlfriends she's reconnected with since coming back to Paradise. Since Harmony had her own alpha male at home to contend with, she knew the other woman got where she was coming from now. "I swear to God that man is going to drive me certifiably insane."'

After having read all of Sarah's previous Paradise books and loving them, it's a joy to see that incredible dialogue, entertaining interaction and sparkling characterisation emitting brilliantly off the page and into your heart. And that is exactly where each resident of this boisterous and troublesome little town ends up. They're written and described and brought to life so well, in how they react, how they think, how they banter, that you feel almost regretful to have finished the entire book already. It's a masochistic kind of pleasure with each story. I really thoroughly enjoyed this delightful little romance. Valentine is an alluring mixture of aggravating and hilarious, jovial but serious when it matters. He's charming and understanding and best of all he's an overprotective take no prisoners kind of alpha hero. Melody is independent and ambitious and smart, which is exactly what readers should look for and admire in a heroine. They each bring out the best in one another.
If you're searching for a fun, light-hearted kind of Valentine's Day read, with marvellous characters, comedy and romance, then Tangled Hearts is the book for you. And if you haven't read any of Sarah's incredible Paradise series then I suggest you begin with Cain's Salvation and learn to love long, hard and deep-just like the men of Paradise.

Tangled Hearts by Sarah O’Rourke - 4.5 stars rounded up

I received this book for an honest review by the authors.

If you haven’t read anything by these ladies you are so missing out. The characters crack me up!! I mean they always have the best character banter in their novels. I am literally cracking up at the scenes!!! These ladies are crazy funny!!

This book is about Melody. She found out her DB Fiancée was screwing her best friends/bridesmaids and half the town for the last 5 years. She literally throws the ring and runs to her granny’s house to start her life over. The town is a small town and everyone knows everyone but Melody is ready to start fresh at 30. Melody’s brother RJ is worried because she keeps getting strange hang up calls and her ex Brad has vowed to win her back. He asks his retired army buddy Callum to step in and help his sister out.

The fireworks between the two at their first meeting only get better as each scene goes. Then the 2nd time they have an altercation, I. WAS. LAUGHING so hard at the situation. Cal is essentially laying claim to Melody in front of her ex. Melody is a strong woman who lost her sense of HER while with Brad so having an alpha “MINE” her didn’t go so well. Seriously loved the chemistry.
As the novel goes we see the two forming a “relationship” of sorts. Cal is up front that Mel is the woman for him but she is stubborn and is resisting him at every turn. The Christmas scene they share made my heart tingle for the two but when they took a trip to Nashville….Sigh……Yeah I was in love with Cal too.

The story is about the two of them butting heads but also wondering who is trying to kill Mel. If her ex isn’t, who could be??? It was a great “who done it” and in true fashion when the killer is revealed there is total comedy to it.

Tangled Hearts, Book 5 in the Passion in Paradise series by Sarah O’Rourke, is a must read for the series followers. Tangled Hearts is another great story about Paradise, but if you have not been following the Paradise series that is OK you will enjoy this visit.
Melody Reardon, 29, comes home from Knoxville to start over and get away from her fornicating ex-fiancé. Retired First Sergeant Callum Valentine, 42, has promised his friend RJ, Mel’s brother, to watch out for her and keep her safe by any means necessary, except from him.
Mel thought she was done with men but she keeps wondering, “Gad, how could a middle-aged man look that damned good without a shirt on, she wondered. It wasn’t fair. She wasn’t too many years younger than him, and she already had to worry about wrinkles and cellulite. Sergeant Sexy, however, just seemed to get better with age.”
Cal was surprised that, “He’d thought the Taliban would be the most dangerous force he ever face. Imagine his surprise when he realized that the radical extremists had nothing on one curvy little woman with a wicked edge to her tongue…. a woman that had somehow tangled herself around his cold heart.”
Tangled Hearts can be read as a standalone, but I think you would get more out of the story if you read them all. Sarah O’Rourke gives us a suspense romance with funny, sassy main characters who you want to find their soul mate at last. The storytelling is funny, sharp and attention holding, as the other Books in their series have been. You will love the cast of characters that colorfully make up Paradise. I was given this for a fair review. Give Sarah O’Rourke’s Tangled Hearts a try; I know I can’t wait for the next Passion in Paradise: The Men of the McKinnon Sisters story.

