***** 4 Russian Stars *****

After the events from book 1, things are not good between Lauren and Mischa. They are both angry and disappointed at each other. Unfortunately, they are also miserable with the separation.

When they finally kiss and make up, they are up against other challenges. The Albanian mob lost a rare diamond, and they believe Mischa is connected to the robbery. Mischa's ex-girlfriend also makes an appearance. She's crazy, jealous, and plain evil.

description

Things get really harry. Even if Lauren wanted to leave Mischa, she's forever connected to his world. I loved the new characters involved and the twisted ending! I'm going to start on the next book right now.

Book 1 left us off with Lauren leaving Mishca; both now heart broken for a love that can never be..things start shifting..

Lauren has this rage for the furthers murder which we know has died so why is it directed at Mishca? He was just a child himself.. so back and forth do those two go, let's work it out, then Mish wants to break up again to save her.. but he can't let her go..then again he wants to break up with her.. like make up your friggin mind already! Jeez!
Lauren has grown a back bone.. liking it'!
However there is this old flame of Mishca that has returned, and guess what she bares his stamp/tattoo whatever the hell it's called! I'd be demanding it be removed like YESTERDAY! But sweet ol' Lauren wants to trust good ol' Mishca until the flame turns vicious and focuses on Lauren.. It's a cross between watching an action flick on your kindle with drama/sex/romance/confusion it was great!

5 "War was coming" stars!!

gunshot

And I can't wait!!

Aside from some errors and contradictions (editing discrepancies obviously), this made for a fantastic Russian mafia read.

This book picked up pretty much where In the Beginning ended. Thankfully, Lauren and Mishca found their way back to one another pretty quickly. But nothing about their life together was easy. The author wasn't quite ready to let this couple ride off into the sunset.

Reunion. Sexy times. Betrayal. Killing. Bratva politics. Kidnapping. More killing. Vengeance. Revelations. Oh yeah... love.

It seems the Albanians have declared war on the Bratva (on Mishca and Lauren especially). Book 3 sounds exciting!

Mischa and Lauren are trying to reconcile their feelings for each other with the fallout of family revelations. An old flame also comes on the scene bringing chaos in tow.

The most enjoyable part of the series is the emphasis on the couple's emotional, versus physical connection. It's really well done, and executed.

Wow!

“This was your father’s ring,” Susan said wistfully, holding it out for Lauren to take. “Before the wedding, he had both of our rings engraved with a saying. Until the end. It was Cameron’s promise. No matter what situation we may have found ourselves in, we promised to stick by each other—”
“Until the end,” Lauren finished for her.

Lauren frowned, watching her run manicured fingers through her blonde hair. “He isn’t here. How about you leave and call him?”
“It’s cute that you think you can tell me what to do.”
She had nails like claws, painted a deep maroon color that was only lightly lighter than the shade she wore on her lips.
“What’s your name, dear? He always loved little girls with common names.”
She had an accent, a stronger one of the version Alex had. Maybe she was French. Lauren didn’t doubt that Mishca had relations with the girl, not when she was acting proprietary though Lauren had never heard of her…not that she even knew what her name was.
“I don’t think my name matters. Who are you.”
The front door opened and closed, the sound carrying to the closet, but Lauren stood where she was, refusing to take her eyes off of her. She was secretly glad Mishca had come back early.
“Lauren?”
“In here.”
He appeared in the doorway some moments later, his gaze straying between two of them, his entire demeanor shifting as he focused on the girl.
“Naomi.”

“Ya tebya lyublya —I love you,” he whispered, the words soft in the silent room.
“Ya tebya lyublyu slishkom—I love you too.”

