It’s time to bind his chosen one to him, and for her to learn all about her true clan.
Theirs is a battle of lost love, of passion flaring hot and strong, and of a journey to bridge the gap between two warring clans.

Joanne Wadsworth continues her wonderful series of the Matheson Brothers with Highlander's Bride, book #7. I am absolutely loving this series and I was so excited to read Kyla and Ronan's story, it sure didn't disappoint! It's taken 20 years for Ronan to find his chosen mate again and now that he's found her, he has no intention of letting her go. Unfortunately there are others who will try to separate them and they must fight to get their HEA. The love and passion they have for each other had me swooning, it's so powerful. A very well written story that involves characters with fae blood and the powers that come with it.

I found this book discounted on Amazon via Bookbub; this is my honest review. -For those who don't know, most of what's missing in this book is in the previous book "Highlander's Sword", such as when Ronan is in captivity and meets Christina/Kyla again after 20 years. -This is the best, with the previous book, in the series - don't miss out on these! -I loved their love story and how they rekindled and how Ronan knew when he was younger that Christina was the one for him. I really liked how the author webbed the story of Coll and Duncan together with the fae people and we understand better Muirin and Niall's story. We get to know Hamish better too. I really liked Cedric and hope to see him again. -In the prologue, the author repeats Christina's story but with more details. The child is 3 y.o. but her mother treats her like she's a teenager or something, including not holding her hand while traversing the dark hallway but urges her to keep up, which is why Fiona was able to push her aside and got her to almost lose sight of Grace, her mother. -Christina's story is repeated again and again. At some point, 1/2 a chapter was copied from the previous book, just to repeat it again. Same with the prologue - it's repeated throughout. -OMG the whole time I thought Colin had kidnapped her because she had kicked him! I'm still confused as to why not wait until she was in full control of her gifts, then kidnap her and marry her off to one of his sons. -I found it a bit unbelievable that Christina learned how to quilt with her mother, remembers enough to make her own when she's older with her parents favorite colors. She was 3 when she left. -Funny moment: “I’ll never allow Jeremiah to take my wife from me.” - he just did; she's gone. -Confused. 1. Why Ronan would get the priest himself, leaving Kyla behind, instead of sending a courier. 2. "lit by the odd flickering candle in a wall sconce" Why is it odd? All candles do that. 3. Why did Kyla dropped her connection with Ronan to speak to Fiona - she was right there so no need to speak in her head. 4. When Ronan becomes Rand again for the sake of Jeremiah he's still wearing his clan's colors (he specifically said he was when he dressed) - and no one noticed? -I thought Kyla was so unkind to Fiona when she shared she was afraid of small space and she said “Aye, but ’twas so long ago. You must set that fear aside.”. Our fears may be irrational but they are real. -Grace is happy to have found her child again and thanks Ronan "Tis truly a miracle our Christina—I mean Kyla" Kyla told Ronan she would go back to Christina once wed; apparently she didn't or did the author forgot. Why still honor the name Colin gave her?
Christina is abducted as a young girl by her clan’s greatest enemy, Colin MacKenzie, because he wants more fae blood in his direct bloodlines and intends to marry her to one of his sons when she is old enough. Those plans go awry when she meets her fated bondmate, Ronan.
