Heroine was waaaayyyyyy too innocent for my liking!!

K Langston brings it with the boys in blue!!!!!
So this was my first book in the Brothers in Blue series, but I gotta say if the other brothers are anything like Justin, well, I am quickly going to be backtracking to books one and two!!!
Selena is the epitome of sweet and innocence. Poor girl was thrown into an awful life and truly didn’t stand a chance. She lives in fear everyday, but it doesn’t take away her faith and so she prays, for an opportunity to escape, for a greater good, for a hero? Her naivety is what drew me to her and made me love her character. She quickly grows up with Justin’s help and it was awesome!!!!!
What I loved about Justin was the way he handled her with kid gloves (most of the time lol… ). I will be honest I wasn’t too crazy about her age in the beginning, or the fact that he was that much older, but I adapted and got over it. Justin was just too honorable and swoony of a man not to. The way he protects Selena, the way he cares for her and puts her feelings first, it was exactly what she needed and what I, as the reader, needed to just focus on what was going on and shut out the noise. He was a great guy, he loved her, she loved him and it was perfection!!!
I also have to give a shout out to the side characters, because they were priceless and I floved them! Selena’s chats with April were freaking hilarious and had me laughing out loud for real… I also loved Pops so hard, that little old man has won a very special place in my heart forever!
I cannot wait for the next book, bring me some more brothers, please!!!!

Loved this book. A very HOT insta quick story! I only wished again that there was a bit more "substance" but all in all a great rainy day "quickie"!
PS I would have liked "something" more on Max and Bodie and looking ahead I don;t see anything on them...maybe I am missing it but would love to catch up with them both!

OMG!!! SERIES FAVORITE. Wow. I was hooked from novella #1 (which I didn’t even realize was a novella). But THIS. BOOK. OMG. I am freaking addicted. It’s the suspense, these hot leading men, and the amazing writing of Langston that gives me all the feels every single time. Justin Cunningham is my boo. He can protect me any day, any time. I love how hard Justin worked and failed to stay away from Selena. Another fantastic, suspenseful, and intense read from K Langston. LOVED IT!! GIVE ME MORE.

Good!
This series just goes from strength to strength. I loved Justin and Selena. They were captivating, their story was addictive, their live was pure. It was a dark story for Selena growing up, but now she's in the arms of a Cunningham brother, shell never know what dark is again.
Now I NEED book 4, because I have a feeling that Asher's book is going to be a lot more fun and lighthearted.

Fact. THE SERGEANT’S PROTECTION is only the second book I have read by K. Langston but she is quickly becoming a TOP FAVE author! Like, seriously, how have I NEVER heard of her before?!
Set against a picturesque Texas backdrop, she wove a heartstirringly beautiful love story with #allthefeels!! Ms. Langston's eloquent, atmospheric narrative swept me away from the onset and I eagerly lost myself within the pages of this enthralling novel.
This third gripping installment in the testosterone-laden Brothers in Blue series picks up immediately where A DETECTIVE’S TRUST leaves off. During a harrowing rescue mission, Sergeant Justin Cunningham selflessly took a bullet to save Selena Del Marco, the daughter of a nefarious drug lord, and in the ensuing chaos she ended up killing daddy dearest in order to secure her freedom.
There is an instant pull between Justin, a natural born protector, and sweet, innocent Selena from the moment he rescued her that horrible night. He feels an instinctive need to shelter Selena, and a primitive desire to claim her as his.

