Author of Urban Chick Lit, Erotica, and Contemporary Urban Fiction... Jessica N. Watkins was born April 1st in Chicago, Illinois. She obtained a Bachelors of Arts with Focus in Psychology from DePaul University and Masters of Applied Professional Studies with focus in Business Administration from the like institution. Working in Hospital Administration for the majority of her career, Watkins has also been an author of fiction literature since the young age of nine. Eventually she used writing as an outlet during her freshmen year of high school as a single parent: “In the third grade I entered a short story contest with a fiction tale of an apple tree that refused to grow despite the efforts of the darling main character. My writing evolved from apple trees to my seventh and eighth grade classmates paying me to read novels I had written about kids our age living the lives our parents wouldn’t dare let us”. I enjoyed the series, but I was so tired of the whining from Kennedy and Jada.

I understood their pain, but they took it to far. Just move on or accept the past for what it was....OVER with.

Storyline remained consistent as content provided closure. I felt the characters feelings while dealing with turmoil & disappointments were adequately expressed throughout...Siren was a character that was needed in this series for her snake nature was a force that kept the drama flowing. I thought Kennedy's decision dealing with King was appropriate for her meek character...While Jada's reactions were at times a bit extreme, it was her way of dealing with a difficult situation. Overall, I thought A Thug's Love was a series worth reading & I encourage all to read.

Well what a load of unexpected events.... so let me quickly jump in so I can go to bed :)

Jada- She did exactly what I was hoping she did... and set.it.off... HOWEVER she went left like a hard left and left me like um wait no no that wasn't apart of the plan in my head. I wanted her to so badly give me my quick Angela Basset in waiting to exhale moment and then give me something fierce and classy in return... I think I was hoping for whoop your a** and show you how freaking fab I can be without you... I got the first part... the second not so much. It was so much hurt (which I understood) that she just couldn't give me anything more then.. anger pure unfiltered anger.

Dolla- This guy... can we talk a second and talk about double freaking standards. He made my stomach hurt. and although I wished him nothing but pure pain with a huge helping of begging. I was still rooting for this guy, that he could fix this.. somehow... he failed me completely. After his actions I honestly gave zero f**** about his character.

Kennedy-LOL this chick I completely understood where she was coming from... and I get 100% her position.. BUT at the same time I am thinking... yeah you did them 3 years but.. you also did that willingly.. YES you are a "ride or die chick" (Which I should add quickly as hell I AM NOT lol) but you did in fact have a choice period. You made the decision... now if at the end of the day she felt if I would known then what I know now and her choice would have been different.. I could understand her feelings completely,but just based on her being so young and so far up kings crack.. I don't think for one second she would have done anything different. So I get the upset I do ish was dirty.. really dirty and I probably would have went the hell off as well...but when I thought she made a certain decision based on anger and hurt... yeah I was about to quickly write her ass off... yet she pull through. She annoyed the piss out of me but it is what it is. I guess what I couldn't understand was how she could be so balls deep in love and then just cut those feelings... strange for a moment.

King- Sigh.. I guess it pays to tell all the truth. I was truly worried but you know I was completely okay with either outcome... stay together or not it was okay with me.... and I refuse to tell what choice was made hehe READ THE BOOK!

Meech - OKAY truth moment.. I didn't really care about meech character... like at all he was just apart of the story line. I didn't get invested with this guy at all. I didn't care much about London either..sorry I just wasn't invested in him.. good guy but yeah well that's about it.

Last but not least... Siren... well all is fair in love and war... insert evil laugh

So there you have it folks.... enjoy! ( Yeah I said this review was going to be quick until my mind started working overtime as I typed... my bad!)

SN: After I typed this review I actually laughed for about 2 solid mins because I talked as if these books characters were in fact real hehe

Banging Series !!!!

There has to be a spin off. Jada and Dolla must have their moment where we see inside his head and heart and come back swinging for his girl. Jada was loyal to everyone. She played her position and life knocked her down. She deserves the man who help build her heart. Meech was a straight stand up dude who should have never entertained the likes of Siren. If anyone deserves to be happy, it's him with London. King was the depiction of a gentleman when it came to Kennedy. He owned his wrongdoings and patiently gave her space. Is Glen going to stay away quietly? Did Dre just vanish? Let's see if a spin off give of more of these banging characters.