Thanks Sarah O’Rourke & Good Writing

This is the first book that I have read by this author, but it will not be my last. I really enjoyed Tangled Hearts. It has humor, it has a bit of suspense, but in the end, the HEA is wonderful.

The characters are amazing. Melody and Cal are an amazing couple. Melody has left her cheating fiancee. Looking for a fresh start, she moves home and into the home that use to be her grandmothers, the home that she and her brother own together. Thinking that she can get on with her life, open a little shop and make a life for herself away from the cheating bastard. But when he shows up on her front steps, she is dumb struck. Never so glad to see the stranger that helped her fix her tire, the one that is now pretending to be the new man in her life, Callum Valentine.

Cal was in the Army with Melody's brother. He was the man in charge, the man that kept his men safe, and the man that fell in love at first sight with only a picture of Melody. When her brother asks him to help keep her safe, help keep her cheating snake away, Cal knows that he will do anything to help Melody, he would give his life to protect her. He will alway do everything in his power to prove to her that they are meant to be together for a life time.

I laughed my way through most of this book, from drunk 20 questions, to the banter between Melody and her friends. This book was a wonderful read and I am so glad that I had the chance to read it. I look forward to more from this author and give Tangled Hearts 5 sexy stars.

The story has laughs, betrayal, suspense, and heartbreak.

If you have not read the below I would recommend reading those books(s) first
Cain's Salvation (Passion in Paradise: The Men of the McKinnon Sisters, #1)
Hard as Stone (Passion in Paradise: The Men of the McKinnon Sisters, #2)
Ready, Willing and Abel (Passion in Paradise: The Men of the McKinnon Sisters, #3)
The Homespun Holiday (Passion in Paradise: The Men of the McKinnon Sisters #3.5)

This is Melody and Callum’s story. Melody left her fiancé after she caught him with another woman. She is in a new town starting a new company. When she runs into Callum she is attracted but not ready to deal with another man. When he ex shows up in town to win her back Callum steps up and rescues her from him. The more time Callum and Melody spend together the more the sparks fly. Can they keep the relationship on just friendly terms or is Callum out for a forever? Can he convince Melody that he is the one for her while he protects her from the ex? When she gets threats against her she thinks they are pranks but Callum knows better. Can he convince her that she needs his protections before it’s too late to not only save her but to save people of the town? Can these two get their relationship together or is it all over?

I loved these characters and also the side characters. I felt I was able to connect with the characters and the story was a great read.

I highly recommend this book this series and these authors.

Melody Reardon just moved to Paradise after a failed relationship with her cheating bastard of an ex. She's starting a new life and not really looking for complications, specially of the romantic kind.
Callum Valentine just got out of the service and came to Paradise to protect Melody from her ex who doesn't really understand the meaning of no. He's alpha, he's funny, but above all he has his eyes set on Melody and will do anything in his power to protect her and possess her. She has a strong attitude and he has a dirty mouth (of the sexy kind) complementing each other beautifully.
These two characters separate are entertaining and their banter is out of this world, but when they come together they're scorching hot and you can feel the sexual chemistry exude from the pages.

There is a certain scene outside Melody's house that had me laughing until my stomach hurt, it was well choreographed and so on point that it was plain and simple, perfection.

This book has a little bit of everything for everybody, the protective alpha, the strong willed heroine, the very hot sexy times, a bit of mystery, and a lot of tenderness. We also get to see some of the other residents of Paradise and enjoy the incredibly funny stuff that comes out of not only Callum's mouth but also the McKinnon sisters.

If you're looking for a fun, light read, this book is for you. Enjoy getting to know the residents and the craziness that is Paradise, TN.