Holy Feck! This novel TOOK MY BREATH AWAY!!! There is palpable dramatic urgency, searing emotional depth, and a mindblowing intensity to this story that kept my heart in a vise grip and never let go.
I just relish a tale about destiny bringing two lovers together amid unspeakable odds, and I felt it down to my core that Selena and Justin were truly fated to be together from the very first moment they laid eyes on each other. Oh how I ached for Selena, whose world has been tinged with darkness and despair ever since she was ripped away from the only family she knew and then locked away in an iron fortress after bearing witness to her father murdering her beloved mother in cold blood. For years, she lived in severe isolation and horrifying oppression and dreamt of being rescued by her brave knight. And low and behold her savior came in the form of police sergeant Justin Cunningham, a handsome, brave, valiant man in blue who came from a clan of stalwart protectors.
Omg! Justin is hands down one of the SWEETEST, MOST PROTECTIVE Alphas ever!! Big and strong and gently commanding, he possesses a fierce heart and a noble soul. Oooh…he gave me butterflies!!!! I just adore the way he cherishes his beautiful, brave girl with every thunderous beat of his heart!! There is nothing hotter than a hero who truly believes that he is the only man who can love and protect his woman the way she deserves.
"I want to kiss her so f**king bad, to claim those sweet lips, taste not only her happiness but her pain, devour it and take it on as my own."
I also have a weakness for achingly innocent virgin heroines who discover their first taste of passion in the arms of a more experienced man, and boy did this book deliver on that front!! So although this love story was exquisitely, breathlessly tender, if you think you are getting a saccharine sweet romance think again! Selena and Justin positively SMOLDERED together and once they finally succumb to their pent up desire you need a fire extinguisher to douse the flames!!
And speaking of rugged, more mature men….I adore the entire Cunningham clan but MUST give a shootout to Pop! That tough as nails, ornery family patriarch does not throw any punches but his loyalty knows no bounds!!! Loved him hard!!!!!
Bottom line: THE SERGEANT'S PROTECTION, a flawlessly written story about soul-deep healing, true belonging and finding the courage to overcome the scars of the past to forge a new tomorrow, is one of my top romance picks of 2017. My lips are sealed about how all the drama plays out, but there are some adrenaline-pumping OMG plot twists and nail-biting suspense, and I wept happy tears at the ending!! Now I can’t wait for future installments in this FANFREAKINGTASTIC series!

Selena is an innocent beauty who was submerged in the sludge of the underworld her father ruled, but somehow she emerged from it still wholesome and pure. She found her salvation in Justin Cunningham. The man she credits for saving her never seeing the strength she carries inside herself.
Justin carries the badge of the law but, he isn't ruled by it. He does what he deems necessary to keep those he loves safe. His integrity, convictions, and down right alpha nature made him a force to be reckoned with.
Not only was this story sweet and sexy it had a dash of danger and several unexpected twists that kept me on my toes. It was full of secondary characters that rounded out the story and captured my heart. This was a beautifully constructed story that was total perfectly.

I was pulled right into this story. The story has laughs, pain, anger, sadness, secrets, and heartbreak.

This is Selena and Justin’s story. Justin just completed the most dangerous mission of his life and met an innocence woman during that mission. She was trapped and he rescued her but at what cost? She saw things she will never forget. Can she ever be the same? What happens when she finally has freedom from the monster that was her father? Will she believe that she is free? Can Justin help her build a future? Or will she want to be alone and not at the mercy of another man?
I loved these characters and the side characters. I felt I could connect with the characters and the story was a great read.
I highly recommend this book and can’t wait for the next story from this author.

First, you should one click the first two books in this series to understand what's going on in this book. Like everyone else, you will fall in love with the rest of the Brothers in Blue series.
This story picks up after Reid's, and when Justin rescues Selena from her drug lord father. Justin is adamant about Selena coming back to the ranch with him-so he can protect her from new danger he knows is going to come to fruition. Selena dreams of starting a regular life, after living under the same roof of her drug lord father who kept her under lock and key. As Selena and Justin both feel a burning desire for one another, we wait for the other shoe to drop when Justin really needs to put his possessiveness of Selena to the test.
Hot alpha brothers in uniform? Crazy action at every page turn? Men that make your heart swoon? And love scenes that light your e-reader on fire? What else could you want?! This book has it all!- Victoria

I knew that I was going to love Justin when I met him in the last book and I knew this was not going to be an easy journey for either of them, but I loved every word of this book.
It was sexy, full of heart, and a great read. I love this family and the amazing brothers that are loyal, kind hot as soon, and amazing partners. Check out this whole series you will not be disappointed.

I think Justin might be my favourite Cunningham brother yet! There was just something about him that made me swoon. He was so incredibly patient and sweet toward Selena, who has spend most of her life being held captive by her father.
He takes her under his protective wing, promising to look after her and providing her a safe haven. It's very obvious that the couple share an intense attraction to each other, one that Justin is a little reluctant to pursue given everything that Selena has been through, and her age as well. But damn, when the couple finally give into the attraction between them it's hot and steamy. I love how Justin took his time with Selena, *cough, cough* teaching her everything she needed to learn *swoon*!!
I devoured this book in one day! I just couldn't put it down, but then K. Langston tends to have that effect on me. I can't wait for Asher's story; the little glimpse we got of him has me totally intrigued.

I have went through a lot with this family and these brothers and I have enjoyed it all. I always look forward to what path each brother will take and what obstacles will fall in the way and how they will overcome it.

