I love Charlotte Stein and I particularly love Charlotte Stein when she's writing short, extremely hot, erotic stories. The immersive, highly descriptive nature of her storytelling works best in these short vignettes (not that she hasn't written some great long length (heh) erotica as well). This was a very strong collection, even the weaker stories aren't all that weak. The collection is diverse and engaging and sexy as all get out and thus exactly what one hopes for when buying erotica.

A short story collection that gave a good taste of what it’s like to read Charlotte Stein, but doesn’t quite capture the experience of one of her fuller stories where she really gets to delve into her juicy flawed characters.

I don’t love her short stories so much because it’s a lot more getting to sex than getting to love, and it’s the getting to love part of romance – erotic or not – that captures my attention as a reader.

This was better than I expected, with different themes and written well. There was only one I didn’t care for as much, but they’re so short it goes by fast to get to the next one!

I like several of Charlotte Stein's books and her writing style but I only liked some of the short stories in this collection; most I ended up skimming through.

So good! I wish I could get the characters just a bit more, but I guess that is the nature of short stories ❤️

These are some crazy short, little sexy stories. Probably no more than 30 pages each. Some of them involve some serious kink, most of which don't do much for me. But even so, they were still pretty interesting. And this author does more than smut, she tries to add some philosophical or emotional twist to each story.

You Already Know - About a store clerk who ends up in a sexual relationship with a bruiser of a guy who she catches beating up one of the employees. Mismatched, but she can’t help falling in love with him - but he already knows.

Four for the Seesaw - A somewhat angsty story about a couple who end up swapping each other with another couple, thinking the grass is greener on the other side. They discover that it’s better when they’re together. (This one definitely works with the notion that you can love someone and still enjoy sex with someone else and had me wanting another page or two to know that they’d found an HEA or something).

I Have You - A sort of sad, but hopeful story about a couple, particularly the woman, healing and rediscovering each other after the death of their daughter.

Don’t I - Not my favorite, but this one’s about a woman who had to prostitute herself just once for a mortage and with her new client discovered she has a taste for domination and humiliating men.

Heavenly Shades - This is so not a happy story. It’s about a woman who is found and trapped by a vampire who comes to her repeatedly to feed from her. She decides to seduce him with unexpected (and confusing at least for me) results.

I Am - Short and really not much happening, but it’s about a couple who try some sort of abstinence thing to prep themselves for a D/S relationship.

New Dress - One flatmate accidentally discovers the masochistic desires of the other and explores her sadistic side, likening it to a new dress.

Dancing on the Edge - About a woman whose co-worker propositions her while they’re at the bar and after some really hot sex realizes that she hadn’t realized he’d been flirting with her for months.

Heat - Two people on a yacht. The woman’s POV about a super sexy guy coming onto her and having sex with her and believing it’s out of contempt, when it isn’t.

Thief - A woman develops a weekly habit of watching her flatmate masturbate before she finally gets caught and then realizes it's more fun to participate.

Oppositeland - About a woman who gives her husband the domination he wants and needs - likened to oppositeland because she fucks him.

Falling - Lydia believes she’s about to become a fallen woman, becoming Harrow’s mistress, but realizes she’s fallen in a different way - in love.

I think I've never encountered an erotica book that is so well written, emotional and if you remove the erotica/sexual content the story still hold together not just some thin layer pretending to resemble something worth reading. and this is just a compilation of short stories! every one of them is an enjoyable little treats but I was awestruck particularly with 'I Have You' so much power for Charlotte Stein for being able to wrote about grief and letting go coalescing with scorching hot scenes. another fav is 'Four For The Seesaw'. my fav line from this story that was so beautiful I nearly cried while finishing it;
'And I think: you knew. You always knew. You let me fly away to far and different distant shores, just so that I could turn around again, and fly right back to you.'

if you're a fan of erotica and feels tired with same old stories and want to read something beautiful and meaningful, pick this one up.

Loved it although I was such a fan of 'The Things That Make Me Give In' that I knew I would. Charlotte Stein's short stories remind me in a weird way of Stephen King's short stories, they pack a massive punch for something so brief. It's like Stein concentrate. Everything you love; the smut, the passion the lovely descriptions condensed to something more bold than her full length novels. They just seem edgier, sharper somehow for the fact that they have to hit the ground running and maintain speed. Also; a tonne of sexy stories about male submissives which are in way too short a supply. Will undoubtedly be re-reading soon.

This is a nice collection of dirty dirty shorts from Charlotte Stein. I love Stein's other collection of shorts, The Things That Make Me Give In, so I was prepared to leap upon this in glee.

There are a lot of male submissives in the bunch so if that's your particular jam then you should 1-click the fuck out of this. Overall, I thought the shorts were all nicely done and complete stories.

This is a lovely collection of erotic short stories. I liked them all, but my favorites are "I Have You," "I Am," and "New Dress." If I had to pick one favorite, I'd probably choose "I Have You," because it's gutsy to write so baldly about grief and healing and reconciliation (with oneself, with one's loved ones).

At first I was a bit hesitant to rate an erotica book 5 stars but even without the sex (and let's face it these stories are scorching hot!) there is so much emotion, intrigue and revelation in each one of them. The writing was lyrical and intense-the style itself is one that really works for me; I was really impressed. This book deserves each one of its stars.

A collection of sensual stories.
Some I would have loved to read whole books about, others I didn’t really care a whole massive amount about.
I did love the way that sensual scenes were written differently for each one though showing what a wide range of literature you can have featuring it

Very well written stories - exactly what you'd expect from Charlotte Stein. I did despair of the repetition of the word 'rude' however. It appears everywhere.