Another tangled web of passion, comedy, and crime!!

How can you go wrong with all the wild and sassy women in Paradise?  Not to mention the hunky men trying to keep their women from playing hero... This story continues on the trend.  New characters, new problems, and lots of tension.  And now a bit about the story...

After finding out he fiancee was cheating on her, with most of the women of Knoxville, Melody took off for home.  Her parents died earlier in a tragic accident.  Her grandmother has recently passed.  Her bother (RJ) was still deployed to the sandbox.  But she has her grandmother's house left to her and RJ.  Now to start over!! If it wasn't for the crazy calls she was getting she would be doing good.  Her new business was well on its way, there was a new hunk (Cal) sniffing around... When the phone calls turn deadly Cal is determined to protect her, even if it suffocates her!

Favorite passages:
- She was a firecracker of the first degree.  Hot as hell, and explosive as all fuck.
- “They’re both big and bad, but if you don’t believe me, I’d be pleased to give you a private showing.” Melody’s jaw dropped at his audacity.
- “Inside voices are for parents and pussies,” he announced harshly, taking a perverse kind of pleasure in watching the old woman frown at him.
- “Whatever,” he mocked. “I hate that word. It’s the classy woman’s way of saying I-don’t-give-a-flying-fuck,” he complained.

Melody Reardon has sworn off all men. This is after she found out her ex-finance was cheating on her with most of the women in town. She moves back to Paradise, Tennessee where she spent summers with her grandmother. She has a little saved up and wants to open up her own book business. This is all about her and starting over. Little did she know that one morning while getting coffee she would meet the man that both turns her on and angers her at the same time. When she walks out of the coffee shop she discovers she has a flat tire and MR. Know it all tries to help. Things are looking up for her in the little town of Paradise, she finds that her neighbors are friendly because they seem to sneak around and fix little things wrong with the house.

Callum Valentine though no longer in the military had a one mission, protect Melody and make sure her ex didn't bother her. When her ex shows up unannounced it is time to reveal himself completely, as Melody's new boyfriend. What he didn't count on was how much he loved getting her stirred up.

Callum is there to protect her but she feels she doesn't need it, that is until her life is threatened. Can Melody find love again with Callum before someone else wants her dead.

I have read most of the books by Sarah O'Rourke and loved them all. If you are fan of theirs this will definitely not disappoint. I would recommend this book especially if you love Hot Alpha males, feisty women and hot sex scenes!

I highly enjoyed this one. I will warn you if coarse language is just not your thing then this book may not be to your liking. For me it doesn't bother me especially is it fits the characters. Cal has a very dirty mouth, but boy does he know how to use it. Things get very steamy between Cal and Melody. They have chemistry in spades. I really enjoyed the scene where they first met. It had me in stitches. One of the things I enjoyed about the book was the humor that it brought. Cal is swoon worthy book boyfriend material. He has this bad boy alpha attitude, but the feelings and protectiveness he has for Melody just makes a girl swoon. Melody is trying to start over back in her hometown after her crazy ex destroys her future she envisioned. Now she has hot as sin Cal annoying her every turn and her crazy ex popping up trying to win her back. Her plate is full, but on top of that someone is out to end her life. Cal uses the excuse of protecting Melody for her brother's asking, but he has ulterior motives because he envisions her to be his "one". Now he is on a mission to win her heart, but that's a tall order when Melody can't trust her instincts when it comes to the opposite sex. The banter and the back and forth battle of wills between Melody and Cal is just awesome. That alone brought a lot to the book. I really enjoyed the secondary characters as well. A lot of strong female characters which I love to see. I highly recommend this book.

Tangled Hearts was my first Sarah O'Rourke book, but it won't be my last. Now I've got to dive in and catch up on all the Paradise hotties I've been missing out on. *fans self*

Melody was going through an early life crisis, finding her fiancé cheating on her with her so-called best friend. It turns out the scum-bucket was doing more than her BFF and doing it for years. Being the strong heroine Melody is, she picked herself up and moved home to Paradise, TN, where she's bound and determined to turn her life around with a new business venture.

