Initially I thought please not another boring, unbelievable ghost story but chose to give the author's story a chance. I'm glad I did. The author wrote a ghostly story with clues, romance, reality within. I was finally able to put together who Carlo's true love really was but until Thursday I shall have to wait to find what Arrdon's sexy, artist neighbor's name is and what' s for dinner
Initially I thought please not another boring, unbelievable ghost story but chose to give the author's story a chance. I'm glad I did. The author wrote a ghostly story of romance, clues of mystery and intrigue within. Although I was able to figure Carlos true love their meeting brought tears to my eyes. Now I am left anxiously awaiting Thursday. What is this sexy neighbor's name and what's for dinner?
Very entertaining characters. Laughed out loud several times. At times a bit too predictable but overall enjoyed reading and would recommend to friends.
Very much enjoyed the stories; however, there were a lot of grammatical errors. They were all very good reads that kept me interested until I completed them all. Would have given 5 stars, but for the grammatical errors I could only give 4.
I just finished the first book in this series "Murder she typed". I just love the twists, food, romance and mystery in these cozy mystery books. I just finished reading "Murder by the Book," the second book 6/25/16. I just love these books. (7/6/16). I just finished the 3rd book in this series "Murder takes a Holiday". What an awesome read. There were more than usual grammatical errors in this one and toward the end I was lost. It did go on to explain what was going on, but I feel it could have been written differently. I have now started the 5th book in this set. I just can't get enough of these cozy mysteries. 8/23/16 finished 6th book in this series. I just can't get enough. Finished reading the last book. It was quite awesome. It had me guessing right to the end.
The last short story a out the ghost was good. The second to the last about the suspected suicide was bad. I hope no city of town would blame a person from a suicide hot!ine for not preventing The suicide of a rich woman. The author did disservice to the privacy and help given by suicide hotlines. The rest of the books all followed one pattern; the woman decides the wrong person is the killer. Then the killer finds her and she is rescued by her new boyfriend. All are binge eaters.
I really enjoyed these 7"cozy mysteries. Although the premise for each story involves murder, they were written in a light-hearted manor which was thoroughly entertaining. The stories do need to be rechecked for missing words and grammatical errors. However, my brain seemed to override these errors and it didn't affect my enjoyment of the stories. I hope both authors continue to keep writing.
Some stories especial!y cupcakes and cat stories were extremely capturing and very good reads. Some were boring and difficult to get into. Some stories seemed far fetched initially but was able to get into them eventually Good for someone who is convelasing and needs some light reading.
Each book in this collection is a little gem. Well written and very entertaining, perfect to curl up with on a cold winter's night. I especially enjoyed the romantic ghost! Highly recommended reading for all mystery lovers.
The first 6 books were a fun read, greatly enjoyed them... I skipped over the 7th book. Too silly and I like books about ghosts. Just could not get into it.
Mystery that is fun and entertaining. Page turner. The author includes love and relationships without explicit descriptions of sex. Recommend for all readers.
The first set of books is just redundant. You have an overweight woman who continually stuffs her face (which I find exceedingly disgusting), unconsciously gets into situations just by being air-headed and winds up face to face with the killer and is amazingly rescued at the last minute. Everyone one of this author's books reads the same. Makes for very monotonous reading. Not my cup of tea.
The second author started out pretty much the same, but her last book, Haunt Flashes, was exceedingly good. Enjoyed it immensely. Now if Leigh can just ignore Sylvia's musings and write as she did in the last book, she could make herself a good little writer. But, she should get herself a proofreader, or read it over herself, making sure that what she meant to say is what she actually wrote. Like starting with the house the heroine moves into, which then becomes an apartment, which then becomes a bungalow, then back to an apartment and so on. She leaves it up to the reader to figure out that an apartment, and rarely a bungalow, have attics, so it must be a house. But the author should never make the reader figure out what the author meant. It should be clear as a bell. A reader reads for enjoyment, not to try to figure out the author's intent.
And last, but not least, I could do without the recipes. If i want recipes, I will read a cookbook, not a mystery book.
I liked almost all the books. The last one with the ghost of an actor was a bit far fetched for me- though the humor between the main character and her cute neighbor was not bad.The thing that bothered me about them were the mistakes which got more frequent as you got further into the stories. It was almost as if no one proof read & corrected the mistakes. The last book had pages with several on a single page. This was annoying.
MURDER SHE TYPED A delightful story of humor, of seeing everyday things in a more humorous way, when one is older. Izzy, seems like a charming woman, smart, and has a knack for investigation. One wonders did the diet or the 3 layer cake win. New author, and will look for more by her. A good collection of humorous stories to read one or all
Cute little mystery stories. The first two series are older women solving incidence that happen near their homes. I like Flo and Izzy the best. They all are a little over weight and enjoy sugary treats and sexy clothes. The third series is about a ghost that can’t move on until he finds his long lost love. Easy entertaining read. I like these little stories just for easy quick reads.
This was different than most of the books I read but I found I really enjoyed it for the most part. All the different characters some if who had me laughing out loud others, while others had me wanting to shake them to keep them out of trouble.
seven books some better than others. the lizzy greene ones were cute. Seniors in their 70's solving murders. The last 2 were interesting Rosie going back to find her routes and maybe her real family. Spread them out so you are not reading them all at one time.
