Princess Yvette of Mevendia has been engaged since before her first birthday. Thanks to the ridiculous contract her father signed, the engagement is still intact and the wedding set to occur a week after her eighteenth birthday, even though the groom's been dead for over seventeen years.

Or has he?

Prince Nicklaus of Ravenzario and his nanny narrowly escaped death when a car accident claimed the lives of his parents. Raised in hiding in the United States, and recently informed of his royal heritage, Nicklaus has returned to the land of his birth just in time for his wedding.

Nicklaus finds himself attracted to Princess Yvette, but is that enough to go through with the wedding? Or will he suffer banishment not only for himself, but the nanny who raised him and the fiance he's only just met? Despite his tall, dark, and handsome appeal, Yvette isn't sure she wants to go through with the wedding - but she really doesn't want to be exiled either. She prefers to be proactive, to go after what she wants, but this time, the princess finds her future, her chance at happiness, in the hands of the prince from her past.

Prince from Her Past, written by Carol Moncado, is yet another GREAT romantic and suspenseful addition to The Brides of Belles Montagnes series.
What did I like about this story? I LOVED the entire book! There wasn't anything I didn't just fall in love with....from Yvette's preparation for a wedding without a groom to the introductions and OH, the suspense throughout! It was just edge of your seat love and romance, with that suspense that only Moncado can add to this series. Just when you think you know where this story is going...guess again because she throws in a zinger that just blows you away! This series is awesome, but this book tops them all....but I say that about every book this author releases...just keeps getting better! A must read!
I was gifted this book in exchange for my honest review.

Romance, clean, Christian, some fade to black scenes
Definitely some romance in this, although it is a different novel from much of what CM writes. This is not so much the chase as getting to know someone after marriage to honor the contract written by monarchs of 2 countries between their children. Evie and Nick are a lovely couple, both trying to figure out the newness of their relationship without time before a wedding ensues. They have definite chemistry, but want to be committed and love each other too. Nick has been hidden and living as a commoner in America and has a huge adjustment to make to living as a Prince in a foreign country. But the kindness, honest caring, and of course the attraction they both feel, complicated by the politics and chaos of royal life made for a lovely fall. Another good read for me by CM.

From her very first book, I knew I wanted to follow Carol Moncado as a Christian fiction author. She simply is just a wonderful writer. My opinion has not changed one bit since then, either.
Her Brides of Belles Montagnes series is great and I enjoyed Princess Yvette and Prince Nicklaus's story. I am looking forward to more from her in these series, too.

Yay! Another book from my one of my favorite authors, and series. I've been anticipating this story for quite awhile. It sure did not disappoint. All my old friends from previous books are around and these two characters are so endearing. Clean romance. Light Christian fiction.

I’ve read all the books in the Monarchies of Belles Montagnes series and based on my rankings, the first six books came out to an average of 4.58. I started reading book seven, “Prince from Her Past” directly after finishing book six, “Protecting the Prince “ and in little time at all, I was disappointed. After finishing the book, my overall impression was still one of disappointment as the book felt disjointed and disconnected.

Frankly, I wasn’t prepared to be disappointed by book seven, as book six had been so strong. The lead characters, Michaela and Tony were rock stars in six. Each in their sphere performed exceptionally; they didn’t just do what their duty required, but gave their all to serve God and man. Michaela trained Nicklaus well, within the confines of not telling him specific details of his birth and heritage for safety sake. Michaela and Tony continue to perform well in book seven, but are only minor players that do not drive the story.

IMO, another problem with this book was the angst. The lead characters Nicklaus and Yvette repeatedly swing between indecision versus resolution, this became tedious. In book six, Nicklaus seemed like an above average and mature young adult, but in seven, he falls apart in many areas of his life. Yvette, his contractual bride was rather closed off, frustrated, and slings out her anger in many directions. It isn’t until the very end of the story that this couple begins to communicated in a mature and healthy manner.

I think of this type of book as “royal fiction” that centers in the make-believe world of various Monarchies of Belles Montagnes. It is also labeled as Christian. When I read that a book is labeled Christian, I expect the book to uphold and reinforce Christian elements in both word and in practice. All the other books in this series had average to above average faith elements and realistically applied those faith elements to practice. In fact, book six, “Protecting the Prince” has fabulous faith elements. But book seven was a disappointment as the faith elements were thin.

Moncado really knows how to write and I’ve enjoyed many of her books and will continue to read her books, but book seven IMO was just average.

Reading for the second time

This book was just as good the second time around! Just enough time has passed since my first reading that I had forgotten some of the details, but I am re-reading all of Carol Montado's books since discovering them about four years ago. The royal families in her "world" make fascinating reading. I love the intricate relationships between the families, and the love stories always leave me feeling happy!

Great story

So many things got wrapped up in this story. It was mostly about Nicklaus and Yvette, but the continuing saga of Lizbeth and her father is finally finished. The problem with reviews is trying to convince other readers this is a story worth their time but not give away any important details. All I can say is just read it, you won't be disappointed.

Don't start this until you have time to read!!

Its amazing just how good Carol Moncado's books are. Her characters are so real you feel like you know them. Her stories never drag or get dull. The Prince From Her Past was a total delight to read...exciting with so much more. But beware, once you get started reading her books you will find yourself looking for more!!