Justin Cunningham is the perfect combination of what a woman wants in a man or at least to me. Possessive but not too much, Compassionate to his bones when needed, Loving with every fiber of his being and most of all Resilient.
"I am the only man who can love and protect her the way she deserves."
Selena Allen has lived a sheltered life but it has also made her weary of those around her and for good reason. Living in a dangerous place with the fear of what could happen to her always looming around in her head because of the unexpected. Being strong and resilient in her own way is how she has survived in the dangerous place she is supposed to call home.
"Every sunset gives us one less day to live but every sunrise gives us one more day to hope.”

Justin and Selena are fireworks and are just full of everything and more!
Justin is so much more than I expected but damn if I don't appreciate it all that much more. These two together is simply beautiful and so constant that it makes me smile just thinking about them again. The love that comes through between them is so blatantly perfect that it will give you butterflies.
The biggest love I had throughout this book was the acceptance and love that Selena receives from everyone in Justin's life including his Pop. The feeling of being welcome is always a great feeling when you feel like the outsider. Everyone always wants to be accepted deep down.
Enter my bestie, Lindsey 😁 she welcomes Selena with wide open arms and a wide open mind too 😉 just full on personality and no filter come with her and I love it! I call dibs ..I saw her first!
There are some twists and turns that were DEFINITELY unexpected but damn did that only make it that much better!
I cannot wait for Asher Cunningham..in the words of my bestie, I would love to be tied to his bedpost for sure! I have no shame in my game ..DIBS have been called! Fall can come faster now!

Justin is so much more than I expected but damn if I don't appreciate it all that much more. These two together is simply beautiful and so constant that it makes me smile just thinking about them again. The love that comes through between them is so blatantly perfect that it will give you butterflies.
The biggest love I had throughout this book was the acceptance and love that Selena receives from everyone in Justin's life including his Pop. The feeling of being welcome is always a great feeling when you feel like the outsider. Everyone always wants to be accepted deep down.
Enter my bestie, Lindsey 😁 she welcomes Selena with wide open arms and a wide open mind too 😉 just full on personality and no filter come with her and I love it! I call dibs ..I saw her first!
There are some twists and turns that were DEFINITELY unexpected but damn did that only make it that much better!

I LOVED this book! I love when a book can surprise me, and this book kept surprising me, chapter after chapter. From page one, there were so many twists and turns, I couldn't put the book down!
When you're reading an interconnected standalone series, such as this one is, sometimes you start to develop pre-conceived notions about a characters personality and why they are the way the are. Since I was introduced to Justin in previous books, I thought I knew him. Sometimes, this can hurt your reading experience, but other times, this makes the experience even better. This book was the latter of the two! Justin is even better than I had imagined! His heart of gold and fierce loyalty shine through his tough boy exterior to make him a very complex and lovable character.
Selena was rescued in a previous Brother's in Blue book. This book picks up right after that rescue, and Selena's pure heart shine through from the first pages! While she should be healing herself and coming to grips with her fate, she is putting others first. As the story progresses, we learn so much more about Selena and her life thus far. Her strength of character were made apparent with all she has endured. Many others would have collapsed under the weight of her traumas, but she stays strong throughout! She is someone I strive to be like!
A few other characters are introduced in this book that are close to the family, and I LOVED hearing more about their lives! And some of their personalities had me laughing out loud at their crazy antics. I don't want to say too much, as it could spoil someone else's reading experience.
Justin and Selena's chemistry and love was so profound, I felt it was something palpable in the room with me while I was reading. Both have overcome so much and strived so hard to become the person they are today, but it was awesome to see them catch fire and blaze together.
Some of the scenes were really hard for me to read, as I was so emotionally invested in the story, that I could feel the emotions and heartbreak as if it were my own. That is one of the best signs of a talented writer!
K. Langston has always been an incredibly talented and gifted writer, but I feel like with every book, she pushes her boundaries and grows as a writer, with The Sergeant's Protection blowing all the previous out of the water! I cannot WAIT for Asher's book to come out, you know I will be devouring that as soon as I can!

So, of course before I begin I want to say thank you to K. Langston. I know not everyone has the chance to receive an ARC, and I'm happy to have been one of the lucky ones. Thanks babe!!!
Okay, now to the good stuff!
I'm kind of psychic because I totally called the whole Justin and Selena relationship. *pats self on the back*. But if you were paying attention you should've known what was coming.
Their relationship was amazing because it had the whole taboo, ten year age difference thing going on; not to mention the drug dealer's daughter mess happening. Their blossoming relationship is kind of like touching a hot stove burner, knowing it's hot; you know you shouldn't, but you have to because you're curious.
Watching Justin fall for Selena was too much fun because he tried so hard not to. When it eventually happened it was like, "Yea Justin we knew already, we're so happy you've decided to join us!" But boy did he make up for lost time, because their love and sex scenes were scorching hot! Yummy yummy goodness, gracious! He's so intense, so watching him crumble under love was so sexy as fuck to watch.
Then there is Selena, who was such a breath of fresh air to the story. With all of the heavy happening around them, she definitely was the light. Her positivity and naivety was something to love because she should have been the one falling apart, yet here she was looking on the brighter side of things and falling in love.
Their story, to me, inspires a sense of hope. Not everybody who falls on hard times can find life's silver lining, but they sure as hell did. Granted it is written to be that way, but you catch my drift.