Enter Callum Valentine: built, hot, strong (strung) and dirty talkin'. Cal is newly retired from the Army and is doing his buddy a favor by checking in on his little sister, Melody. Like any Army man, Cal takes his responsibility seriously, and in the process, falls fast and hard for Melody.

Melody is continually shocked by our crass, dirty talkin' hero, but oh, the chemistry. Throw in a an ex-fiancé who just won't take no for an answer and his past scum-bucket lovers, and well, let's just say, it's a wild ride in Paradise.

Ms. O'Rourke has a way with dialogue and witty banter that will keep the pages turning. I truly enjoyed it all and can't thank her enough for gifting me with an ARC in exchange for my honest review.

**ARC provided by Author, in exchange for an honest review**

Tangled Hearts is a riot. Alpha male versus sassy chick. This book is not only hot, but loads of fun. This is my first Sarah O’Rourke book and I cannot wait to read more. I truly enjoyed this super sexy romantic comedy.

 photo TanglesHearts-Teaser.jpg

Callum and Melody love story starts out with their super fun banter at a coffee shop. Which was also my favorite conversation between Cal and Melody. The banter between those two was always wildly entertaining. Even when they fell madly in love with each other, their crazy conversations never stopped. So they definitely kept me hooked on their story and wondered what crazy things they would say next. They were always back and forth and Cal always wants to be the winner, but there are times when Melody doesn’t back down, when there is something she really wanted. I loved how strong both characters are and their super sexy times together. Thx for sharing your book with me Sarah O’Rourke.

I received this book in exchange for an honest review.

I was drawn to this book after reading the synopsis. Melody finally puts on her big girl panties and moves out of her comfort zone – she opens her own store. What she didn’t expect is for her brother to send along someone to watch out for her just because she left her philandering fiancé. Well, it’s a good thing he did because not only does trouble seems to find Melody, but she certainly needs someone to unearth the woman she lost to her ex, Brad.

Enter Cal. He’s alpha. He’s ex-military. He’s crass and has a dirty mouth. And, he wants Melody. The two of them together is a test of wills, a lot of snark, silliness, passion and lust. Cal is often just as hard-headed as Melody, but they pair well together.

The only issue I had with this novel was the redundancy of details in the beginning. I felt as though it made the story long-winded in areas which did not demand it. Once I got past that, the story improved a lot for me. I particularly enjoyed the twists and turns (super turds and sluts make for fun reading). I LOVED the McKinnon sisters and their men, too. Those women are a riot and a handful! I seriously need to get all of their stories.

You’ll get an entertaining and sexy story of second chances to find the life you really want.

5 Stars!

I love these two ladies who make up this author! Each book I have ready by them have been nothing short of perfect with their strong heroines, swoonworthy heroes. They make you believe in love and happy endings. They make you believe in second chances and definitely fate. These ladies are known for their witty banter and sizzling chemistry while providing a meaningful reading experience.

I love this series. The previous books in this series rocked its butt off! Book one hooked me. And book two and then book three had me smiling hard while the Christmas novella got me into the spirit so I knew I was in for a treat for the fourth book in this series. Because this book was full of love, laughter, fun, sweet moments, and will definitely give you tons of those feels along the way.

This is Melody and Callum’s story. From the beginning, sparks fly but the road to a happy ending is challenging. Melody is still trying to move on. Callum is a man who knows what he wants. These two had tons of chemistry. You will laugh, smile, shed a tear, and fall in love along the way. Welcome back to the Passion in Paradise series where we swoon for the men and fall for the ladies.

I highly recommend this book.

This was my absolute favorite Sarah O'Rourke book by far. Callum Valentine is the yummiest manliest alpha male in this series in my opinion and that's saying something. The characters are both very strong willed and sexy as sin. In this book, you will get plenty of sexy, loads of action, and a few batsh*t crazies.