I found this book to be somewhat disjointed and not as well written as some of the other books in this series or other books that I’ve read by this author. The book starts with a bit of an information dump when Christina's mother tells her some about the clan’s history and issues with the MacKenzies. Then the mother goes to the MacKenzie to warn his sons of a dream she had about their deaths; for some reason, she takes her young daughter with her, even though she knows that the MacKenzie is a bad guy. Soon after (though it is not stated precisely when), the MacKenzie abducts Christina, changing her name to Kylie, saying to his people that she was just found in the forest; the author went straight from the meeting between the mother and the MacKenzie to the kidnapping with no visual break or transition. I actually had to go up back up and re-read this, trying to figure out what was going on or if I missed something, but that didn't help. Then we’re fast-forwarded 20 years later, and we are told about the bondmates, Christina/Kylie and Ronan, who became close while he was injured. But we are not shown any sort of budding romance at all while he is injured. We're just told about it, and the story moves on. In all honesty, I had a hard time getting past what to me was a rocky start to the book. It just felt all over the place.
I received a free copy of this book, but that did not affect my review.
I loved reading this suspenseful Highland's Bride. The story is full of tension, drama, fated mates, danger, love and romance. Our stubborn heroine Christina Matheson/Kyla MacKenzie is the fated mate of former prisoner with fae blood, Ronan Matheson/Rand MacKenzie. Kyla has the fae gift of premonitions. She will have a vision when someone's life is in danger. She also can control another's mind to do her bidding. Ronan's fae gift is the warrior gift. He is above and beyond the fiercest of warriors. Ronan's Aunt Beth, his father's sister, is Coll and Duncan's mother. She died at childbirth. Christina's mother Grace attended to Beth before she died and promised to care for the boys. Grace stayed with Coll and Duncan till they were three. Five years later, Grace saw their deaths. She and Christina went to the MacKenzie keep to warn them. After they returned to their village, Christina was abducted by Laird Colin MacKenzie. He coveted the fae gifts. He wanted to raise Christina as Kyla MacKenzie. When she became of marriageable age, he wanted a union between her and one of his three sons. He told Christina if she dares defy him, he would kill her parents. Twenty years later, Christina/Kyla's childhood friend, Ronan Matheson realized that Christina/Kyla was his fated mate. But there was so much danger is his pursuit of her. But pursue he must. This is an exciting read and I highly recommend it. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Soul Of Her Soul💞 Christina is the daughter of a fae couple, so she has the gift of second sight. She is a mind walker. However, her mother, sensing strife coming along with two half fae twin Mackenzie brothers, cautions her to never use her gifts around Colin, The Laird, or any Mackenzie.
Scotland 1190... Christina Matheson is kidnapped by the Laird's man, Gregor, and taken to be raised at the Mackenzie castle🏰with The two twins, who are a few years older than her. Her name is changed to Kayla Mackenzie, and she becomes Colin's foster daughter. Colin believes Kayla to be unskilled, that is to have no talent. He also tells her She will marry one of the twins or his third son.
20 years later....1210 AD The author throws in some time travel here all of a sudden! She writes a warrior named Ronan into the story, who was taken into the 21st century to heal some severe wounds he got and needed modern medicine to fix. It appears Ronan is to be Kayla's husband once he gets back to 1210. He's hiding the secret of his birth. He belongs to clan Matheson, the enemy of the Mackenzies!
ARC Received from Booksprout🌱 This book was $3.99 on Amazon at the time of this review. Opinions Expressed here are my own.
I liked this book, but in the ARC copy , there are places where the timeline is confused and disjointed. It would be best to read these books in order, because this one is not a stand alone book. It seems like there should be an earlier book.
