Old School: A Biker Bad Boy Romance

Rate this book
Lola

Running someone over on my way home from work wasn't part of my plan. Especially if that someone was the motorcycle riding bad boy of my wet dreams.

Vince might think that I owe him something, but he can forget it. I'm not dropping my panties for him.

Even if he turns me on like no one else...

Vince

I don't do commitment. I don't do love. All I do is f*ck and forget.

Then Lola comes speeding into my life and thinks she can change me. That's OK, because I'll soon show her who's boss.

She may have run me over but I'm the one who will come out on top.

This is a standalone novel with a HEA and no cliffhangers.

Lola and Vinny meet when Lola falls asleep at the wheel on her way home from work and hits Vinny. Vinny was not seriously hurt, even though he was riding his motorcycle and finds Lola amusing. Lola was such an immature brat throughout this book. It was tough to take and Vinny's character was almost as bad. Lola lies to her boss (repeatedly) uses Vinny to keep her job, uses Vinny again to keep her job and acts hurt when he doesn't treat her like a princess. Vinny was not a man who even thought about commitment, let alone gave off the impression he wanted one. Yet, each time he and Lola sleep together he keeps saying it means nothing. How this dysfunctional couple could possibly make me think of it being a romance was pretty funny. Neither one of them was redeeming, they were both conceited, thought they were better than everyone else and both of them treated each other horribly. Throwing the word "love" around at the end doesn't make this a romance. It was lacking proper grammar, used wrong words and the author even had both characters speaking in the same paragraph without saying who was talking. It was just a mess. I do not give out one star reviews but I had to with this one.

I received a free ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.
This was, somewhat surprisingly, a rather sweet romance. It isn't yet another one of those books where two people meet, throw in some sex, and viola! Two days later they're madly in love. Yes, there's some pretty good sex mixed in, but there's more to it than that.
Lola and Vince meet by accident. Literally. Lila's driving home from work, tired, and runs into Vince on his motorcycle. Vince is 100% a player – he's never been with the same girl twice. Lola has never had a one night stand. But she's lonely and still dreaming of finding Mr. Right. Vince's motorcycle is pretty busted up, although fortunately, he's pretty much ok. She gives him a ride home, and the two of them argue pretty much the whole time. And when she finally gets him home, yes, they have some pretty fantastic sex.
Ok so that's done. Time for Vince to move on. Except he can't seem to get Lola off his mind. For some crazy reason, he wants to see her again. They argued like crazy about everything (he's pretty arrogant and full of himself, and she's pretty spunky and has a temper). But he just can't get his mind of her.
Vince owns a custom bike shop chain for motorcycles and also sells bike accessories on the side. Lola is a writer for a fashion magazine with the boss from hell. The boss wants to do a spread on “motorcycle chic”. Lola is covering her butt and trying to keep from getting fired, and tells her that “Vinny's Bikes” has agreed to help out with the spread if the magazine features his new accessory line. Can you see where this is going? Yep.
So things take off from there. You need to read it!
I really enjoyed this story. The character came to really care for each other over time. Vince is constantly battling against himself because that just isn't the way he does things with chics, and he doesn't want a relationship even though he can't think of anyone else.
Based on the story alone, I probably would have given this 4 or 5 stars. But there were some concerns I had that I couldn't overlook. There is never any mention made of using condoms, and for someone who's with a different girl every night, this is totally unacceptable and irresponsible, no excuses. Also, there weren't motorcycle helmets used most of the time. It is understandable with Vince being the type of guy he is that he would go without a helmet, but at one point, Lola rides with him. She's terrified and has never been on a bike before. Again irresponsible. Not enough that I'd deduct stars just for that alone, but with the condom issue also, the whole safety thing was a problem for me, and I deducted one star.
The version I read has awful editing, which really became annoying. I didn't deduct for it since it is a pre-publication copy, and hopefully the author has cleaned it up before it hits the general public. So I'm struggling between 3 and 4 stars. But I did like the story, and the way the characters developed over time. So I'm going with the 4.
To end this review, here's one of my favorite quotes: “Most sh***y people in the world would be a lot happier if they just got laid a little more often.”

I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review

After having read Cousin Improper and Off Limits that are also by Delilah Wilde, I couldn't wait to start Old School. I have to say I was a bit disappointed. I didn't really care for the story line and I didn't bond with Vince or Lola. They both seemed immature and their fear of commitment dragged on during the story. Even though the sex scenes between Vince and Lola were smoldering, I wish that there had been a little more sexual tension build up but sex from the start works as well.

