Chief Inspector Duncan Kincaid takes a well deserved vacation at a time share resort when the owner offers it to him. Within a day, a manager is found dead, electrocuted in the pool. Duncan must weather the antagonism of the local incompetent and antagonistic local police to find the killer who is one of the guests. Recommended.

Made it through three chapters, but the protagonist was kind of a jerk, and the writing so ridden with clichés that I lost interest.

This is for A Share in Death, Book 1. The first of a series and I like it already. I like the characters and am looking forward to the next one.

As I expected it is a complex but believable plot. The two main characters are very personable and feel real to me after reading all the previous books in this series.

I read this in stops and starts so not a very fair review as had to keep trying to remember where I’d got to. A gentle, undemanding murder that only became interesting in the last few chapters.