This is Kyla and Ronan’s story. Christina, born of Fae parents, had been kidnapped at a young age by Laird Colin MacKenzie, a fierce Highland Chieftain and the Mathesons’ greatest enemy. His plan was to raise her as Kyla MacKenzie and, when she was old enough, marry her to one of his three sons. This would make sure his family’s line would contain Fae blood going forward. To keep her in line, he threatened to kill her parents if she said anything to anyone about his kidnapping her. Her family had warned her never to reveal any Fae gift in front of the MacKenzie clan.
When Ronan Matheson was captured by the MacKenzies and imprisoned, 20 years later, Kyla was sent to tend to his wounds. He recognizes that she is his chosen one. Although he is rescued by his warriors and must leave her for a short time, he will not abandon her. He must find a way to free her from the MacKenzie clan! If he is successful, is Kyla willing to bind herself to Ronan? Will they be able to escape the MacKenzies?
This was a good addition to the series! We have Fae and time travel mixed into a Scottish Highlander story and it really does add that extra touch to keep the reader enthralled! Great story line and well-defined characters bring it all together in an exciting story. Don’t miss this one!
This is suspenseful, exciting and romantic. A new generation of evil has begun, Colin has groomed his youngest son, Jeremiah, to be just like him. Christina, now Kayla, has lived as a willing prisoner with Colin and his sons for 20 years, her parents lives, and the lives of the whole Fae village, held over her head. She has grown to be a kind, caring and protective woman, despite Colin. Two of her brothers, Coll and Duncan, are Fae kin, and have protected her from Colin and Jeremiah. They are now getting ready for a battle to free the Fae to live without threat. Kayla's chosen one, Ronan, was being held prisoner by her brothers, by Colin's order, when they found each other. Ronan was happy to have found her finally, only for Kayla to inform him that she would be marrying one of Colin's sons, instead of him, to protect her parents. Ronan was having none of that, and Cherub rescues him, he goes back for her. Meanwhile, Colin has told Jeremiah about Kayla's Fae blood, and has given Jeremiah permission to marry her. The rivalry between sons, the determination of Ronan and Kayla's stubbornness all war against each other making the story more involved, and more intriguing. I received a complimentary copy of this book from the author. This is my honest and voluntary opinion of it.
Once a gain we are visiting the Matheson brothers and their time travelling bear shifter life and their quest for their fated mates
This is Warrior Ronan Matheson story he has been searching for his fated mate for years and now as an injured warrior been held by his greatest enemy he doesn't expect to come across his mate. Kyla MacKenzie has ben raised as the foster daughter of the clan after been kidnapped because he wants her fae blood in his family he has threatened her family if she tells anyone the truth but when a wounded warrior calls to her what will she do. When he is rescued by his family he will take her with him now she must learn all about her family and her past. Another great story in this wonderful series While each can be read as a stand alone I would recommend that you read them all in order to get the full affect of the story line.
Kyla and Ronan's story is very sweet with a touch of magic and lots of love. I adore historical romances set in medieval Scotland. Men wearing kilts and the strong women they fall in love with - what a wonderful romance.
Kyla was kidnapped as a young girl. She has been raised as a foster daughter but she was never safe. Ronan has been searching for Kyla and finds her as the foster daughter of an enemy.
There is some nice steam to this story. The characters are believable and likable - you will root for their romance.