Vince is a millionaire living in a bad boy body with tattoos and ripped muscles. From the moment that Lola set eyes on him with a gashed forehead from their accident in all, she knew that she was in trouble. Vince has commitment phobia to the tenth degree and it aggravated and frustrated me throughout the story. I couldn't deny that he was sexy and he had a great sense of humor and with all that leather, he was yummy!

Lola is trying to make her way in the fashion world after a really long day while driving home she meets the hottest guy in the worst kind of way. After the accident things get heated in the best way. When they part ways they plan on never seeing each other again. Their hearts on the other hand had a different plan. I found Lola to be a bit mousy and weak willed for my taste. At times her spunk would shine through and then disappear just a quick.

While this wasn't my favorite story by Delilah Wilde, she writes the steamy scenes like no one's business and I absolutely loved Cousin Improper and Off Limits. I just didn't feel like Old School had everything that I am looking for in a romance. Will I ever read another book by Delilah Wilde again? Absolutely. Readers are not always going to like every character or book by a specific author but her next story could be just what I am looking for.

I received this book for free to give my True and Honest Review

Oh phoo wee you can feel their attraction on the off start and what away of the words 'bumping into you' or 'heads over heels' in your first encounter of not being able to say NO whenever you see each other or in Vince's case going with the same person twice.
You can see no matter what he says his attraction towards Lola is something new & different to him but then again going for a weakly biker was something completely different and out of character for Lola but what a changing point in both their lives as it gives her an idea for the front coverage for the first assignment for the fashion magazine she works for.
You just feel this blazing attraction towards these 2 but things or words gets in the way like Vince's own stalker who seems to break in to his home which didn't sit well for Lola seeing as she was the same girl who had told her they were going out together but she wouldn't listen and only contracts him as she needs to for her article and that leaves them EXTREMELY HOT under their collars
This is one Hell'v'a sexy and steamy book and you're REALLY wanting him to change his attitude towards relationships & not having just one night stands all over the place, then it's quite comical when he see's that he needed them back again that you can't go through with anyone as all he keeps thinking about I'd Lola, she even tried and couldn't.
You either will love our loath Vince with the way he is and I personally loved him & was backing for him to come to his senses & decide if he wants to take a chance of a relationship & for Lola if that is the case will she take a chance on him

I received this for my honest review. This is the first book I have read by the author so wasn't sure what to expect, well I wasn't disappointed it was great. Lola is a fashion journalist trying to work her way up so working long hours and the commute home starts to take it's toll, she falls asleep at the wheel and hits a biker Vince. From then on you get to see their battles about accepting their chemistry and going with it but constantly bringing their old ways forward that cause them so many fallouts and misunderstandings. This is a great read and not your usual woman falls head over for the bad biker, plenty of humour, hot scenes with twists and surprises.

Lola quite literally runs into Vince, as in her car meets his bike.
She sees trouble written all over his face, but can't help that he throws her hormones into overdrive.
Vince is a tatted up bad boy biker, or is he? There's more to Vince than his pretty face but he's a hit it an quit it kinda guy and he wants Lola.
These two are at each others throats every chance they get, using sniping and anger to fight the undeniable attraction between them.
Once they give in can Lola be happy with one night or will Vince decide for the first time that once is just not enough?

Old School is a quick read, full of tension, chemistry and hot sex. Loved the characters and the plot. 4 stars

Lola and Vince met when Lola ran into Vince on the road from sleepiness. Vince liked the way Lola looked and set out to have her. Lola didn't like the cockiness from Vince. But at the end of the meeting Lola and her hormones had Vince. Lola dismiss Vince which never happened to him. Lola intrigues Vince with her feistiness.

The entire story was back and forth bickering and ending in sex. The couple has chemistry that is true but beyond the sex .. Nothing!

This book had a great plot. Very different from her other books like Off Limits and Cousins Improper which were both excellent reads. This book pits Lola against Vince who meet when she hits him with her car. Great Beginning with two stubborn and rather immature characters. The story continues from there. With Vince saving her job. I received this book free in exchange for an honest review.

I don't like to give bad reviews but this book was bad. I didn't feel a connection to the characters. To much inner dialogue. Please sleep with someone after meeting them for 5 minutes, with no protection. He is bossy and cocky. Just bad
