Plagued by formatting errors and typos

Formatting errors and typos take away from the actual content of the book. Normally, I’d be more forgiving, but since this is the fourth edition of this book I expected more polish. A lot of the errors are really basic things, too, such as the Kindle version not accurately reporting page numbers until partway through chapter 9, or the frequent misspellings of both BUD/S and SEALs (in the book you’ll see “BUDs”, “buds”, “bud”, “SEALS”, “Seals”, and “seals”). I salute the author for the achievement of writing the book, but it needs some heavy-duty editing & polishing.

Ideas and principles were good. The writing style was not as strong as I expected. Some typos in the book. Some parts were overly simplistic

Enjoyable and informative

I really enjoyed this book. Informative, well written with good advice for all, even those not wanting to be a Navy Seal. Actionable guidelines.

The first chapters are fine, then you get the impression that the author had to fill pages. Better read Mark Divine’s book (unbeatable mind) or perhaps I read them in the wrong order.

Very little about self-discipline

Navy Seal Fan book.
Not enough detail for anyone - general public or for someone interested in enlisting.
Read for entertainment only!

If you change "man" to "person" book full of insight generally.

If you substitute "person" (or "soldier") for "man," this book is an excellent manual for applying the time-honed techniques of SEAL training to everyday life. Yes, I am aware that there have never been female SEALs. Thinking only in male pronouns when discussing excellence will perpetuate those limitations extant in both systems--the military, business, medicine--and in one's personal sphere. This book potentially has limitless application to systems theory, even marriage and the raising of honorable children. BUT not until we see changes to the language--which is, as the author points out, critical to candidates' success. Until then the book, like the systems it describes, remains cut off from the excellence of 1/2 the humans capable of excellence. And their insights. Can't overcome until you ADAPT, guys.

Interesting book. Fun read.

If you have little or no knowledge of basic security this book is for you. Obviously we must adapt the book strategies to our situation ; some things will fit like a glove other ideas won't. It is thought provoking. I would humbly suggest for nutrition advice seek out Primal Endurance. You can't go wrong. Jt Merlin

This book is extremely short, but I think it largely accomplishes its goal of illustrating the attributes of Navy Seals that can be applied to everyone who seeks self-improvement. The information is all pretty high-level, but there is a lot of good advice to be gleaned from these pages.

Good concise information.

Worth the time to read. I especially liked the chapter on nutrition which is an often overlooked part of the SEALS training.