This story...I'm not even sure I can find the proper way to describe how brilliant and truly amazing it is. These two were made for each other and the road that leads them to each other is absolutely one of the most emotional and passionate stories ever! Justin is without a doubt my favorite Cunningham! that man is seriously too good to be true. the way he loves and protects made my heart beat just a little faster.
Selena is so sweet and innocent. I cried right along with her. She is having to learn so many things at once. The one thing she is sure of is how safe and secure she is with Justin. She has only felt that with her family before things changed drastically but with Justin she never has to question anything. He'll do anything for her.

The Sergeant’s Protection is the third book in K. Langston’s ‘Brothers in Blue Series’, and they should definitely be read in order. This book starts up right at the end of book 2, The Detective’s Turst. That book ended on such a high note I wasn’t sure how long I could wait for Justin and Selena’s story, but holy smokes, it was worth the wait.
Justin Cunningham is a police sergeant and part farmer at his grandfathers ranch. After a confrontation with a Mexican drug cartel where he rescues Selena Del Marco, the daughter of the drug lord, his life changes. This beautiful young woman, who has had her spirit broken, awakens all his protective instincts, and his carnal urges… Selena del Marco has lived in captivity and among cruelty for the past nine years, but then Justin Cunningham sweeps in and saves her life.
I really liked this book. It had all the elements that pulls me right in. The storyline, which took me a little by surprise, was strong. It packed an emotional punch, I didn’t see coming at all and it was so well written. Don’t even get me started on the sexy times, they were so hot, I was blushing in public. Justin is certainly a dirty one. But what really blew me away was Selena. This young woman who dreams of love and family, who has lived without those things for so long, managed to find her inner strength and go after what she wanted from the get go was inspirational.
However, I did think things progressed a little too quickly considering the circumstances of how they met. I’m definitely looking forward to reading what K. Langston has in order for us with Asher’s book. All in all, this was a pleasant reading experience and I give this book 4 stars.

My, oh MY!!! K Langston just keeps getting better and better with each book she writes and has become one of my "No-doubt-ABSOLUTELY-MUST-one-click" authors! I fell sooooo in love with Justin AND Selena, their story has completely captivated me!
Selena...young, beautiful and so very vulnerable. Damaged from the horrors of what she has witnessed and what she knows she will be forced to do by someone who SHOULD be loving and protecting her! And yet, she's still so very innocent in so many ways! My heart broke for her and at the same time, I admired her for the strength it took to overcome everything she discovers about her past.
Justin...older, intensely protective and oh so very Alpha! He was incredibly patient and sweet with Selena, knowing what she went through and fighting his attraction for her, believing she was too young and innocent for the likes of him! *Swoon*
This story set my heart on fire, along with a few items of clothing *winks* The love scenes were hot enough to burn up my kindle, but at the same time, there was an underlying love and intense connection between Justin and Selena that was beautiful to see. I really didn't want this story to end!

K. Langston was brand new to me when I stumbled across the first book in this series but gosh are these brothers are so dreamy. Alpha. Protective. Swoon to the max. Each a crucial part of law enforcement. Each with their own story. Each ready to steal your heart. Simply amazing.
The Sergeant's Protection is the third standalone in the Brothers in Blue series and totally my favorite by far. Sexy. Suspenseful. Intense. Age gap. Do you really need any more reasons? This book was dynamite and hit many tags that I love my romances to have. Plus this hero is so amazing and seriously you'll be swooning from the start.
She's innocent and vulnerable surrounded by darkness and fear until she's saved. He's the man to capture her heart and give her light. She's braver and stronger than she thinks. He's sweet, gentle, and soft to the core for her. Together they are explosive and undeniable with an incredible story to be told.
The chemistry between Selena and Justin was mesmerizing, magnetic, and.... deep. While their journey wasn't easy and was riddled with darkness, secrets, mystery, and suspense... it was also beautiful and breathtaking.
Gosh I got lost between the pages... on the edge of my seat the entire time... racing to get to the end because they totally deserved that happy ending.
I highly recommend this book and series.

