Karyn Rourke works hard as an ER nurse and doesn’t really have time for much of a personal life. She spends her free time watching the Travel Channel and dreaming about a life that she’ll never really have.

When a huge creature crashes into the hospital wreaking havoc and killing patients and several of Karyn’s coworkers, two men from the Kansas City branch of Department 99 show up to capture the creature and restore order.

Killian Marshall is a dark-mannered agent in the local field office of the Department 99. He’s a hard-as-nails tough guy, and virtually fearless. He has very few memories about his life before being a member of the organization. The memories that he does have come in the form of dream-like flash backs that haunt him. He doesn’t think that he was a good guy at all.

When Killian and his partner arrive on the scene, he is stunned to find a beautiful blonde standing face to face with the monster he came to take down. This nurse is unlike any human woman Killian has ever met. Killian has never found himself attracted to a human before, but this one is fascinating. Her bravery and commitment to helping others in the face of a terrifyingly dangerous ordeal stirs something inside of him.

Up until this evening, Karyn was completely unaware of the existence of werewolves, healers, or any other type of supernatural creature. Now, here she is, smack dab in the middle of some sort of alternate reality. What’s more, she finds herself inexplicably drawn to the sexy hero who took down a monster before her very eyes.
The only thing is, the sexy hero is a vampire.

Good

There was so much happening, I didn't know what was real and what wasn't. Interesting story and really weird characters. In a good way. I guess the only thing I can say is to stop reading and come back to it when your eyes start rolling around in your head. Lol
