When Justin Lang chooses Cara Kinkaid’s restaurant for an important finance meeting and enters her kitchen, Cara learns quickly that he’s all about control. Accustomed to giving orders and having those orders obeyed, Justin insults Cara from the get-go by telling her how—and what—to cook.
Although she’s irritated by his arrogant attitude, Cara finds Justin’s commanding presence, overt sensuality, and masculine good looks impossible to resist. She flirts with him shamelessly—and then puts Justin in his place by creating a tantalizing gourmet event for his investors.
Flirtation quickly transforms into passion, and Cara and Justin spend the better part of a weekend in bed together. As the hours pass in a haze of passion, they explore their appetites and each other’s bodies. But Cara questions the intensity of their connection, afraid that it borders on obsession and mirrors her past relationships. Justin demands control in bed every bit as much as he does in the boardroom. Will Cara submit completely to Justin’s desires? Can Justin offer Cara something deeper than physical pleasure? And what consequences will Cara face if she gives up control to remain in Justin’s bed?

This wasn't your normal porno/sex all the time story. However with a cover like this it's bound to have some coitus!!
Cara and Justin are both mature, hard working adults that are spectacular in their field. Cara is a head chef and Justin is a well known engineer. Both are well respected adults... That like to get down and dirty with one another.
Good story, great description of characters and scenery. Looking forward to the next book :)
This story is about Cara. She is the owner and chef of a five star restaurant. She likes to have control of her life, especially when out comes to her restaurant and her love life. She finds another controlling personality when she meets Justin Lang. They are attracted to each other. They end up going out and having a sexcapade.
However, it all goes wrong when Cara takes the day off from work to spend it with Justin. It seemed like everything that could have went wrong at the restaurant did go wrong. She panicked and blamed all misfortune on Justin and his controlling ways.
This story was not for me. The author needs an editor to catch minor mistakes. One second the man's name is Justin and the next it's Jason. Small stuff like that gets on my nerves. If you need an editor, I got you Ms. Jordan.
I really didn't get to know the characters. There was no depth to them. I was wondering why Cara was mad because of the decision she made to stay with Justin and have a good time. She was irrational. I don't care for irrational women characters. That irritates me. And it looked like she doesn't know how to have fun and let loose.
Also, the sex began as a sort of power play between the two characters. It didn't excite me at all. The only thing I liked was that Justin liked to bite.
To this point I really don't care to read further into this series. I don't care to know the back story of her relationship between Claude and how it is affecting her future relationships. I don't think I will learn anything more about the characters
I love this author. I have read quite a few of her books. I was so taken by this book. I loved it from beginning to end. Take a chance. You won't be disappointed.
Excellent book. Highly recommend this book to everyone. Excellent story line kept your interest and attention making it hard to put down. Ready for the next book in the series.
Lucia Jordan does not disappoint. This book was hot. Justin is a sex God on sticks. Cara is one lucky woman. Can't wait to read the whole series. Don't let your past control your future.
This is an intense read about a young woman who doesn't know how to control her present. She keeps allowing her past to interfere with now. The guy she's interested in is trying to understand but he not going to take her mess. Enjoy I did.
Thought about having his cake and eating it too. This book wets your appetite for walking on the wild side. He knows what he wants and goes out to get it. She's hurt from a past relationship and can't see what's in front of her. She thinks he wants to control her. All he want to do is sample and savour her.
I have yet to read one of Lucia Jordan's books that I didn't love. She really knows how to bring the steam in steamy!!! I recommend this book to anyone who loves HOT men and steamy sex scenes .
I picked this up digitally I don't remember if it was free or $0.99, if it was the latter I paid too much for what is essentially the first couple of chapters of a whole novel. Not a great set-up, I didn't really engage with the primary characters, and the last half of the book was a week-end filled with uninspired sex-scenes and it ends in a cliff-hanger that didn't inspire me to buy the remaining parts of the story.
