But, ending up a warp jump guinea pig and the world’s least prepared ambassador to an alien planet is the least of her problems now…

With her height coming up to the shoulder of the average Venarian, Marie sees no hope of escape when these barbarians seem to be interested in nothing more than having their way with her.

But, what makes her whimper is a single touch of Garin, the Alien Lord and clearly one of the most feared men on this planet. He is shaking. And in the backs of his eyes, Marie senses a sudden, ferocious joy that she cannot understand.

The moment he isn’t acting like an ass, she can feel how something in her wants him. Sure, the muscular hunk looks good, smells good. His touch is strangely comfortable. She loves to hear him talk, that velvet voice like a panther speaking...

But, his attitude and his impatient demands have already ruined everything for Marie. Or, is it really what it is?

So why is it that she still craves his touch and only wants more of the Handsome Monster?

Annoying

The h Marie was so Annoying I DNF she runs away which is normal behavior but I just did not care for her I liked the H

I liked this story. Enough that I would like to check out some others in this series some day. I will agree with other reviews that Marie was annoying, but for me it was only for the first half of the book. I hate it when the female runs away from a situation where she is safe into a completely unknown world where she would have no idea what to do and would be in more danger just because she's scared. I get it, you're afraid...but use your fucking brain. I just get so frustrated when these chicks think that they'll actually find a way back home on their own when they're on an unknown alien world. I really liked Garin's character, and I also really liked his sister. While their fashion choices left much to be desired, I also liked the world created here.

Marie thought it was great opportunity to be able work with this scientist that she almost idolized. That respect quickly changed to hate when he forced her to be a guinea pig for his new warp drive or whatever. She knew little of the mission she was being forced on except that she was supposed to act as an ambassador of a sorts for a trade between him and a ruler on this alien planet. As soon as she wakes up from her stasis, things go from bad to worse. The ruler she was to contact has been assassinated and she finds herself captive of this huge alien Lord.

Like I said, I did like Garin. One of many Lords on this planet he is participating in a war to become High Lord. When he commandeers the clunky ship Marie came on, he never intended her any harm. But he also never expected her to be his mate. His people can sense their mate by pheromones and as soon as he touches her, Garin knows he has to keep and protect her. Unfortunately for him, because Marie is human she doesn't work the same way and his overbearing actions only serve to scare her away.

I had to roll my eyes when Marie ran away, but thankfully Garin's sister came to the rescue and convinces her to go back and give him a chance after explaining things. The story really picked up for me around half way thru when the two of them are ambushed by an enemy and forced to rely on each other to stay alive. From there things happen fast. Heads roll, enemies surrender, and the next thing you know Marie is a queen.

All in all, an enjoyable short story.

Needed to be fleshed out.

I like the story, but reminded me of two other stories I read a year ago. It lacked depth in many places, while very good story in much of it.

Fantastic Read

I think its a good start. I enjoyed the world building and thought it was good.

Marie is sent by her boss, or rather blackmailed into go to a new planet to share technology and data. What Marie doesn't know is that her contact on the new planet has been assassinated and the large man before her is not who she was expecting. He's terrifying and he's captured her taking him to his home. Marie, has a lot to learn and this alien and his plans for her.

I think because of how short this one was it went by a little too fast. It was short and to the point.

Sorry but like other readers I found the heroine, Marie, to be very annoying. She's a drama queen who reacts first and thinks later. She is supposed to be an anthropologist but instead of asking the Hero to explain what he was saying in terms of his culture etc, like you might expect from a clever person she tears off into an unknown culture to get away...she is on a completely different planet with no means of getting off of it.
Our hero was not as alpha as I would like. His sister was good, I liked her.
This is not a story I would re-read and I'm not recommending it either, sorry.

I would be his captive

This story is about a woman who is sent to test the first hyperactive created by humans. She finds herself in an interesting situation on a planet where they pick mates by pheromones. Of course, the human is not as sensitive as the native inhabitants. It was a pleasant read. I think you would enjoy it if you like the lighter side of romance.

The heroine has several tstl moments. She gets all up in arms about his wanting to jump in to mating and babies blah blah blah, had a huge run away fit, then had sex with him the next day. She acts as though earth females go around being constantly fearful of being raped. I like the hero, more so in the beginning. The ending was rushed, but quite frankly I was glad to have it over sooner.

It was just okay for me. The book had promise, but there was no world building. As it stood, it was vague. The other thing that bothered me was that it was a short read. It was only 77 pages, but then when I downloaded the book, it was double spaced so the book was about half of that.
