Plague. Infection. Death. The world we knew is gone, replaced with something infinitely more deadly. Life, the paramount precious commodity is fleeting for Earth’s newest endangered species: Man. Whether death arises from the legions of ravenous undead which now roam the planet, or at the hands of villains unchecked, the result is the same. The finality of death has fled, however, and the Reaper no longer holds his sway. The greatest plague in history alters life itself into something that cannot be, killing the infected, but only briefly. Victims return as one of the undead to seek out that which they once were, infecting and consuming anything alive. But hope, however slim, exists. The promise of a possible vaccine is enough for a rag-tag band of military and civilians to traverse a continent ravaged by the plague. Countless obstacles stand in the way, and merciless enemies, both living and not, will do everything to deny this Crossing.
A surprise turn of events with the most unexpected and unbelievable cause of the plague. Rich Restucci’s manuscripts deserve a broader outreach with vivid characters that test ethical boundaries and incite interesting doubts and questions. No one is immune from the thrill of power and the ruling of a lawless land for which savage criminals turn out to be the most humane while model citizens turn rogue. The second book will leave its reader wanting more and I can’t wait to read the third book.
This episode was really exciting. Tons of danger and not only from the dead. The bad guys are worse than the zombies. I can't wait to read the next one.
As an avid reader of zombie-genre, the same variables inevitably develop most plots. The final stages generally involving survivors fortifying the semblance of either a societal future with remaining characters in the face of lawlessness and the undead or pursuit of a cure. What makes this series different is the basis of the plague itself and added variables of living people both good and evil that are immune, the cause of the actual plague and the subplots that are constantly evolving into a bigger threat than just the undead. Multi-dimensional characters, action, subterfuge and deeply rooted government conspiracy along with zombies that don't always conform to mindless, shuffling cannibals makes this series something I was unable to put down. I'm finding myself in a state of anxious anticipation for future installments and personally thank Restucci for creating this universe where the criminally insane find redemption, the depraved find lower lows of debasement and the honor code of the military are the new factors of humankind. Well done! Hurry up and get to writing.
AMAZING!!!! Like World War Z, but in my opinion, IT'S WAY BETTER!!
I read the first book & bought the 2nd almost immediately because I needed to know what happened next!! So sad, I finished this Book so quickly, because now I'm all antsy in my pantsy, LOL, itching to get the next Book, because I REALLY want to know what happens next with the Survivors, I've come to LOVE! I CAN'T WAIT TO READ THE 3rd BOOK!!! SO AWESOME!!!
It was AWESOME! Except for the characters I was really starting to like died. That really sucked. And Billy. I miss Billy. This book was worth the wait. And now I realize that I have to wait for the third book. That sucks. Great job Mr. Restucci. You don't suck. Except for making me wait for the third book. That kind of sucks.
So not only do I have Billy to look forward to, but hopefully more Dallas as well. Oh and let's not forget Bob! Anna is my new hero though!! The cause for the plague is a new concept and I'm absolutely longing to read what comes next! Impatiently waiting!!!