I liked this final installment, but I did not Love it.... I wanted more pop from page to page... I felt Jada's pain, but at the same time, felt she was a bit too out of control. I was not looking for a HEA with no get back for Dolla but, I was looking for more growth in his behavior. I was very happy with Siren end but not so much with Maria. I wanted to see Kings handling of her more upfront and on the pages. Overall if you are a Jessica fan you will be happy, but for me It was missing the usual Jessica vibrant expression.

I hated Siren was the villain she just gave her heart to the wrong man. I wasn’t fond of London character or her and Meech relationship. Even though I understood Jada I still hated they were separated as a family. King and Kennedy cold hearted.

A weird theme that I’m seeing is that as a whole, these women get with these rich thugs and just sit back and relax. Not trying to stack anything up for themselves in case of a rainy day or god forbid they decide to leave the relationship. These women are completely dependent on their men which is why they get stuck with so much heartbreak.

My thoughts while reading:

- [ ] Lord not dolla popping up to LaMelles. The same bar Jada is headed to with her rebound Marcus!!!
- [ ] Whatttt. Not Marcus holding Jada hostage for ransom money!!!! Dang Jada you just can’t win for losing!!
- [ ] Whatttt I’m completely blind sided!!! I knew siren was a snake but this is too snakyyyy. She done convinced Marcus to hold Jada for ransom so she’ll have some money to start a new life in case meech decided to leave her.
- [ ] Kennedy why the heck you letting your daughter stay with glen alone. I know that’s me Jerry’s grandson but you just met him
- [ ] I never uphold cheating but I’m sorry. Jada did what she had to do. Meech needed to feel something. He needed to feel an inch of how she felt and im proud of her even though it almost turned deadly. She finally got him back.
- [ ] I’m glad glen stopped Kennedy before she did anything she would regret. Not to mention she’s pregnant. Even though she’s hurt she still loves king and two wrongs don’t make a right.
- [ ] I’m so glad they were able to trace the calls and see siren was the one to sent jadas kidnapping up. Idiot didn’t even think to use a burner.
- [ ] Tuhhh ain’t no way Kennedy so quick to tell Jada she needs to let dolla see the kids and let them be around them twins. Let’s see how Kennedy feels once king has to start playing daddy to the child he has with siren!
- [ ] Kennedy why you sleeping with king just to tell him to leave. You’re entirely too vulnerable
- [ ] Kennedy I wouldn’t even have accepted that boutique king bought you. He’s trying to buy your feelings and forgiveness
- [ ] Lawd Jesus not siren getting pulled over with a bunch of drugs and guns in her car!!! And detective Maria was killed in a home invasion! Chileeeeee and they planted sirens fingerprints so she’s going down for murder tooooo
- [ ] I’m hoping king backs off and lets meech raise Elijah.
- [ ] Kennedy I’m glad you didn’t have the abortion but you let king off too easy.
- [ ] I’m glad dolla is funding a hair company for Jada but I hope this teachers her and Kennedy to always have their own

Kennedy, King, Meech, Dolla, and Siren are all back once again for the last book in the series. Kennedy is still reeling from the after effects of finding just how long the lie about Siren and King had been hidden, and even more floored when she finds out the true extent of Siren's shiestiness. Tired of being a Queen to a man that has been reduced from a King to a peasant in her eyes, Kennedy leaves to gather herself and her thoughts. But will she stay gone? After Jada comes face to face with the twins that Dolla has been hiding and realizing her woman's intuition wasn't wrong....she finally for once says F*** Dolla and does her...literally.....but little does she know the man that she finally let's in will want WAY more than a night of banging sex. Siren is thinking no one knows her secrets and she is working on getting her family back...meanwhile the family is working on getting her out of all of their lives for GOOD. This ending was so good and Jessica wrapped up all of the loose ends in a neat little now. THIS is how you do a series. If you don't read another series you gotta read this one!

Really good read that had me upset with every single character. Kennedy was just over the top with her mess though, King begged her not to do it but kept throwing it in his face like the little lie he told was such a big deal. King just had women problems all around but Dolla and Jada really needed to let it go when she had no problem hurting the kids. That was a done deal for me, some things you just can’t take back and kids shouldn’t be put in it no matter how hurt you are.

Jada was the fool to stick around but the labels and status were just too important for her to let go of. I was so tired of hearing about loyalty, ride or die, Bonnie and Clyde with the series though. Then add in all the label swallowing and petty materialistic mess it was just overdone with simple crap. Siren needed everything she got so I was just waiting to see what happened to her. Meech I wanted to win so bad after the last one. I would’ve like to read more about him and actually seeing him happy in this though. Good series in the end even with the rough start in the first one.