I wanted to love this book. I looked forward to its release for so long but I really hated it. So disappointed. Spoilers....ok, the story had way too many plots that never went anywhere, like the author wanted Lauren in danger but didn't know how to do it so she just threw half a dozen plot lines at us. Albanian Mob! Naomi! Anya tells Alex to kill Lauren but the book never goes back to that (1 small scene between Lauren & Alex that goes nowhere). Mishca has a beautiful, bitchy ex that he lived with for YEARS & YEARS but this is the 1st we've heard of her (he tattooed his freaking STARS all over her body!!!!!). I thought Lauren was his 1st real relationship. For a man in Mishca's position, he never has anyone guarding Lauren, she comes & goes as she pleases in & out of his house, his club. Lauren finds his ex's phone in his desk, thinks he's with her, & it's never explained WHERE he was. Just "he finished what he was doing". Oh, then Lauren is almost raped by a member of the Albanian Mob before she unloads a Glock into him. WTF?!?!? Susan & Detective Ross are no where to be found in most of this book, neither is Detective Rodriguez. At 1 point a tall, beautiful FBI agent with flowing long hair comes to Mishca's club & they seem to know each other but that plot is dropped after a paragraph. Who is she? The main storyline takes place over what seems like a few days. Too much crap thrown at us in a small amount of time. Sorry, it just skipped & jumped all over the place, never really landing anywhere. Oh, and another cliffhanger that makes NO sense. Mishca has a twin brother?!? Who is a mercenary that wants Mishca dead with a passion?!? During all this time.....Lauren's Dad was the family Doctor for heaven's sake, her Mom knew Mishca & was fond of him as a child, medical records on the family....never has a twin brother named Klaus been mentioned. Also, the murder charges against Lauren for Viktor's death just quietly goes away in the 1st chapter. Never mentioned again. Sorry guys, I really hoped for more in this book. Hate that it was so disappointing because book 1 was so good.

Lauren has no intention of every being mixed up with the Russians again, let alone Mishca Volkov, but fate seems to have other plans for the duo here.

A lot happens in Until the End. And I continued flipping pages until I reached the end, and even then I was ready to pick up the third book because you cannot end it like that! ;)

I love London; her style is smooth, her writing is great, and she makes for an awesome read.

Mish is a great anti-hero, seeing as where he lacks in morals at times, he more than makes up for with Lauren. And I really don't ask for much more than that. There were a couple times I was side-eyeing him so hard, but he pulled through.

Lauren is holding her own in this world--with Mish. I have to give her props there. I still don't want to rip out her throat, so yay for that. Also, she's not melting into the wall trying to hide away from all the scary-bad things.

Now, The Final Hour ...

The first book was meh. There was no suspense except that one twist at the end which was immediately resolved. I couldn't get clarity on Mishca as a character because he didn't have many povs and he just felt bland.

But in book 2? Man was still boring as fuck but I also hated him. He was all bark and no bite. Sure, he killed one of the men that attacked Lauren and her father figure (more on this attack later) but I still think he's a little sissy.

Naomi, his ex bed mate, who also happened to live with him for 3 years, kisses him in front of Lauren (they've been together for months already at this point) but what does he do? He allows this to go on for a couple of seconds and merely moves away from her. He doesn't reprimand her or tell her to fuck off or whatever.

In another scene, this fucker allows her to get close enough for her to rake her nails down his chest and does nothing. Doesn't even feel a bit of guilt even though it shouldn't be "his fault".

This bitch calls his girlfriend a stupid TWAT and...you guessed it right, DOES NOTHING. Doesn't warn her never to do that again or threaten to choke her for it, just listens like a fucking loser. Thennnn, because all of this isn't enough, he allows her to force him to touch her back and push her tits against him BUT HE DOESN'T STOP HER. What a pussy. His age definitely shows because he's not man enough to stop these things from happening time and time again.

Let's look at his thoughts about Naomi, shall we
He was already risking too much for her, all because he felt an inkling of something. It was not love, it was hardly any like, but she had meant something to him once and he didn’t want to see her killed.

Ok, I know it sounds innocent enough but not after everything that I mentioned above and lets not forget that this dumb hoe effectively set in motion plans for killing his girlfriend.

He says he's the Bratva Captain because he's earned it but I call bullshit. He can stab one of his soldiers for bullying Lauren but can't stop a 120 pound conniving woman from throwing her at him? What a pathetic boy.

Lauren thinks the attack where she and Ross and beaten bloody was Mishca's doing because he doesn't want her revealing Bratva secrets, so she goes to his place and slaps him in front of his soldiers. I can't express how giddy I was with happiness. My respect for her increased tenfold and she's the only one I was even remotely interested about reading.

2 stars only for Klaus and Lauren. All the other fuckers can rot in hell, including Luka.

Okay hold on sec, while I compose myself.

Holy oxygen, holy smokes batman, holy jeepers. So this book is straight non-stop in your face action. It’s like a never ending rollercoaster of “whaaaaaaaat” and “no way” and “that b*tch” or “b*tches” in this case.