Callum Valentine was sent to Paradise for one purpose, to guard Melody from her crazy ex, Brad. He was a goner from the moment RJ showed him a picture of her. He just didn't know it yet. From the very first encounter, she drove him mad. She is one feisty chic after all. Cal being ex military, he is more than up for the shenanigans but he never realized she would be such a tough cookie fighting him at every turn.

When she finally drops her guard, the two explode in the sheets. Oh my! The sexy times are off the charts. Also, if you know Sarah, you know you will be laughing throughout as well. There was so much I loved about this book that I will just say read it! NOW! You will love it.

We get to see all the characters we know and love throughout the book as well. This was beyond a 5 star read. Absolutely loved it.

Welcome back to Paradise where the men are Super Alpha Male and the women are stubborn, sassy, and smart asses!

Melody just wants to open her store and forget about her cheating ex fiance.

Callum knew from the moment he saw her picture that there was something special about her, so getting asked by her brother to keep an eye on her should be no tough chore. Except the woman he's set his sights on is one of the most stubborn women on the planet and any chance to talk is a chance to have an argument!

Butting heads doesn't even begin to describe these two they both want each other but only Cal is willing to admit it and in Technicolor detail too! ;-)

When Melody's stubborn ex refuses to leave her alone and suddenly strange threats keep cropping up Mel has to decide whether or not to trust the arrogant soldier with her safety....and possibly her heart.

The push-pull between these two eas beyond hilarious I enjoyed watching their banter and seeing what they each would come up with next! There was also plenty of heat between these two keeping the pages plenty stemmed up!

There is literally not one thing I would change about this book. If you haven't read these ladies' Paradise books you are seriously missing out. I mean honestly the women are sassy, sweet and hilarious and the men are all out alpha and this book was no different. I swear every time I read one of these books I think there is no way I am going to love the next more and every single time I am proven wrong. I am quite frankly very in love with Cal and Melody's sassy and fiery attitude is awesome. I always find myself blushing one minute, laughing so hard I'm in tears the next, wondering what in the world is going to happen next, and then I'm "awwwwing" too because it is just that sweet. I don't know how you ladies do it, but please keep it up!! I recommend this book and all the others. If I could give this book more than 5 AMAZEBALLS stars I definitely would! Such a fantastic read!!!

* * ARC given on behalf of obsessed by books for an honest review * *

I loved this book.
Callum is a retired army vet. and is looking for a place to call home, when his buddy offers up his house. Located Tennessee small town Paradise is just what Callum needs plus with an offer of housing you can't go wrong, til his buddy ask him to keep an eye on his sister. Melody is fiery, strong which is great when she has to pick her life up when she catches her boyfriend with her BFF, but apparently she hasn't been the only one. Back home for not even 12 hours she's met a cocky , sexy Callum and has been approached by her ex how much worse can it be. When Melody finds out Callum is staying at her house thanks to her brother she's not sure if she can handle the stranger she can't get out of her head. loved it.

Cute, full of laughs, a little suspense qnd an older alpha guy. Enjoyed the kooky and full of characters town of Paradise. I realized I read this out of order a bit early on but it was fine I think I liked it to go back for the others. Melody a fun, sassy lady and goes what she wants after getting a setback. Cal is her brother's ex boss sent to watch after her. They totally don't get along at first and the banter is entertaining. This book has a KA like feel to it in way just because of the scenario and town focus and of the alpha guy and sassy girl. I had no idea the author is actually two different people I didn't notice it at all. I'll definitely look forward to the next book in the series.

This is yet another winner for me by Sarah O'Rourke! The way they manage to have such an alpha male who is so caring and protective. But by far my favorite is the fact that the women they write are not pushovers. The female characters are just as strong and protective as their males! I very much enjoyed this book. I am and awaiting what comes next. There is always so much happening in the story that keeps you captivated. It is not just a book of sex, or a simple little story. This is a book that takes you on the journey of meeting, learning and being. There is mystery and you just want to scream at your book. Bring on the rest Sarah I am ready!