A fun read with a good message

Fun, sweet, and engaging storyline throughout the series. They were all good. Having had a miscarriage due to a SCH, I enjoyed that being woven into the story. Loved how this one had more depth and Biblical content than some of her others but really have enjoyed every book Ive read by this author.

Enjoy all of Carol Moncado's Monarchy romances. Descriptive European setting, relatable characters, twist and turn plots with suspense. Intriguing thought provoking theme of arranged marriage. Princess Yvette's dilemma had me at the edge of my seat with page one of this page turning romance.

Prince From Her Pass

I have read all the books in this series and the others. I have truly enjoyed every book and would read them again. A book filled with romance. a touch of mystery, and adventure. It's hard to put down and makes you want to read more or that it was longer.

Great series

I love all of this series from beginning to end. Although royalty abounds throughout, these characters go through through more intrigue than most while touching your heart. I couldn't put these books down and can't wait for more from this author.

Prince From Her Past is the last book in the Monarchies of Belles Montagnes series. You finally get to see what will happen to Yvette and the dead prince, Nicklaus, who she was engaged to. Wow, I really liked this book! It was a wonderful addition to the series and I feel like it ended well.
Yvette has been engaged to a dead guy for as long as she can remember. However, because of the contract her father signed, she needs to plan and have her wedding. Things have a way of falling apart when the groom actually shows up and Evie finds out that the man she thought had died, was actually alive.
Evie was a fun character to read about because she was so young, she was only eighteen when she got married. She and Nicky were one of the few couples who started out liking each other from the beginning. They didn’t really know each other but they had a mutual respect for each other. Evie really wanted Nicky to choose her and not just because of obligation. I loved how they really tried to make their relationship work.
Nicky was sweet, he didn’t know anything about Evie but he agreed to marry her in order to keep her safe. He was such a kind person and even though he didn’t really know Evie, he still wanted what was best for her. He was raised to be such a polite young man, I really liked him.
I felt so bad for Nicky and Evie as they tried to work their marriage out, there were so many obstacles that stood in their way. But I loved how their family stood by them and tried their best to support them. Nicky and Evie had demons they had to fight, but being married means they have to work out their past together.
Prince from Her Past was really good and I couldn't put it down. There are points in the book where I didn’t know how it would all work out, but thank goodness the ending was perfect. I would totally recommend the book, and I just love all of Ms. Moncado’s books!

9.15.16 - I originally read this book back in February and liked it, but it wasn't my favorite. After a second read-through today I have to say that I really enjoyed it. A fun read on its own, this story also wraps up many of the loose ends from the Montevaro Monarchy series and the rest of the Brides of Belles Montagnes series...but not all! Keep reading!

Carol Moncado has done it again!
This last book in the Brides of Belles Montagnes series is full of all things royal.
How would you feel if you were suddenly told that the guy you thought was dead, wasn't AND you were expected to marry him in a week?
Yvette has known for years she was to marry a prince from another country, but that prince had died years ago. The ceremony was still to take place because of the contract that both families had made so she had been preparing herself for the sad humiliating day.
NOW there actually is a prince, and she has to deal with all those feelings.
Can she come to accept her future?
Nick had always known his parents had died in a car accident, he just didn't know he wasn't really American that he was in fact a prince. On top of that he was to marry a girl he had never met before.
Could he truly love her and protect her?
If this wasn't enough add to the mix some twisted suspense that will keep you reading not able to put it down!
WOW!
If you like romance, suspense, and all things royal then you will love this book!
I was blessed to receive this book so I could write a review, and it has met all my expectations!

Carol Moncado has become one of my favorite authors. She takes the little wisps of daydreams I had as a teenager, and turns them into great novels with plot twists galore, great characters, and good spiritual content to top it all off! I like the fact that characters you meet in one book will keep popping up in later books. I also like the fact that couples learn to really communicate with each other, so relationships are built on trust, not on sexual attraction alone. “Prince from Her Past” continues in the great Moncado tradition: filling in gaps from previous books, dropping hints for the future, leaving me gasping on the sofa with yet another cliff hanging plot twist, reminding me of what makes a good marriage, and making me pant with anticipation for her next book.

Prince from her Past by Carol Moncado is the best so far. Her books just get better and better.

Their fathers arranged their marriage when they were babies to protect their kingdoms. Nicky was presumed dead after the car accident that killed his parents but, according to law, nothing could happen until after the wedding. Yvette planned the perfect wedding even though she knew it wouldn't happen. When Prince Nicklaus appears and agrees to go through with it, some people are not happy. The twists and turns of romance and mystery kept me reading without stopping. I could not put this book down. This whole series is a must read. I was given a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

OMG!! Wow!!! I love, loved this latest addition to the Brides of Belles Montagnes.
Everything about the book is exciting, all the pomp and circumstance, the heart stopping romance and the edge of your seat suspense,
Carol paints a pretty picture of three small kingdoms in Europe with their Royal Families.
We see the Lord's protection of the family throughout the book.
If you enjoy royal watching, romance and suspense , this book is for you.
Thank you for the honor and privilege of giving my honest opinion in exchange for this book.

I love Carol's books. I usually read it from page 1 and don't stop till I'm done. This one started off a little slow, but once I got into the meat of the story I couldn't put it down. I love Carol's creative mind. She writes amazing books!

The Prince of her Future

Is Princess Yvette planning a Wedding just to be stood up or will there actually be a groom waiting for her at the altar? And is Prince Nicholas even the real prince? Lots of ups and downs in this rollercoaster story .
