Sometimes life is hard, sometimes it’s really hard, and sometimes it’s just unbearable. We want to quit. We want to toss in the towel, raise the white flag, give up. Don’t. Press on. Keep running. Don’t quit. But how? In this book, Mike Dellosso discusses five things you can do right now to keep your feet moving, to steady your resolve, to sure up your foundations. To be unstoppable.
Mike Dellosso is the author of numerous novels of suspense, including Kill Devil, Centralia, Darkness Follows, Darlington Woods, and Scream. Mike is a popular conference and workshop teacher and an adjunct professor of creative writing. He lives in Hanover, PA, with his wife and five daughters. Mike is also a healthcare worker and survivor of colon cancer.
I just read Be Unstoppable and have been mulling it over. It's amazing how the Bible never "gets old" or ceases to be relevant...how specific accounts can be used to speak truth in an endless variety of situations.
Mike did a great job of taking five men of the Bible (who's stories you've heard a thousand times) and weaving them with his own message of encouragement through hard times and adversity.
He uses a little artistic licence to add more details to the Bible stories, but without taking away from them. The added details really help the reader better visualize and place themselves in these men's shoes . . . get a better feeling of what it would have been like to be there. He really brought new life to them for someone (me) who HAS heard them a thousand times.
Mike's own input on Having Perspective, Facing Fears, Failing, Mental Naysayers, & Giving it your All weave seamlessly with the Bible story themes into a great little "one sitting" read to give you that ounce of "can do" you've been needing. (even if you didn't realize you needed it)
You can't read this book and not be encouraged to "push forward" when life pushes you back.