So according to the author’s note Until the End is really a bridge between book 1 and the soon to come book 3 and oh man what a bridge. So at the start of this book Lauren and Mishca are on not so good terms, they are both emotionally wrecked by everything that has taken place and come to light by the end of book 1. Lauren is torn between forgiving the man she loves despite all the secrets he kept from her and moving on with her life without him. When Lauren finally makes a decision to forgive Mishca she soon finds how much her of her life will be changed forever and Mishca finds out how much he is willing to sacrifice for the women he can’t live without.

There are several new characters that come to play in this book and some old ones as well. There are more twists and turns, there is betrayal, murder, deceit, jealously, and then there is love, loyalty, and family. Miller shows us both sides of the coin in this book with the two protagonists. We see Mishca as brutal leader and vicious Captain but we also see him as loving faithful and vulnerable lover. We see Lauren as a scared unaware, and naïve girl but also as the determined, fierce woman who when pushed can unleash her own form of defense to protect herself. Until the end places many obstacles in the way of Mishca and Lauren’s relationship there is an old flame, another crime family and an even more devious plan in the works. As far smexy time, there are a few steamy scenes between Lauren and Mishca that will have you fanning your face, one in particular I have dubbed “angry, possession, hot tamale” sex, but you will enjoy it when you get there trust me, you may even need a cigarette after. But those scenes don’t overtake the book which I was really happy about. I liked how the story almost pushed the reader to see how insanely dangerous Lauren and Mishca’s relationship was and what they were risking in deciding to pursue it. There is so much preventing Mishca and Lauren from their happiness that as a reader you begin to question if the idea of pursuing their love is even sane or worth it but of course it’s’ love and what is worth more than that.

The book ends with yet another saucy cliffhanger and another revelation that will lead into one of those “oh sh*t, no way” moments and will have you definitely wanting for book 3.

Naomi ruined this book for me. Big time. Just wanted that out there.

Lauren and Misha got back together of course. They were both so miserable yet he had a couple of girls while they were apart but stopped at his third attempt because he felt nothing. Good to know. NOT!!! and why did they put that in the book. I didn't want to know that. I thought he loved Lauren so much. I just hate when they sleep with OW while supposedly loving the h. Yes they were broke up so don't troll me I just didn't want to hear that. It sucked. By the way it was only one little sentence, really nothing, and it is the one thing I remember!!! I am a moron.

And then there is Naomi. I wish I would have been warned he'd had an evil slut live in lover that still has a key to his unit. So to speak!!!! . And she is evil. I think he still wanted her too. Just yuk. Stopped trusting the H After that. Just ruined it for me. I may write more later but right now I just want to wash my eyes with acid. Stupid freaking book.

Until The End (Volkov Bratva)
By: London Miller

4/5 stars

The story of Mishca Volkov & Lauren Thompson returns in the 2nd book of the Volkov Bratva. In the book synopsis/description, it states that this book is a bridge between book 1 (In the Beginning) and book 3 (The Final Hour). So what does that mean to you, the reader? Well, it ends in a certain type of cliffy. But it’s the type of cliffy that lets the reader know that inevitable mayhem and drama are coming in the next book.

We see many of the same supporting characters, and some of them have their own drama. Want to know what happened to Viktor & Anya? Read on! How did Alex react & how does it affect her relationship with both Mishca & Lauren, get the book & read on. Mishca & Lauren spend time fighting against and for each other.

The book starts out with a conniving B, who sets the course for the Albanian mob & her ex-Russian. Who, oh who could that possibly be… so yeah, that sets up a whole bunch problems in this book. Another reviewer complained about this and the interweaving plots, but seriously, we are dealing with a very powerful and dangerous Russian mob. It’s not like they won’t have enemies and people who want to hurt/kill them and the ones they love. It’s a mob book, of course stuff like this is going to happen.

I really liked the surprise character… NO I can’t tell you, I hate spoilers…seeing them and giving them. So if you want to know…and I can guarantee you, that you’ll be surprised and won’t see it coming…but you’ll like it too.

So, I rated it 4/5 stars because there were quite a few grammar points, using wrong words, omitting words etc. I’m a school teacher, so yes, I can read through them & know what the author is getting at, but at the same point, I’m a teacher who has to grade on grammar as well, so it drives me crazy seeing it happen in books, especially when the book’s release date was delayed by almost a month. Have a friend beta read for you. The other thing, yes there was romance, but I also like smut & sex. But if it weren’t for the grammar errors, I would have rated it 5 stars.

