This is a great text for teaching short stories. All the greats are there (Faulkner, D.H. Lawrence, Thurber, Chopin, Gordimer, James Joyce) and some lesser knowns. They are an equal representation of men and women, British and American.

If I ever get to teach Short Story, this will be the foundation for the texts and exercises. It's especially relevant for teaching ESL students.

A fantastic book full of interesting short stories suitable for ESL students.
I came across it for the first time during my studies and have been using it as additional reading material for my students. There are exercises behind each story enabling a teacher to expand the story.
I would highly recommend it to anybody teaching advanced students, or to an English student wanting to have some fun.