This was my first book in this series. So, yes I am completely out of order. I really enjoyed the story and the characters. I definitely plan to continue the series and go back to read book one just to better understand the overarching story line. Even though I did not start with the first book, I was able to follow the story and not feel lost. I like the paranormal spin and was completely engaged in the story. Well done.

This story picks up with Ronan and Kayla where the last last novel ended. I liked how there were more linkages explored for several other Fae descendants. The uncomfortable situation between McKenzie and Matheson clans provides so much opportunity for conflict! Watching Rowen and Kayla establish a connection while establishing reestablishing other alliances was quite satisfying. Hints by Cherub at the end have me looking forward to the next two novels.
I received an ARC and am voluntarily sharing my honest review.
Christina Matheson was kidnapped and coerced to grow up as Kyla MacKenzie, foster daughter to hated Colin MacKenzie. When injured warrior, Ronan, is captured, Kyla realizes he is her soul-bond. Not wanting to put her parents at risk, Kyla needs to keep her secrets. But Ronan must find a way to free her to have her near him. The Highlander’s Bride is an exciting novel which I recommend.

A new series called The Fae it is also part of the Clan Matheson series. I know I want to read more in this series, it is well written and one that kept me turning pages. Kyla MacKenzie and Warrior Ronan Matheson's story was one that once I started I was not putting down until I finished it. I will be rereading the books in this series once it is finished. Enjoyable well written story with nice storyline and plot. Likeable characters who are well described and develops well through the story. Heroin is kidnapped and lives for years by her captor. Hero is also kidnapped as heroin takes care of him. They have an attraction. I would have liked more of their background and a more depth to some places. But it is an enjoyable read.
A strong heroine and a strong hero and evenly matched in stubbornness. This was a fun read, with romance and a little suspense. with a little magic, and even time travel. Good addition to the series, but stands alone. My free opinion. Thanks

What a wild, emotional, suspenseful, intriguing, hot and steamy read. She is kidnapped at a young age because of what she has. Threatened so she keeps quiet. Along comes a warrior who is her soul mate. But things don't go well and it is a matter of ups and downs and intriguing situations. I loved it. I received a review copy and voluntarily review it.
This is just a wow kinda of book. Has all sorts of twist and turns to hot chemistry between the soul mates. The characters are well developed and engaging and the storyline flows smoothly with a lot of emotions to every page.

Highlander's Bride: Medieval Romance. #2 in the new and what promises to be an exciting series "The Fae" by Joanne Wadsworth. A Medieval Time Travel Romance with the near extinct Fae, desperation for survival, passion, betrayal, deceit and finding one's soul mate. Fast paced, action filled with intriguing and endearing characters. The storyline is written with Ms. Wadsworth's usual aplomb for intrigue, magic, passion and love with a taste of danger on the side. Many twists and turns. The reader will find themselves turning pages, to find the truth. You can almost feel the characters' angst and frustration. The H/H are perfect for each other. They're passionate, devoted to saving the magic of the Fae, and keeping their soul and hearts bound to each other. A delight to read with paranormal elements. Love, simply pours off the pages. "Highlander's Bride" has everything a Historical Paranormal, Time Travel Romance reader would wish for, passion, suspense, true friendship, trust and the magic of love. A must read story! I look forward to the next installment. A great read!
Kyla was kidnapped twenty years ago by an enemy chieftain who threatened to kill her parents if she ever revealed his crime. Colin MacKenzie, her captor, covets her fae blood and demands that she wed one of his sons. He wants her gift in his blood line. Ronan Matheson was captured by the MacKenzies, and held prisoner. When Kyla tended him, their attraction sizzled. He knows that she's his chosen one. His rescue forces him to leave her, but he will be back to claim his heart's desire. Can he convince Kyla to be his? I loved this exhilarating adventure. Kayla is a feisty heroine who has willingly sacrificed to protect her loved ones. Ronan is a fierce highland warrior who will cherish and protect his mate. They are both strong and compelling characters. They pulled me into their story. The Scottish Higlands are a perfect background for our lovers. I enjoyed their dialogue. It's smart and sassy. Kyla knows how to bedevil her man. Joanne Wadsworth has written an intriguing story filled with amazing characters. The tension and the chemistry made me swoon. I enjoy her well crafted and cleverly plotted romances. I'm looking forward to the next book in The Fae series. I received a copy in exchange for an honest and unscripted review.
Joanne has another winner on her hands with Highlander's Bride - The Fae Series. Cherub (The Fae Princess) always aids her people to bring each person their fated mate, even if they reside in different times. This story is about Kyla MacKenzie a fae child who was kidnapped by Colin and he brought her up as his own child. Now she is grown up and has developed some of fae mind-walker skills. However, she must keep this a secret from Colin as he would force her to marry one of his sons in order to get fae blood into the family line.
Ronan Matheson met Kyla when he was taken as a prisoner by the MacKenzie's clan. Now he is returning to find her and make her his soul mate. Once he finds her alone, they connect immediately - hot and passionate as their souls merge together.
Can they escape Colin's clutches or does one of the son's go after Kyla before the marriage vows are spoken between Kayla and Ronan?
If you love hot, sexy and passionate paranormal love stories, this Scottish romance is right up your alley. I highly recommend it and look forward to the next book within this series.