The introduction to London was so generic. Meech never truly cared for Siren. He could have forgiven her. He moved on too quickly. She never cheated on him, just omitted because she gave her loyalty to King. King moved faulty. He kept stringing his “ friend” Siren along for years knowing the repercussions. She would have never had the opportunity to snitch if she wasn’t a woman in the game in the first place. She was not protected. Just like Kennedy wasn’t protected. King’s penis brought about his problems. The detective and Siren but of course the women are the ones who suffer huh? It was a page turner for sure. I was not interested in the last two books. Why are they raising Siren’s son after they had her killed? That’s foul. She still was a good mom.

Jada was taking things too far. Wishing death on the twins. They didn't have anything to do with it. Dolls knew he cheated. I stop liking Jada by stabbing him didn't solved anything. Kennedy went running g she was falling for Glen. Yes king were wrong for not telling Kennedy, and Meech about him Siren. He didn't know about that Elijah were his. She was acting like a b. Jada slept with Marcus to get back at Dolls. Marcus working with Siren. But it all back fired. The Detective and Siren working together. Brooklyn didn't snitch. In the End things work for everyone

I can say reading this final chapter was very interesting. The women were so hurt and disgusted with the men you would have thought all of the relationships wouldn't have lasted. It's good to see King and Kennedy workout because she had me scared for a minute expecially almost dealing with Glen. I was really upset how Dolla treated Jada after she did what she did and got kidnapped, they always say a man can dish it out but can't take it, but it's also good to see that they could co-parent. Overall this was a good read, great job Jessica Watkins

Damn!

Well I'm happy that Siren got what she had coming to her because jealousy is something else it will cause your own demise. Now Kennedy I understand where she was coming from to a point but she became nerve wrecking with her issue. Now Meech I'm totally happy for h e deserved to be happy. Dolla had a lot of nerve to do Jada the way he did and I just feel bad for Jada. Overall this was a good read and I was not disappointed.

I loved the book but OMG Kennedy got on last damn nerve! By chapter 15 I wanted King to tell her kick rocks so bad! How you that mad at something that was before you ever existed. Yes he could of told her but damn she was doing the absolute most and I just wanted to choke TF outta her.

Dolla got on my nerves too with his ungrateful hypocrite tale! I swear men can dish it out all day everyday and twice on Sunday but the one time it's done to them they can't deal with it.

This book really ties everything together! I can’t lie—Kennedy had me mad for a second, and I was this close to putting the book down. But in the end, it wrapped up exactly how I needed it to. The twists and turns throughout kept me hooked, and I needed Kennedy to get her happily ever after.

Jada and Dolla… whew! I wanted them to work out so bad, especially with everything Jada has been through. Siren, girl, you had me beyond frustrated during this series! The way she craved love and the extreme lengths she went to, just to still end up losing—it was a lot.

Meech and London? I’m still on the fence about them. I don’t know how to feel just yet.

Overall, I give this series a solid 4.5! I flew through the first three books in just a few days, and I cannot wait to dive into the fourth and see what’s next for Jada!

Loved it

Siren got exactly what she deserved for all the trouble she caused. Dolla made me sick this book because he could dish it but can't take it typical ninja 😒. I was happy Jada had some fun and got some new D even thought it ended bad just glad Dolla had to take what he dished out. I was mad King been didn't say nothing to Kennedy about dealing with Siren because all of this would've be avoided, glad Kennedy changed her mind about the abortion. Great read

I really enjoyed this read. It was unpredictable, and had twist and turns that I did not see coming, left me with my mouth wide open a few times. Although I couldn't imagine having a so called "friend" like Siren! She was definitely the villain in this sequel!! Job well done....

Good read

The only problem I had with this book is that the timelines were incorrect. Kennedy met king at 18, got pregnant,carried a baby for 9 months and went to jail for 3 yrs and was only 21?! That's impossible! She should had been a least 23 when she was released from jail. Authors need to pay attention when creating time line. Also there was many grammatical errors.

Good book..

However there were a few aspects that made things confusing. For instance, having Kennedy say that she can tell Bianca and Brandon were at her house when she had no clue that the twin existed. There were spelling errors as well. In all, too bad there isn’t a book four because I’d love to read it.

Siren got what she deserved! I'm glad Kennedy came to her senses and returned to King! I completely understand how Jada felt like she had given her all for a man who repeatedly showed who he really was and she continued to be by his side!