K. Langston was brand new to me when I stumbled across the first book in this series but gosh are these brothers are so dreamy. Alpha. Protective. Swoon to the max. Each a crucial part of law enforcement. Each with their own story. Each ready to steal your heart. Simply amazing.
The Sergeant's Protection is the third standalone in the Brothers in Blue series and totally my favorite by far. Sexy. Suspenseful. Intense. Age gap. Do you really need any more reasons? This book was dynamite and hit many tags that I love my romances to have. Plus this hero is so amazing and seriously you'll be swooning from the start.
She's innocent and vulnerable surrounded by darkness and fear until she's saved. He's the man to capture her heart and give her light. She's braver and stronger than she thinks. He's sweet, gentle, and soft to the core for her. Together they are explosive and undeniable with an incredible story to be told.
The chemistry between Selena and Justin was mesmerizing, magnetic, and.... deep. While their journey wasn't easy and was riddled with darkness, secrets, mystery, and suspense... it was also beautiful and breathtaking.
Gosh I got lost between the pages... on the edge of my seat the entire time... racing to get to the end because they totally deserved that happy ending.
I highly recommend this book and series.

I really debated how to rate this book. It falls under the category of "I liked it, but... " for me.
I like Selina and Justine, they make a great couple. But, having not read the prior two books of the series, I felt as if I was missing information.
I overall had a feeling of being tossed into the story and having to figure things out a little bit as I went along. Which probably would not have been the case had I read the other two books first.
There was also a detail/inconsistency issue that kept bugging me - and it didn't have to do with our main characters! It had to do with Justin's grandparents and how long they'd been married. There was a reference to 56 years, but also a reference to 1942, and one to Pop's being deployed to Vietnam before they married. It's a small thing, but it kind of followed me through the story every time I saw Pop's. I think part of the issue is that I see my own Dad as the Pop's character (similar personality, Vietnam era veteran)
It's a little thing, but it did pull me away from the story.
If you are looking for a fast paced story with a great couple and a heart stealing alpha male, then this is definitely one for you. It's a great quick read. I really want to go back and read books 1 and 2 to get to know this family better.

Like a fool, I read this before the ones that came before it and while it stood well as its own story, all I achieve was a frustration that grew as I went through the story because this was fabulous and I knew that I have two more that I had missed out on!
Anyway, what about this…well Selena was a fantastic woman, she was everything that you would least expect from a child brought up by a father that lived his life fully submerged in a world that I could barely comprehend. He had a hand in everything that was so wrong in the world but his daughter wasn’t willing to be absorbed into that life and when she met Justin Cunningham, she found a man that was everything she knew she could ever need.
Justin, OMG this guy took my breath away, he may carry a badge in his pocket but that pales into insignificance with what he carries in his heart, he loves with everything he has and refuses to be limited in any way, neither his badge or anything else will stop him protecting Selena…lookup alpha in the dictionary and I am sure he will be in there somewhere!
There was lots of angst and attitude throughout the book, a few twists and turns that I never saw coming and I doubt you will either.

Received an Arc for an honest review. I really enjoyed books 1 and 2 of the Brothers In Blue series so was eager to read book 3 The Sergeants Protection.
WOW, I don't even know where to begin with this book!!! I knew this book was going to be awesome but I wasn't prepared for how much I loved it!
Justin saved Selena when he helped rescue his brothers girlfriend. They share an instant connection and he vows to take care of her.
They go through so many emotions throughout this story. Justin struggles a little at first but it doesn't take him long to fully embrace them and finally claim Selena as his.
Selena is a little lost and desperate to be part of a family and hopes that Justin can give her that.
There are some real twists that you don't see coming and I loved that. How Justin and Selenas relationship evolves makes you feel every once of love, trust, hope and longning they feel.
I literally devoured this book in a day and couldn't bare to put it down!!!

Justin Cunningham has quickly become my favorite Cunningham brother…so far! This book hooked me from the beginning and I didn’t want to put it down until I was finished. If you’ve read any of this series yet, then you know these brothers are bred protectors of their women and nothing will stop them from doing so. Even if his woman’s father is a cartel leader and he has to take a bullet for her. Justin Cunningham made me swoon hard for him. At first, I admit I was a little put off from Selena’s age (she’s nineteen), but I quickly got over it because their love for each other was so evident. Even sweet and very innocent, my heart bled for what she had been through. Their story is a sweet one and I loved every single moment of it. I loved how all of his friends and family (especially Pop) openly welcomed her into the fold and made her feel at home.
This book has all the components for a great story. Love, suspense, and an Alpha man that loves his woman whole heartedly. I cannot wait to see what Asher’s story brings us next. Come on fall!
