Stoney Creek, Alabama

Rate this book
Sydney Lassiter has the perfect life--glamour, wealth, and all the high society status to go with it. But something is telling her that she needs to return to the sleepy little town of Stoney Creek, Alabama, where she grew up. She hasn't been there since her father was killed in a boating accident--or was he murdered? She takes a job as a safety consultant at the local sawmill--the same place where her father worked. Tension mounts as Sydney begins asking questions that people just don't ask in Stoney Creek. There are too many secrets. To complicate matters, she becomes torn in a confusing love quadrangle--two men, and the other woman, who seems to want both of them. And both men seem to have some connection to the death of her father. Someone's going to get killed before this is over.

Jennifer loves reading and writing clean romance. She believes that happily ever after is not just for stories. Jennifer enjoys interior design, rollerblading, clogging, jogging, and chocolate. In Jennifer’s opinion there are few ills that can’t be solved with a warm brownie and scoop of vanilla-bean ice cream.
Jennifer grew up in rural Alabama and loved living in a town where “everybody knows everybody.” Her love for writing began as a young teenager when she wrote stories for her high school English teacher to critique.
Jennifer has a BA in English and Social Sciences from Brigham Young University Hawaii where she served as Miss BYU Hawaii. Before becoming an author, she worked as the owner and editor of a monthly newspaper named The Senior Times.
She now lives in the Rocky Mountains with her family and spends her time writing and doing all of the wonderful things that make up the life of a busy wife and mother.

A good plot line and murder mystery interwoven with drama and romance. While you can tell the author is still a novice it is a very good read and one that will leave u guessing right until the mystery is revealed.

I stayed up until 4am reading this when I had no time for staying up late. 'Nuf said.

Jennifer and her family are here in Laie--wonderful people, and I like Jennifer's writing. She did a little piece on the meaning of "Bless your heart" in the South that was absolutely delightful. My wife and I are now her fans!

I recommend this to anyone who loves intrigue, mystery, love stories and faith. The authors keep you guessing and keep you intrigued. I love how they draw from the gospel and teach simple principles of faith, service, and prayer along with the storyline.

Very fun read and easy too. Of coarse there is a bit of a love triangle, but a lot of mystery as well.

This is an amazing book. It was on the longish side, but a page turner. Don’t start anytime close to bedtime. I loved that it was a clean book despite the subject matter. I will be watching for another book by this mother/daughter team

Very well written. Keep me wanting to turn the page. I felt a lot of emotions during this book. Sometimes I hated the characters and sometimes I loved them.

Fun story. The mystery was a little thin, but a good quick read.

This book was well presented because the author kept me guessing. There was constant confusion on who to trust. Knowing the author was an extra bonus. Great job Jennifer!

Poorly written; extremely repetitive. I lost count of how many times the lead character's face "warmed."
