When it comes to love, Irulan Daniels has absolutely no problem finding a man to give her that. But when it comes to her giving the same in return, she falls short. Irulan wants to feel a connection, but all she keeps getting is relationships full of emptiness. After tying on one too many drinks, a simple joke turns into a bet that Irulan never intended to follow through on. Falling for one of her closest friends was not in the cards for her, especially since that friend is Mason Andrews.
Mason Andrews is strong, confident and as handsome as they come, but he struggles in the love department. He has yet to find a woman that can give him everything that he needs, but he’s working overtime to hide the way he feels about a certain someone. Mason has known Irulan since they were teenagers and he’s trained himself to believe that there’s nothing romantic between them, but one night of curiosity proves him wrong.
Now, Irulan and Mason are forced to deal with their feelings for each other, but a past fling is determined to keep them apart. With trouble on the horizon, Mason and Irulan must fight harder than ever before. Will they be able to handle what’s coming their way? Or will their happily ever after end before it even begins?
Mason and Irulan both had issues, but I was glad to see how they worked thru them. I enjoyed this book as much as I enjoyed the first one by this author. The four friends were a trip! I liked that they all looked out for each other. Looking forward to reading more from Ms. Taylor!

Things were going great until 2 people that were in his life did any and everything to keep them apart. Will Leslie feel like this is the love worth fighting for? Or will she come to the conclusion that it's just not worth the headaches?
I really enjoyed this series. It can really be read as stand-alones but characters from the first book are mentioned in others so I enjoyed reading them in order. I love the every day characters. It was refreshing not reading about your usual dopeboy who brought a female up and got 8 baby mamas who's jealous and does everything to destroy their relationship. Instead it was about finding the love that was in your face the whole time. Overall series 4*
This book was great, I really enjoyed the story line. The characters were what friendship is all about. To be able to tell your friends exactly what they don't want to hear and still be friends is real. Irulan & Mason danced around each other for years before they would admit to themselves how they truly felt for each other. When it comes to true love, you can't hide or run from it.
It is really a shame that the best part of this book is in fact the last 15 to 20 minutes.
The characters were all over the place. So as you flip the page -- or maybe a few pages -- then there is another irreverent person. Not impressed by the story or the plight, e.g., Jason's character and his issues www not addressed. Apparently he has some abandoned issues which were not addressed at all.
This story was so full of good juicy drama! This story is full of laughs too! I was glad Irulan and Mason finally got it together! I felt Irulan's ex was a bit stockerish. He just kept popping up. But anyway I enjoyed the story!
Mason and Irulan was always drawn to each other but considered each other family until one taste changed it all. I loved the chemistry of the characters, and the story was filled with plenty of wit and sass. Good read.
I hate stubborn a** people and these two were just that. I really wish we would have seen more of their dynamic as an everyday couple. Either way, I liked the book. READ IT!
The books have had me hooked. Been reading while I should be sleep or somewhere completing homework. I can't believe I waited this long to read this series
Irulan, Mason, Jamal,Leslie and Whitney always hung together. They called themselves family. Mason tended to date superficial women and Leslie was a man eater for sure.. Whitney and Jamal were a couple. Irulan was the understated beauty that Mason craved, yet he was unwilling to admit at first. He would not acknowledge that Irulan had his heart. Mason chose women with fake everything including having no real personality. Irulan, on the other hand was his perfect match. It took a long time to see what their friends already knew. Mason and Irulan had a love they could not hide
Another great read by A.C. Taylor. The main characters Irulan and Mason have been into each other since forever.. Everyone was aware of this but them. They wondered why their relationships with others wasn't enough and they didn't feel complete. Something was missing. The secondary characters were well developed. This story was a sexy, dramatic, funny and heart warming moments. Loved it. I am a fan and I am reviewing her book list to see what I've missed.
This wasn't your typical hood love story, I love how all the characters were relatable. Irulan's name was so unique and I instantly fell in love with it. Finally her and Mason got their perfect ending. This book was edited really good and I truly enjoyed reading about all the characters, I hope this isn't the last time we hear from Irulan, Mason and the crew. 5 ⭐️read
I enjoyed the book for the most part. I just felt everyone gave Irulan a pass for her behavior. She kept getting into compromising positions with James, but everyone acted like Mason was overreacting reacting. I also didn't think how Mason handled Bridget was right either. He new she wasn't his girl, but kept letting her take liberties like she was, it didn't make sense. So for me it was just an ok read. Not sure if I would read anything else from this author.
These always had something type of feelings for each other that made them uncomfortable and confused. Mason did lead Bridget on.. But they acted like kids in high school, I didn't think it was that serious but feelings, high expectations, and miss information can be the pits. Leslie never got nobody and what happen to Jamal n Whitney??? Yeah Mason n Irulan got their happy ending.
I am a sucker for a good love story and that is exactly what this book was. Irulan and Mason tried to fight the inevitable. Through all the ups and downs they realized true love prevails. I can't wait to read more from AC Taylor.
This was a love story that was nicely written I enjoyed this book Ac looking forward to what else you have for us readers .One click on this book readers you will not be disappointed.
This a good love story. Comes to show you that love could be right in front of you waiting to be discovered. We all tend to hold our love ones on a pedestal n have high expectations for them but until we see the true them we miss out on love.