Te quiero sólo a ti, Mish."

So... At the end of in the beginning.. Lauren and Mish are not together... I'm not gonna lie that gutted me.. But I was hopefully for a reconnection in this book.. And boy was I not disappointed!!!

The book starts off with a new character,, who I fucking despise.. Naomi

Bridesmaids photo: tumblr_lnsfxnZycB1qao9g9o1_500.gif

She's a thief... She starts a whole load of shit.. And just so happens to be the ex live-in girlfriend of Mishcas from 4 years ago.. She brings her stupid shit to his doorstep and tried a bunch of bullshit moves to get Mish back because... She wants his protection and she is jealous that he truly does love Lauren.

So much shit goes down... I mean I couldn't even start or I would spoil it... And let me just tell you that last scene in the book

Shocked photo: 20h0dg1.gif

I cannot wait for the next installment..can.not.wait!!!!!

3.5 STARS!!!

Ughhhhhh so many horrid characters in this installment *cough* Naomi *cough* Anya *cough*

And the Albanian crew!!!!

I really enjoyed part two of this series! and I loved Mishca and Lauren's relationship and the progression of it! There were some really cute moments between them and it's clear they have a great connection. I really like Lauren and how she's strong enough to handle herself and whatever situation she's in.

And the action in this was enjoyable and there were some interesting twists and turns I didn't see coming.

As much as I enjoyed this there were still things missing for me to fully enjoy it. Eg. the action: I wanted more! I wanted a sense of chaos and I wanted to feel like I was watching something instead of reading it. It just needed a little bit more.

Also, I really like when the main characters interact with the secondary characters in any book. I feel like it adds more depth to a character and story. That's a personal preference of mine and I would've really liked more chapters with Lauren's friends and even Mishca and his sister.

Anyway, aside from that I really enjoyed this and I can't wait to see how things progress in the next book! I feel like things are really going to get ugly.

Ok this one irritated me. Mishca was a complete dumb ass! I mean this girl comes back in your life and it is obvious she is trouble she likes to start crap and when another faction comes looking for her you just let her go.!! Gee you say she was just sex and you don't care about her, but why are you protecting her?!? Then you let her go not once but three times!!!! She made the love of your life feel like crap and she started a fight between you and what do you do?!? You let her go not once, not twice, but three times!! I know I repeated that but HOW STUPID CAN YOU BE?!?!?!? Now you are in a load of crap! As I am banging my head off my iPad repeatedly!

Lots of plot twist again and of course a cliffhanger so you have to read on. I want to see what happens even though I am totally frustrated!

Even better than the first book! This one picks up immediately where the first one left off and as soon as Mishca and Lauren got back together I was a happy camper. Definitely less editing mistakes than the first book but still a few here and there. My fave new character is Luka, he's insane but who cares when he can crack me up! Lol. Love this series so far.

I didn't enjoy this book as well as the first. It appears Ms. Miller is setting up for more books in this series. A few new story lines were introduced along with new characters.

I didn't feel Mish and Lauren's story progressed much.

This what better than the first book. There were a lot of things going on that kept it interesting. However, the editing was still an issue. And parts of the book simply did not make sense. Lauren keeps getting singled out by Mishcas enemies so wouldn't one think she would get some damn protection of her own?! I mean really she was just attacked and like two days later she's kidnapped and held for ransom!! Ridiculous!!
Is Mischa is truly that bad ass why doesn't he protect what's "his" better. But he was willing to go to war for Naomi (an ex) because he was worried about her. Well genius, had you given her up in the first place none of this would have happened!!!!

Another good suspenseful book. We continue on the emotional journey with a raw romance. An amazing job making me despise the enemy, especially Anya and Naomi. I hope they get what's coming to them. Lauren seemed to toughen up while Mishca fell harder. Good read. On to book 3. So far this series hasn't disappointed me. Usually by book to of the series, I'm out because it's a let down, but not this one.

4,5 estrellas.

Tengo muchas preguntas!!! XD Que espero obtener respuestas... :)

Damn damn!!! I’m really enjoying this series. There seem to be a few minor inconsistencies here and there but nothing quite major to stop me from enjoying the story.

Lauren & Mishca have my heart at the moment. And I’m slowly obsessing over Luka. I can’t wait to read his story!!

Now on to book three. 🤗
